So I just restarted my phone after doing nothing particular and it just will not boot. It gets to the Samsung screen with the Unlocked Lock that says 'Custom' and it just freezes there. I pulled the battery and boot again, nothing. I booted into recovery and wiped it all and re-flashed the bebloated ROM, still won't boot. Anyone have any other suggestions???

sounds stupid, but try whiping it like 2-3 times in a row and then reboot
Try http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2301259 and let us know. I have the very same issue with my phone but ended up giving up and getting verizon to replace it but would really like to know if this works.

Take out the SD card and try a reboot...if that doesn't work.....its odin time.
did you pull the battery for 10 seconds and retry?

I have the same problem. The only rom I can boot is slim bean.
i have had this happen to me and the only way i was able to fix was to odin back to stock grab this

(which i have to restore once a day).... every time the phone dies or or battery comes out, there no way of starting without wipe and restore, and even then it doesn't let me boot into twrp until a few tries also once in a while my twrp asks for a password, which ive never put on.. so anyways if theere are any new suggestions id be happy to try them out

Hi.
Met a problem with my GT-I9300. When I shut the phone off it just reboots. The phone was rooted and running a custom rom when this started. Now I have unrooted with mobile Odin and flashed a official firmware but the problem persists.
I have even tried a battery pull. When battery is inserted again the phone remains off til I push the powerbutton. But when I try to turn it off after this it just reboots again.
Anyone else had this? Tips on what to do?
I've never had any luck fixing this problem. I always had to wipe and flash. However, as a temporary fix, you can power off from recovery.

can I ask what you are doing when you turn it off?

Just to clarify, even wipe the phone and restore it to stock completely by flashing official firmware doesnt solve it.
When I turn it off I hold powerbutton til i get the powermenu. From there I choose "turn off". Phone does what it should, screen goes off and everything, only a few seconds later the phone boots again.

If the phone was totally cleaned formatted sd card and stock firmware installed then its a hardware problem .
But my guess is it as not totally clean .
....................................
Clean Slate for those that balls up the firmware .Or need to return to service or decide if its hardware/firmware problem .
Backup data first if phone is working .
Boot CWM recovery
Mounts and Storage
Format cache data system sd card .
Remove battery
Boot to download mode
Open Odin
Install correct stock firmware .
jje
I have now tried to wipe and format sys/data/cach/sd in cwm. Flashed stock firmware via odin. Still same issue. Guess its hardware.
Thanks anyway.
This may sound strange, but is this the clock problem the Desire HD had.
In time settings, uncheck the auto update.
Change time & date to something random.
Power off and pull the battery before it reboots.
Give it a min, power up, reselect auto update and reboot.
Should be good to go. If its the same problem that is.

It happened also to me once. I flashed my rom in the same order as you did. But what my problem solved was, I made a wipe AFTER I installed the ROM. After that, I didn't had this issue anymore.
These are the steps I did...
- Get into the CWM recovery
- Wipe Data/factory reset
- Wipe Cache
- Wipe Dalvik-Cache
Hope it works also to you...
Solved
I solved it by flashing a later official firmware - XXALF6.

Hello,
i found a solution for that problem. You will lose some sd card files.
go to settings-storage-others (or other) and mark all files. Then delete them an go to downloadmode to reflash you firmware. Reboot and the problem is missing.
ok i had download odin, and flashed everything went great, it reset and just hung on the boot logo for like 5 min, then installed TWRP and flashed Superuser and wiped cache and dalvik and then rebooted, same thing it will not get past the att boot logo, i do not have kies installed but i do have the usb drives. could that be and issues?

If you used Odin kies wouldn't be involved. I had similar problem. I did a complete wipe (both caches, system and data) then installed via Odin again. Now all is good.

also rebooted into stock recovery and factory resetted. FInally booted, give it some time (likke 5-10 minutes) after the ATT logo freeze, Its probably building the bloatware cache.
Keep in mind installing this rom is a change of rom base and not just a little tweek -- all the wipes we usually do and backups of everything should be done to ensure a clean install.
It is a nice stock rom, and I was shocked at the amount of at&t bloat included.

Lololol bloatware cache
It's building the dalvik cache, just like every Rom does when you wipe dalvik cache, or factory reset as dalvik is on the data partition.
AT&T are just freaking amateurs, they didn't make the boot animation loop at all... so once it's done and is building the cache. It appears to have just stopped there.
Hey guys,
I was just wondering what the general consensus is on which recovery is the most preferred.
I was using TWRP 2.6, but that gave me problems (being stuck on samsung logo everytime my phone rebooted). Reverted back to 2.5.0.2 and it seems to work fine so far. I did try CWM in the past but for some reason my boot loader would get locked and I would have to ODIN back to stock.
So what's your preferred recovery and why?
Thanks.

I like TWRP. It works well with the new phone and Roms that are coming out plus it is so easy to use. Never liked CWM very much. You did right by reverting to an older version of TWRP I had to do that once.
TWRP... i don't even consider anything else.
Do you guys know why my phone gets stuck on the samsung logo everytime i restart my phone?
Doesn't matter what ROM i use it always happens....
Did you do a factory reset, system wipe, preload wipe, cache wipe, and dalvik wipe? Or try fix permissions from recovery?
If not, go do all of those.
If that doesn't work, something is missing from the system partition that is keeping it from booting. Which means you deleted it. :good:

I flased cwm, but it's not fully loading, it gets stuck.. it only shows cwm version.. and noting else.
I tried all the cwm out there for the device but all same problem.
I also tried some custom kernel, but also no luck there, still reboots on the logo.
And another problem is, when I try to Wipe Data/Cache in the stock recovery, it wipes the data, but gets stuck on wiping cache, then I have to pull out the battery to start again
Update: I can Wipe Data/Cache, but rest are same.

My S duos keep rebooting!!!
Hi i have a problem in my device s Duos 7562, it was working well but now it keep rebooting till samsung logo then restart again...again ..... again....
it keep restarting till removing battery, i know i can make system restore (home+power+volum) but i need to restore my data, no any way to repair it without deleting my data????
and be mentioned that my device is unrooted
please helpppp......
i flashed the official stock rom but it could not solve the problem........... what to do now???
I was on JB rom and updated to the new beta test rom and the following happened.
I installed 2.0.0 Beta on phone not storage card. I then made a back up before I flashed the rom then wiped cache, dalvic cache and system three times. I then installed rom, it booted up to my unlock pattern screen.
Now here is the problem every time I put in my unlock pattern the phone goes black comes back on to the unlock pattern screen again? I must have put in my unlock pattern 10 times and 10 times it goes black and starts up in the unlock screen. This does not appear to be a reboot more like a small shut down? I pulled battery same thing, I reinstalled 2.0.0 Beta, same thing.
So I restored my backup and the phone now goes to the boot up Samsung screen and tone, then goes to unlock pattern for a few seconds and back to Samsung boot up screen? Pulled the battery twice and same thing happened will not go pass the boot up Samsung screen and tone.
So I then go to recovery wipe everything Cache, dalvic, data and system. Restore the back up again and the phone does the same thing goes to the boot up Samsung screen and tone, then goes to unlock pattern for a few seconds and back to Samsung boot up screen? Keep just doing this pattern?
I then tried to restore to stock using ODIN and installed N900PVPUBMI5_N900PSPTBMI5_N900PVPUBMI5_HOME.tar.m d5 from JB's file and I get a fail each time?
I then downloaded KERNEL-SPR-N900PVPUBMI3-1378528567.tar and it installed passed but now I am stuck in the Samsung screen?
Any help with clear directions to unroot and restore to stock rom with location of files to use I would be grateful for.
