Hello people new here and im digging around with no exact answer so I decided to open a thread. I just rooted note today and I flashes CM9.1 by cyanogen (QuincyATT) version and I may be having data issues or not lol.
When I try and choose lTE/GSM under settings it doesn't let me; just defaults back to GSM automatically. Also I feel like data goes in and out or maybe its just me. Any suggestions? I'm in an LTE area...

Did you ask at&t to provision your sim for LTE? When I got my note I had to do that.

Yes. Will LTE work automatically? I'm assuming theres no icon for it.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
It will automatically connect if available. The icon is 4g. If you see H then you're not on lte because it isn't available or possibly because of that setting.
This is mine by default. Honestly not sure if it makes a difference.
Gubment Cheeze
Damnit lol. I'm in an LTE area but mine just stays on h+. OK I'll try and figure out whats going on. By chance do you remember on the original rom what the LTE icon looked like?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
On the stock ROM, the icon was always 4G unless you were in an lte area....Then it was 4Glte.

I'm subscribing to this thread. I have the same thing. I'm in a lte area but changing the lte/gsm/wcdma won't stick. It always changes back. I'm still searching. That's how I found this thread. If I figure it out we'll both know.
Edit: I assume you tried this.

Do your apn settings say Cingular by any chance? These are my options. Obviously you want lte.

If op has the same thing I do. Its att lte pta. On network mode lte won't stick. I can pick it but as soon as I do it switches right back. I tried deleting the APN and making a new one but still no love.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using Tapatalk 2
Damn dude. Idk. That is strange. And At&t updated your sim when you bought the phone?
Gubment Cheeze
Yep new sim. Same on stock or paranoid android.
@op i've searched to no avail. Like I said I subscribed to this thread. If you find an answer your thanks meter would rise every day.
I still have the same issue as well with a new sim. Haven't resolved the issue yet just wont stick lol. I dont know what to do I love this CM9.1 so much I refuse to switch. Ive just been using h+ its about 7mb down but nothing compared to when I hit 27mb down on LTE.

Not sure if this will do anything, but have you tried clearing cache and dalvik in recovery and then seeing if setting will stick? If that doesnt work, try wiping again, but then dirty flash the ROM and gapps. Another option(and I'm not sure what this will do) is trying to clear data in settings apk and starting over with all your settings. That will wipe everything back to stock settings as if you just flashed. Good luck guys.

@op after trying numerous different suggestions from the community the only success I've had is to flash the GB modem of flapjaxx. I get stable lte but it leaves me with baseband unknown. It works though. Hope this helps and I'll keep trying.

Man I really don't want to switch to GB base lol, I'd rather be on touch wiz. After doing some research I'm starting to believe it may be the modem. My phone arrived with ice cream so I'm betting that has a lot to do with my issues. I'm going to change my modem for the first time to see if I can switch to LTE
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using Tapatalk 2
Possibly a dumb question. But after you deleted your APN, and entered a new one, did you press menu and save?
Proper LTE APN for your carrier, with LTE sim card and LTE plan, you should get LTE running.
for CM9/AOSP/AOKP/CM10 type roms, LTE will show up as 4G.
Another way to test is to install a UCLF6 ROM. Get that up and running. Then go to the APN settings, and the LTE APN's should be loaded.
To confirm LTE is connected, make sure you are in an LTE area, and you can check in Status, or open up the phone dialer, and do *#2263*.
Then select LTE, and All types in LTE. If you are running in LTE there, you should be able to get it up and running with any CM ROM.
I switched to the touchwiz black star rom and I'm on LTE right now. Same modem I had on cm9.1. Its puzzling why it wouldn't turn on. Oh well ill stick with touch wiz thanks anyways guys!

Hello again, everyone. The last thread I had was about trying to get this phone on Cricket, which failed MISERABLY.
Not sure if it's the phone yet, but since the phone can accept a SIM/GSM card, I took a look at T-Mobile, already got the estimate for what my plan would cost, etc. I really don't want to buy another handset, especially after going through the four-day blundering around until I got a custom rom on this phone.
However, now that I know how to do it, I should be able to load Cyanogen on any device that is supported.
That being said, any users here have experience with T-Mobile? In theory, would the phone work after accepting the SIM card and getting programmed by T-Mobile?
I tried using Google, I tried searching for using this phone on T-Mobile, but found nothing helpful.

Ok, THIS time, the phone radio was updated. Apparently, I could not use internal storage. Silly me. Thanks for the new radio image, getting a G instead of an E on my internet!
But a quick google search reveals GPRS instead of EDGE. Is that progress? Changed to WCDMA preferred again, and still nothing with a 3 AND a G.

Not sure if this is important, but I switched to the Viper 2.2 ROM just to try it out (plus it supports DIAG) For some reason, when I load T-Mobile APNs on CM 10.1, it will hang on the boot screen for a REALLY long time.
Okay, got CM 10.1 working. Still working on EDGE. Going to try and reflash the radio to see if that works.
So it turns out the radio IMG hangs the boot. After it is loaded, cache will not mount in recovery mode.
Update: the bands are not supported by this phone.
LTE 700MHz; CDMA 2000 1x/EVDO Rev 0/A 800/1900MHz; UMTS/HSPA dual band (2100/900) and quad band GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900)
Compared to the Optimus L9...
WCDMA 850 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100
GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
And then I find the radio for the Google Nexus 4... And I think if I can set the phone's frequencies, it should work. Google Nexus 4 has UMTS/HSPA 2100. Just the CDMA won't be WCDMA.
Which bands are not supported?
Isn't UMTS/HSPA dual band (2100/900) 3g?
I'm headed to singapore where they use 2100 I believe so I'm curious about this (and the radio update). I have 1.53.06.0919 currently.

Settings, mobile network settings, preferred then tick 3g. If you're on sprint keep lte off unless you've figured a way to call out on it. If that fails, look for an app called "phone info" and switch it by opening the app, phone information then by default its set to wcdma change it to CDMA auto. Worked for me. Good luck.
