I just isntalled Purelook HD v0.1.1. After installation, the KIES software can't connect to the mobile, while the USB connection under Windows7 works perfectly. Someonbe ccan help?

I did, but issue not fixed. I have access to the internal SD card, only Samsung KIES doesn't work! No way to synchronize the agenda and contact with Outlook.

The leaked Sammy ROM seems to be the root cause of this issue. Just installed and tested with the original ROM I9300XXUFME3, and the problem of connection is still there!

Hi,
Got my Samsung Galaxy S2 mobile today. This is my first android mobile. Trying to get use to the interface and other things.
I dont have a WiFi. but my laptop is connected via a cable. Wondering if there is a possibility to get the mobile connected to internet? I want to start downloading the apps.
Can i also download apps in PC and install somehow like iTunes for iPhone/iPod?

I cant figure out how to download the app to PC and then transfer. Any help?
Don't you have 3g data or other internet connectivity to use the market? I don't know if your computer can be used as internet source, most people want to do it the other way round. I believe Samsung Kies can be used as a contact manager. I don't know of a way to install apps via a computer. If you can download the apk of the application, copy that to your phone and using a file manager install them from there.

If you don't have a wireless access point in your house you can still create one "virtually". There is lots of free/paid software for windows XP and up that will basically turn your laptop's wifi chip into what the phone see as an access point. Most these apps are really easy to use requiring no computer knowledge to set up. Just google virtual access point (insert windows version here).
As to the second question export your contact list on your nokia to a memory card as a .vcf. Insert said memory card to your galaxy s2 open contact list click the menu button and press Import/export afterwards choosing the approperiate option. Alternative would be to export your contacts to something like outlook(windows) adress book (mac) and use it as a hub to sync back the info to your new device

Best way is export from your Nokia, then import into your Gmail account using the computer. Then your contacts will sync automatically.
I'm a Nokia user too. Welcome to android, a whole different experience .

The point i am trying to make is that i cant access internet in my phone and only on my laptop. Want o know if there is a way like iPHone where we download IPA and install via iTunes or for Symbian download sis files put them in mem stick and install
Not from Android market unless you search internet for the individual apk files download to pc copy to phone and install .

Hi - I am not sure if your problem is solved or not. I have a Nokia 5800 and I selected the option (markall) and send via bluetooth. I had about 500 contacts and they were transferred without a problem.
The convoluted way of doing it is Sync using Ovisuite which syncs to Outlook. Use Go Contact Sync (Free). Syncs perfectly. U can keep Go Contact sync running so that it syncs any updates to the outlook.

suddenly i lost the usb connect with the pc. i cant use the usb mass storage. but previously there was no problem at all. now when i want to use the usb mass storage. i click "connect storage to pc" then plug in the usb cable. but after that nothing happened. the phone still showing "connect storage to pc". then i clicked it. it tells me to remove the cable... or just charging the phone. any advise on it? thank you so much.
PS. i am in vallianrom 2.4.2
This is so obvious that I'm sure you've already done it, but have you restarted your PC? If so, try it in a different USB port to rule out whether it's the PC or not.

i have tried to reboot my pc and my phone. tried on different usb port and even other pc. none of them can recognize my phone. very weird
I find in such cases a total removal of USB devices on that port followed by a removal of all Kies folders registry entries etc then reinstall works .

If it doesn't work on other PCs then it's more likely it's the phone that's the problem. If you have CWM or Titanium then I'd recommend doing a backup and doing a hard reset, just to see if it works after that.

i have wiped out everything and install the rom again but still couldnt get it done.
Hi m8, I hate to say it, but I'm afraid that if by trying with another pc, the phone does not connect, you'll have to factory reset it. I had a similar problem and that was the only solution for me.

try:
settings - applications - development - untick usb debugging retick it and try again.
It's more likely to be a problem on your phone's usb...
I had this problem on my X10 and it would only charge but never connect to mass storage... The only solution was to send it to be serviced...
Meanwhile a good solution to transfer files to your phone is to use any wireless sync app.. Like sugarsync, dropbox or Awesome Drop.
I strongly recommend using Awesome Drop for small files... Just download the app on your phone, go to their website on your pc and simply drop the file on the designed space and it will be synced with ur phone...
Very fast and easy... I never connect my phone to my PC again for file transfer...
I wouldn't use it for large file transfers though... Even though I have successfully transfered a ROM (250mb), some people had problems transfering large files through Awesome Drop... I recommend dropbox or sugarsync for those...

I have a problem with my KIES software (and with my Mozilla Firefox browser too) When on Friday, I surfed on the internet, there weren't any problems. After a time, when I went to a website, my antivir (Nod32) has popped-up a notification, that trojay (iframe) found, moved to quaranten, at this website.
Then I restarted my system. When the computer turned on, I got a Windows problem window, that Kies.exe has shut down unexpectedly, we apologize for inconvenience (or something similar to this in English I think, sorry I use hungarian Windows ) .
Then I wanted to start the Kies program, but everytime the same window popped up. If I don't do anything with the window, Kies will start in the background, but it is not the normal thing. The same thing is happening with Firefox too. I have tried everything (in my opinion, but I'm not sure in it... I can't be sure in it ), with Firefox, but nothing helped. Maybe, if I try to make something good with Kies, I can start Firefox too.
Have you ever experienced the same problem? Could you help me, please?

Still problems then its PC Virus Trojan related probably .

1. config your AV to all activity with Kies and said wep pages.
2. D/L new Kies and install
3. Roll back system if poss to an earlier date when your systems was working fine.

I have tried uninstall and reinstall Kies and Firefox too, but the problem is still here. I have made a full scan in Eset NOD32, but there weren't trojan/virus found on my computer.

I tried to allow Kies.exe in the antivir, but nothing
I tried reinstall Kies, and Firefox, but nothing
I haven't tried roll back system never, but in my opinion, it will be the next thing, but only if there aren't any new helps

Kies is not working after upgrading to latest OTA. It never worked over USB but workedover over WiFi. Now it says something along "Sim card not inserted". So I cannot put my music in my tablet... Is there any other method to transfer files???

IDK if this will help, but you could try using a 3rd party storage system such as dropbox, but it will take longer as you have to upload the files from PC/Computer to dropbox, then download them onto your tab... check what build number you have (setting>about device) as that can also help iidentify you're problem (I had my own problem with Kies, solved by a thread called "Messed up by Android 3.2? Here's a way back." (i am not allowed to post links, sorry just google it))
I had a problem with build P7510UEKGM (or something like that)
Maybe even try the troubleshooting feature on the usb mode of Kies?

Kies is a program that often fails, I have read numerous posts about people having to reinstall Kies 3/4 times in order to get it working again properly for their device.
Try to reinstall or try to remove your drivers from your pc, install Kies, and it's drivers, when you connect the tab again.

i'm trying to use Kies to export my contacts to the PC but when it reaches 60% this error occurs "Stopped loading GT-I9100's contacts" although i used it from 3 weeks ago and it was working fine , i tried many times and still getting the same error . My kies version is 2.2.0.12014_18 , SII stock version. IS there something wrong with the phone or in Kies?!!

1. Try to un-install KIES and re-install it.
2. Try to use another USB port/cable.
3. Don't use KIES. Just upload your contacts into your Google account and let your phone synch contacts from there. So you do not need to backup your contacts with KIES to your PC. Let Google backup your contacts on their servers ;-)

I tried all above and still getting the same error !!! the werid thing i wanna know what happened it was working fine since 3 weeks ago !!
You installed something on your device and updated your PC since the last sync.
Search for myphoneExplorer. It's nearly the same as kies, but more stable and usefull. Kies sucks
