Hello,
recently I have a serious problem using my XDA 1.
It might have been the consequence of a drop from my belt clip holder.
The XDA fell onto the ground of a tube station.
Now there is a little scratch on the lower right corner of the LCD screen.
When I turn it on (and sometimes even during use), the display color changes occaisonally to some bright green/blue and it's very difficult to read/see anything.
Sometimes it's working without problems.
But especially using it with a navigationssystem and can be very annoying if the screen suddenly disappears.
Any advice what to do would be highly appreciated!
Are there any shops who could fix this in the London area?
many thanks in advance
One thing is for sure something is loose/not making the proper connection.
I suggest and if you're up to it, for you to take it apart and take a look.

XDA repair service in London area
Thanks for the advice and the quick reply.
I am hesittating to open the XDA, since I am not very technical at all.
Therefore I would like to have it checked by a specialist in the London area.
If anybody can recommened a reasonable priced place that would be highly appreciated.
cheers

Hey guys,
I just a GS2 on Friday, and I am thinking I have a dud?
The viewing angle on it is poor, I have a Galaxy S(1) and compared them, a slight tilt on the S2 turns it slightly yellow when the S is still bright white.
I also then did a screen test using an app called Screen Test none the less, and the whites are showing up as more of a very light grey than a white, and again has the tint when I tilt it ever so slightly.
My Galaxy S has perfect bright whites and an amazing viewing angle, so I am guessing the S2 I got was a dud? Or can someone else help me out.
I only got it on Friday on contract so I am guessing I can easily get it replaced if that is the case
Thanks
hmm i think you should get it replaced
I have whites till almost looking at the side, does go a bit gray towards the side, but not as bad as you seem to have.
Try for a replacement.
Though the sgs2 does have a slight yellow tint, more so at angles.

I've looked at 3 SGS2 and only 1 had a fairly perfect screen. Mine has some uniformity issues, certain areas of the screen are a bit darker. It is more obvious in low light.
I'd tell you to replace it but there are high chances that you'll get another one with faults.Very few seem to be perfect.. I suspect they are hand made, one by one, by zillions of small workers in underground caves. Each is a unique piece of manual craftsmanship.
Hey guys. Was out and about the other day and was using my phone and as I tilted the phone down out of the glare of the sun I noticed some weird vertical lines on my screen. Each evenly spaced same colour etc.
I can not replicate the effect unless there is large amounts of light or im outside in real light. BEAR IN MIND ITS ONLY VISIBLE AT CERTAIN ANGLES.
The lines don't appear on any pictures or hinder the video. They ar only visible during sunlight.
What im wondering has anybody else got this I will say issue. Or any insight as to what it could be? If there's a problem Carphone warehouse will want to repair it and not give me a swap for a new phone. What light does anyone have to share. Or am I just being paranoid?
My Titan is exactly the same, I think its just the way the screen works and is nothing to worry about.

I've got mine from Carphone warehouse. Haven't noticed this yet. They will replace it for you within 28 days. Else it goes to HTC for repairs. However, where did you find this sunlight? It's been so gloomy out here. BTW as mentioned above, this could be just the normal screen behaviour. The other two issues with screen that have come up so far are - the pink dot in the middle and grey keys visible on white background. Nothing back from HTC.
Hold your Titan with the screen directly facing you, at about 3/4 arms' length (as in, just sorta normally with your elbow bent a little) under diffuse light, with the phone powered up and the screen off.
Then tilt the phone backwards. As you get about 3/4 of the way back, you might see a regular pattern of thin stripes running up and and down on the screen.
They are not visible when the screen is powered up. I think it's just a normal part of the way the LCD panel works. As an analog, on my Dell Venue Pro, I could see a grid of dots under its AMOLED screen when looking closely at an oblique angle similar to as described above.
I also have a matte finish screen protector on my Titan, which might be making this more pronounced. In any case, it is absolutely *not* happening when the screen is powered up -- even in black areas of the screen.
Hmmm... Maybe it's a future charging grid.
have you guys noticed anything new in regard to htc amaze blue lines. i just go the phone a week ago and i have been noticying the same things. any new info thank.
My Titan also has these blue vertical lines, and it is seen only in daylight with screen off.
I see the same too but I thought it was from my screen protector...
Hey guys, recently my moto z had its battery replaced but when I got home I noticed that the top left of the screen had this white splotch that looks like sunshine shining thru. The screen and touch in that area work fine there's just this "aura" or "glow" I'm attaching a picture to help.
Could be a pressure mark or affects from heat pack to melt glue to get rear case off.
Either way you're not gonna calibrate it out ??
It's surely a burn mark caused by excessive heat from the screen removal process. Unlike lcd screens which turn off pixels and return to normal function when cooled off, oled display pixels just die... Some phones get those kind of marks from the cpu overheating the display from under it.
My MiPad4 was not used very much for half a year.
Today I discovered yellow discoloration at the edges of the display.
(unfortunately I didn't take a photo)
Short story: they are gone now.
I did several rounds with my thumbs around the display edges. I applied gentle pressure. May be I mobilized some liquid crystals again that were wandering to the edges from storing the tablet in standing position in my working bag.
is this possible?
somebody else?
cheers

Unlikely I don't think they can migrate like that but it work... for now.
It's not the crystal assembly but the bonding layer above them you're seeing. Also make there's no factory screen protector present.
Screen yellowing on smartphone.
Recently bought a Motorola G6 Plus, a budget smartphone from 2018, brand new and it came with a slight display defect where the bottom edge has a yellow tint to it. I understand it's from the LOCA glue deteriorating from age since it has stayed in some wear house for a year or so. It's a pain in ...

yep... the yellow tint is back.
increasing while getting warm... i loved this device so much before....

That's strange. If it was the bonding agent or a inter layer you would expect it's color to be constant.
It's thermal reactive...
