Not to be a ball buster, but I can't tell the difference between CM, AOKP, RB and PA. Until you go in and change settings that is. Or the boot animations and wallpapers.. But in the end, it's pretty much the same. Give RootBox or AOKP a try and just don't mess with the settings lol.

So we have CM9 and AOKP can someone please port the stock ICS? Even better maybe with Sense 4.0 overlay it'd be epic
First and foremost...CM9 (and thus AOKP) are not complete..the 3.xx kernel and camera are still left and it is still in beta stage...
secondly..maclaw did say AOSP ICS is coming soon...so wait...its already been thought about by the devs...
first of all cm9 without cm tweaks(the settings , theme chooser and trebuchet launcher?) = stock ics
so if u want stock ics experience dont use the cm tweaks
secondly sense 4 sucks it doesnt look at all like ics so it is a huge no-no for most users
thirdly
peace out

Totally agree, think all manufactures should stop making there skins and use AOSP.

I notice some roms say CM-10
So the case here is these roms are usually based off the stock rom with a few twists OR if it's a CM10 rom its built from scratch up and some features may not work?
So why get CM10 roms over stock roms with a twist(King Kang,GubmentCheeze,BlackStar) because these stock influenced roms look like the rom that came with my note when I got it 4 days ago but just added a few themes and maybe changed the CPU speed or something.
I'm just trying to figure out the whole CM10 thing that you see in the title of most roms
Cm10 is cyanogenmod 10. In my opinion a much cleaner and smoother android. The other ROMs are mostly based off official ICS update. Scattered around are some more specialty versions of android like Paranoid.

Is there anyway to flash the stock note 2 camera back but keep everything else?
What rom are you talking about?
I'm guessing not TW cause they all use the same stock camera, if you're on AOSP then Unfortunately there is no way to have the TW camera.

I am using LiquidSmooth 2.5
Can you suggest another ROM that uses the stock camera? the one in LiquidSmooth makes me want to hurt someone!
Well liquidsmooth is AOSP so if the camera is of importance you have to use something TW based.
Jellybeans by beanstown gives that AOSP look with stability of TW. I run tweaked.
I'm looking for a Rom that has a stock android look and feel, like the stock status bar and stock look for settings, while still maintaining a great camera and gallery app, preferably the touchwiz ones. The air gestures are nice to but not absolutely necessary. A stock android like lock screen is also a must.
Any help is appreciated

The Wicked Rom is pretty neat. Cear of bloatware.. Its TouchWiz. This is the fist Rom I tried and have not switched sinxe I flashed it. I have been very happy with it.

When you say Stock Android look and feel do you mean AOSP?
Hyperdrive has a lot of options for pretty much every apsect of the rom
Eclipse S4 TW Edition is basically a TW rom with the look and feel of AOSP. Those are the two best in my opinion. If you're really trying to get down to nearly pure AOSP programs and stuff you can check out Andybone's Barebones Rom too. It just depends on how AOSP like you wanna go.

My ROM doesn't have anything AOSP
An AOSP theme is coming thanks to nito for giving me the permission to use his work.
Tried your Rom, was great but I didn't like how the Rom settings say there is an aosp lock screen but nothing happens when I toggle it. Also you need to add a default music player, be it Samsung's or play music. Also hated how it doesn't restore all apps, had to manually do that.

Lol. Wasn't necessarily talking about theming but more about the removal of more things that some people consider bloatware (all the extra Samsung cool guy features) but after relooking I think I was thinking of someone else's ROM. Yours is one of the first ME7 based roms. My bad Andy.

If you are talking about my ROM..
Google auto restores your apps,...
Not ROM related.
also there is NOTHING wrong with the AOSP lock screen,
and Samsung Music is found in Aroma, choose hub..
I suggest doing a FULL CLEAN install, and NOT installing anything outside my thread.
I can only assume you flashed an android.policy.jar and that broke the AOSP lock screen. User Error.
Also I don't include ANY app you can download from the play store.. why would I?
waste of space.
Everything you hate about my ROM can all be solved by fixing your user errors, and a little research.

VERY true lol. But again I wasn't sure how close to "stock android look and feel" the OP wanted to go.

These type posts are not allowed as they turn into arguments over which rom is best, and best rom threads get summarily closed as users are expected to read, study and make their own determinations as to what they want on a rom.
XDA is not a support site, it is here for developers and for those interested in the plight.
Is there a way to get an AOSP Dialer and Contacts apk onto a Sammy Rom? Using a rooted 4.1.2.
Or are there any alternatives to the original apks?

Thanks, but I don't want to change roms. I used so many roms and there always was something that didn't work...I just want to use the original Rom...just not the dialer.
Chamelion is Samsung stock based, with aosp/aokp tweaks added. So everything 'stock' works.....
and with respect, if you'd checked it out rather than dismissing it out of hand, you'd have known that.........
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
I DID look at it, and for my taste it's too much AOKP and not enough Sammy. What I really want is my rom with AOSP dialer. No other Tweaks etc...
Maybe I got the wrong, but I want to stay as much Sammy as possible. The last 2 years I was experimenting with hundreds of roms and kernels and at some point there was a glitch or something that annoyed the hell out of me.
So I just want to integrate the AOSP dialer into this rom
You *might* be lucky enough to find something like that in the 'themes and apps' section, but like it or not, the way to go is likely to be one of the 'hybrid' ROMs.........
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
Try xposed module and with the help of theme engine and use of theme apk i think simplex you should be able to get the aosp look
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
You can't have it, because the frameworks are different. And if you're not happy with the ports that people have put a lot of time & effort into, do your own port.

try swipe dialer from the market. Very aosp like dialer and very fast too
Try this one. I installed it in XWMS3 NeatROM Lite v5.9 Aroma (4.1.2) and it's working good. I think it's multi DPI because i used it with 198,182 DPI and no problems so far.
