Obviously I have the new Verizon GS4 and it is rooted. I have installed LMT Launcher with "file explorer" and I cannot get my pie or anything to work. Ive checked through threads and youtube and I can't figure it out. For the "set gesture input" Ive gone through the list, picking every option and it still won't work. And since I am a newb figuratively and literally I cannot post here:

Set input to 3. That is what works for me if you can't get PIE to work try to make the activation area larger.

Awesome I set activation area thickness to 40 and it shows up now.
LMT not working
Nevermind i figured it out... Had to update the version... had a bad copy.
I have installed it correctly, i have used all the input numbers, and i have even changed the activation area multiple times and i still can't get it to work. Im a noob so to say with rooting. So some help would be appreciated!

Hey everyone! I got my wife the shift 4g today and she fell in love with swype on my Epic so I got her into the beta, downloaded the installer and did all that jazz. Then I went ahead and made sure to enable it but here is where I got confused:
There was no other keyboard to disable. I shrugged it off and gave her her phone back but then she started getting frustrated. She said it wasn't letting her swype and that her keyboard didn't look like mine. I checked it out and it was the same stock HTC keyboard. I tried searching around but I can't find out how to disable the stock sense keyboard...perhaps there is a setting I'm missing but if not can someone help me with a way to get it to work? Thank you!

Just go to settings > Language and keyboards > Check the Swype check box and accept the warning
In your text box wherever you are using the stock keyboard long press and tap "Input Method" and select swype.

Wow thank you. I have no idea what was going wrong. After I installed it and selected it there was no warning that should have been my first indication that something was wrong. Anywho I rebooted her phone, re-enabled it in settings and finally was able to get long pressing a text input field to give me the input method box. Very weird.
Ultra keyboard can swipe too. Slide it. There are alternatives.
If you get swype, give sms to swype a try. It reads all your texts and adds words to the dictionary that aren't already in there (for swype).

herb, I am new to XDA and I dont know how they look upon double posting (dont feel like looking it up either) but I imagine it isn't the best thing, edit buttons save lives. =)

No problem, and really, you did a good job as you didn't actually post the file/link Just doing my job! Swype discussion or links to the official beta are ok, just no links/attached files/ways to get swype.
You guys should look into theming Swype also, Myns theme for it was pretty cool compared to the stock but his whole theme was great in my opinion.

Nah, your fine. The rule basically is, unless the phone ships with swype, don't post it. You're fine with discussing it, just no links please.
Wonder why the Evo has swype now but not our shifts.
The evo started out swypeless and later received it in an update.
I installed swipe (non beta) and it runs great!

WRONG! The Evo does in fact come with Swype now. It is now a officially supported device and was included in the latest 3.70 update. Do your research..

Hi everyone.
I am using the SalsaSense ROM. I am unable to post in that thread because I am new here, so I'm hoping someone here will be able to help me.
In the stock SMS app there is the option to delete old messages once a limit has been reached. I installed the ROM, recovered my messages, and enabled the option in the stock app with the limit set at 200. But my old messages are not being deleted. With one contact I have 7k+ messages, and since enabling the option I have sent and received several messages with them. When I had Elelinux-7.1.0-Hero-v2.6 installed beforehand, following these steps was enough to provoke it to keep my inbox in check. But not now.
Is this a problem with the ROM, or the stock app, or am I just unlucky?
I'm hoping someone here may have come across this and can help me out.

I think you've been unlucky. It sounds like a ROM problem since it's beta.
You could delete them using an app like SuperSMS Delete (I think it's that).
Yeah, guess I'll just have to wait for an update to it. I had a look round the market and found the app you were referring to. Worked a charm, thanks very much! Now my phone is a bit speedier.

I'm trying to follow the build.prop editing suggestion, but adb doesn't list my phone under connected devices. I've tried while the phone is on, and in recovery.
Is there another way of successfully editing it?
Yeah, you can use Root Explorer from the Market. ES File explorer may work too, look in the app's settings for Root options.
Navigate to the directory with the build.prop and long press and I think there's an edit option if you use Root Explorer. Then you can just edit as you would normally via the phone.

Made both changes that JieeHD suggested, then powered it off and back on. I've never seen my phone go from power button to lock screen that fast in the 2 years I've had it! I definitely notice a speed improvement from making those changes. Everything just feels sharper and more responsive.

I've tried them and can confirm they do speed things up.
Wish there was some option to use a standard notification bar, I think it would help.

I agree. I tried following the instructions in this thread but I couldn't get it to work. Has anyone else using this ROM been able to successfully do this?
I have a new Galaxy Note running ICS, successfully rooted and with Titanium Backup installed.
TB opens fine and appears to be in order, but I have no "Batch" command. I've read support pages and watched YouTube videos; the option simply isn't in the menu as it should be. Can anyone offer any suggestions, please?
Click on backup/restore and then press the menu button where by it will show you the batch option for backup and restore.

In your first screenshot, top right you've got the search icon, the one just to the right of that with the tick is the one you want

Two separate tutorials that I watched on YouTube must've been older versions as their menus looked totally different, plus everything I've read and watched indicated that Batch was part of the menu, which of course is actually isn't! I also managed to discover myself, luckily, that I don't have a "Run the batch operation" command either, just a tiny gren tick!

i tried your mod thinking replacing the file would help, nothing. (your mod once i get it a working keyboard again is what im switching to, nice work btw) i deleted the odex file as someone suggested, no better.
i thought it was a font issue because i use a custom font called Morpheus...that wasnt it.
then i was looking into it being a "stuck in pen mode" issue. but the information i saw showed a settings option bar showing up where you could hit the gear icon to access keyboard settings and another to swap out of pen mode....i never saw that bar.
the only thing i can think of i did around this time was busybox install. i did the method that replaces applets...brilliant im sure. so im assuming i ruined something somewhere in the process.

I'm on SnowJB's ROM and I've installed his QSlide add-on also. I was playing around on the internet and I saw a screenshot someone took and they have "Internet" as one of the QSlide apps. (See attached image) Mine doesn't have that. Mine only has the other 4 and the browser isn't in the "Edit" menu. How can I get that feature on my phone?
On an unrelated note, On an HTC Inspire 4g running Gingerbread, does anyone know how I can uninstall the lockscreen? I'm giving it to my dad to use as a work phone and his work requires the lockscreen password when he links his email. So I'm trying to find a workaround. I've tried apps like "No Lock"... They do not work. I know this doesn't belong here, but the Inspire forum is SLOW now
Any ideas/help would be appreciated!

That screenshot looks like it's from the OGPro. Note the different NFC symbol.
Also, the Inspire forums have always been slow. Check the Desire HD forum.
But I'm not understanding something; You want to remove the lockscreen, BECAUSE his work REQUIRES him to have it?

Aww man... I was hoping it was just a slightly different ROM or something. That's a bummer.
About the Lockscreen thing, he has an iPhone now and he hates having to type in the password every time he unlocks it. So my plan is this: Link his email to the phone and set up the password as required by his work. Then I am going to uninstall the lockscreen, hoping that I can "trick" the email server/phone. Probably won't work, but I like trying to outsmart computers I'll check out the Desire HD forums. Thanks for the reply!
