Hi,
Since 4 or 3 weeks ago I started having this issue, the phone suddenly seems to be possessed, mostly when another person touches the screen. The screen starts to do random touches everywhere and the phone gets unresponsive, so I have to lock it, and unlock again to solve it temporarly.
The problem first appeared when I flashed Topsmarts ROM, then I flashed Neutrino EE 2.9 and the random touches seems to be less frequent.
Anyone has experimented this? How can I solve this?
Sorry for my ****ty english.
Same here. No idea how to fix this. Doesn't bother me that much, though. Easy to fix by a simple lock and unlock.

I just updated Sony Tablet S into 4.0.3 release 5 (via OTA). I don't know what happens to my tablet. The touchsceen is crazy, it's always touch automatically "Home", "Remote" ,"Shorcut".... even I do not touch it, it's look like error, I cannot using any software right now. Does anyone facing to this problem like me? Please show me how to fix it. I have tried using Recovery Mode and update with "signed-nbx03_001-ota-120914044.zip" but it's useless and this is error "prohibit update as result of checking version or base sku".
Can anyone please help me downgrade version to re-update? Or even flashing a new rom for this. I'm very appreciated that. I though update from OTA is no error so that I think I'll be safe when update... but now.. I stuck.
Thanks a lot.
You can do reset?

Yes, I can reset. And I tried it so many times reset. But no change! I turn on "Show Touch" in "Setting" and I see that some time they automatically touch home button, remote button... I don't know what happen

Dear ODIN!
This is my model SGPT111US/S
Lol... i never thought i would see someone having the same problem as io. I even started a thread here titled.. lower buttons going haywire. I thought my case was special cuz no one else has the same problem. To be honest im not sure on what i did to fix the problem. I tried rooting my tablet and downgrading to H.C but that ddnt work due to the r5 made some changes with the recovery. I flashed H.C 3.2.0 and ddnt work but that solve the problem partly since the rando m touches kicks in once in a while. After installing some games it returned and i did a soft reset by pressing the reset button f 15 secs and then the problem went away permanently. Its wierd since i have tried doing it many times, the soft reset, but it only worked when i failed to flash H.C 3.2.0

Can you show me how to re-flashing HC 3.2.0? I cannot root r5. And trying to make soft reset do not solve problem.
I have experienced the same random action. Buttons clicking themselves all over the place, not only taskbar and other softkeys, but also programs, and generaly the whole screen. It goes away after a reboot, but reappears from time to time. Really annoying. I am on 4.0.3 (release 6), no root or alternative software upgrade links. All direct from Sony ota. I hope they figure out these rediculous bugs soon. A market device should not have these issues..

That's really annoying.. And anyone can help us go through this issue?
Hi, I'm in the same boat as you guys.
At first I thought the problem is hardware related because my friend who also owns Sony Tablet S doesn't experience the same problem. I've tried all kinds of resets available but the random clicking just won't go away. Sometimes it's not much of a problem, sometimes it's so severe, rendering the tablet unusable. Shame the OS can't be reversed to various version.
I would like to know if you find any solution to this.

If your tablet is in the warranty period, you'd better take it to SONY. It's a better choice.
Although it out of the period, only the SONY can solve it, they are professional after all.
Another user reporting in. My STS is having the same problem. The home/back/recent apps button was clicking eventhough I didn't touch the screen. :crying:
Anyone have a solution for this?
-bump- i guess my soft reset mode doesnt work... im back to the same boat as you guys getting some random incessant clicks on the home, back and recent apps button.
how about we all contact Sony via email and flood their forums with threads such as these? in that way we might be able to gain some attention
I tried using different home launcher; Apex/Nova but issue still exist.
Do you guyz think this is hardware related problem?
i really dont think its hardware related coz there are a quite few of us experiencing this dilemma.
There must be something that triggered this problem since I'm not getting the auto clicking symptom for the past few days. Weird~

what launcher are you using and any assumption why the random clicks stopped?
Up until a few days ago my phone was running fine.
Now it randomly freezes. I've tried 3 different ROMs and a different modem/baseband. Wiped every time.
The UI still displays but it does not accept any input, although the backlighting still recognises touches.
It would suggest a hardware fault, possibly pre-SDS. Has anyone else experienced this and managed to fix it? (Assuming its not pre SDS).

could be SDS or try this one, I had the same symptoms and the thread helped me.
Seemed to do the trick for now at least.
Thanks.

So you got a replacement phone, and it's doing the same thing? If so , maybe its an app you are downloading. I never heard of this problem, and it's odd that it would happen to you 2 times in a row, if that's the case

Couldn't have said it better. I also haven't had any problems with my phone (yet). By the way, my aunt just got a Note 5 and has had countless problems with it (even more than what people have reported here). First, her phone would lock up completely randomly. Then, she got a replacement and had issues with the speakers on her phone. The problems just kept coming. She now has switched to this phone and is way happier with it.

That is not encouraging, considering these two phones are essentially exactly the same device lol.
Thanks for the suggestion on it being on of my apps......I Uninstalled "easy unrar, unzip & zip" problem seems to have gone away.....it was either that or dropbox I Uninstalled both at the same time and haven't had the problem, gonna give it another day or 2 without a reboot and attribute it to that app....
Back to the drawing board the issue just happened to come back right after that post. ......I guess I'll deal with the occasional restart and hopefully when we finally get 6.0 the problem won't come back
Having the exact same issue with my new Verizon Galaxy S6 Edge+ (received phone Dec 29) . And as the OP states, a restart temporarily fixes the issue. In addition, this is for sure a software related problem because I can rotate the phone on it's side but still will be unable to select the menu in top left corner. Rotate back vertical, not able to select menu in top left corner but can select the menu in top right corner (if there is one for the app). Sometimes I have been able to close the app, reopen and the problem is temporarily fixed.
I'm surprised this issue hasn't happened to too many other people......especially since it happened in both phones Verizon has given me, I would assume it's a wide range issue for a lot of users
Wow that's strange nothing wrong with mine except this crappy battery life. A 3700mah battery like the droid turbo 2 should be in order
Having the same issue here for a few weeks now. A reboot fixes it temporarily. I have been trying to pinpoint an app but no luck yet. It seems random.

Did anyone have tapatalk installed and receive an update today? Previously when this happened I had to reboot to clear it up. After my tapatalk update it is now working with no reboot. Could be coincidence. Not sure.

Well it was definitely tapatalk. If anyone having the issue still uninstall or update and reboot.

no tapatalk here
So I bought this device used its the WiFi model. Now I could've sworn that I checked for any thing wrong with it by just going through the software and had no issues. Now I'm not exactly sure when the problem stated but a few days after I finally decided to root unlock bootloader and flash pure nexus ROM. Now I don't know if that was the cause but my touch screen inconsistently accumulates random touches and swipes. Very frustrating like I don't even feel like using the thing half the time but I still do because its my first tablet and its pretty amazing. Even as im typing this its so annoying because every other 4 or 5 words it ends up double typing the same letter or typing a a different letter. Now I have been searching for fixes for almost 2 weeks now and failed to find anything related to this issue. So my question is has anyone experienced this problem? If so is there a simple software fix? Or is it a hardware issue because if it is a hardware issue I'm screwed because I obviously don't have warranty. Thanks in advance.
Unfortunately,I think it's hardware. But, have you tried flashing it back to stock with a factory image?

Sorry ive posted on like 3 different forums I should have specified. The taps at the top aren't me they're ghost touches which is the issue. I turned on taps so I could see where they were.
In that case I can't see any issues on the file you uploaded. Can you be more specific?

So basically I try to use my phone and what you see in the video happens. The notification centre scrolls up and down and I can't do anything. What makes me sure its software related is that if I lock and then unlock my phone it goes back to normal for 10-30 seconds before it starts again. Sorry if im not making sense
Well if you have touch sensitivity on disable it. Other than that dont downgrade to an older ROM you will brick the device because this is the only update right now that is on the 8th bootloader. All the other firmwares are on the 7th or older
I have experienced the same problem today where I was using my phome just fine but suddenly the notification menu drop down, I swiped it up but it again dropped down.. it kept happening.. the back key wasnt helping much other.. I locked and then unlocked the phone and its fine since then..
I have S9+ Exynos with April update
