Hey guys,
I previously got the tmob Galaxy S4 but returned it because it would not connect correctly onto my work wifi (constantly disconnect/reconnect) or my home wifi (obtaining ip address)
Anyway, I just got the verizon S4 and turns out I have the same problem.
Anyone else having troubles with wifi? How have you fixed them? BTW I cannot access the *#0011# on verizon as I did on tmob (not that it helped to turn off wifi power saver)...
Thanks!
Search the forums for S4 wifi issues. It appears to be a DLink router issue. Its discussed ad-nauseum.

Having sporadic issues as well with both an Asus 2.4Ghz AP, and Rosewill 2.4/5Ghz router. Stuck on "obtaining IP address".
I don't have a D-link router at my house. For some reason, my wifi is fine now at work.
Is there anything a dev can do at the kernel level to fix the wifi problem?
Did you find a solution for this on touchwiz Roms?

I spent hours searching forums and Google to solve my wifi issue. I'm using a wireless n router and when my phone woke from sleep it showed I was still connected to wifi but had no internet. Solution was in my router not phone. N routers have protocol issues sharing n and g with phones. My soltuion was to make a secondary ssid on my router for my phone. Now my phone wifi works perfect. Hope this helps others

thx for sharing this experience~
The problem I'm experiencing is that I am not receiving push notifications of any kind while my phone is locked/sleeping (screen off) on my wifi network at work.
My home wifi network and mobile connection have no such problems, i get the notifications instantly. My wifi is set to never sleep.
I do get the notifications a couple of seconds after I unlock my phone though. Not very useful because I have to keep checking my phone.
Not sure if this has anything to do with it but my home network is WEP secured and work is WPA/WPA2 secured.
Anybody have any ideas what could be causing this?

My guess is that your work network blocks those ports (not sure what they are).
Edit: I had a quick look and saw its port 5228

If you go into your router settings there should be an option somewhere to open up additional ports. (typically 192.168.0.1 in a Web browser) Just have a look online to make sure the port your opening for Android is correct, I only had a very quick look.

Hello there,
I dont know what happened, but suddenly the GT 10.1 stay trying to obtain the ip address. The issue was presented after update the last version to 3.2 rom but no right away, some days after. The router is from home, and i've read the solve is to connect through static ip, but i dont like this option.
Anybody has have this issue.
Thanks in advance
I solved changing the patterns from the router.

When ever this happens with me, i just turn off and tun on the wifi in the tab. That works fine for me.
Anyone with the Amaze 4G for T-Mobile USA notice that it often doesn't connect to remembered WiFi networks even though they are in range and it will only connect if you go to view WiFi settings/networks under settings then it connects?
Also, anyone have any issues connecting to WiFi networks where the SSID is not being broadcast? I can get it to connect initially but it will never reconnect to a hidden SSID network that it "remembers"?
Using stock gingerbread ROM.
I notice this happens every now and then... I will have to open my WiFi networks, then before I can click on the network, it refreshes. It happens only rarely for me, but I have noticed it at times

glad im not the only one, sometimes when i get home i have to go to the wifi settings and refresh the scan, after i been home for several minutes,
had seen this on stock and faux kernel
Today out of nowhere I began getting webpages not available on my DNA. I am connected to my home wifi which I had been using for a week prior without a single problem. I changed by wifi band to 2.4 ghz only, nothing. Soft reset, nothing. Messed with some settings on my browser, nothing. Changed my wifi channel from my router and changed the wpa key and reconnected, nothing. I have no idea why it just decided to stop working. I was connected to my school wifi earlier without a problem. I'd appreciate any help
Try using a different type of WPA. One of them doesn't play nicely on my DNA.

Which WPA encryption type did you use? Maybe if one of us can recreate your problem, we can figure something out.
