Has anyone tried the Trident Kraken cases? They're $15 on Amazon and I was considering giving it a try.

I would highly recommend the Otterbox Commuter case...

You can find it cheaper on other sites. I put tried trident on my phone at a BB and wasn't happy with how the rubber was not tight, just like the Otterbox Defender case. But if you end up pulling the trigger, post a few pics as I possibly could have tried one that someone had returned.

Trident update
I've been using this case for about a week and a half overall impression is that it would definitely protect my phone if I dropped it. The Silicone sleeve fits a bit loose but once the outer case is on it's secure. The screen protector caught dust faster than any other one I've put on so I'm not using it. It bulks up the phone but that's the cost of the protection. It almost hides the Verizon tag on the front but would rather have all or none.

How much thickness does it add. Just can't deal with a thick phone.

It's just a little thinner than the trident. But I hate to say the rubber has gotten extremely loose. So much, I can pull it almost off on the bottom. I will post some pictures when I get a chance.
Nick
The Kraken adds about 75% to the thickness and just a few mils around the edges.
I have had the otter box cummunter case for over a year. It did get loose around the bottom.
Otter box has a great warranty. If you go to there website, you can file a claims witch will include 2 pictures. They will send you a new replacement case.
The cummunter is a little thinner other there defender case. I'm currently trying out the defender. They sent me the wrong case and told me to keep it and re-sent the commuter case.
If you do get a otter box case and its getts loose but don't want to use there great warranty. Then you can just put the rubber part in hot to boiling water for about a minute. Followed up with ice cold water. It will tighten the rubber right up.
I haven't had a trident case. They look like about the same size or slightly bigger then the defender.
The Kraken is only $10 on Amazon now I picked up a second one with a black sleeve and a mount so I can toss it on my bike to replace by bike computer. Everything has held up well and it takes falls well....

Are there any cases that work with the HTC dock?
I don't think so... Seidio and Kidigi make dock that work with certain cases though, as do the generic ebay one may work with some case
Yeah that looks to be true.... I may just have to use a skin.

Yeah I have a TPU case but it's too thick to fit into the HTC dock.
I have the dock unfortunately the only thing that will work will be the stick on skins...

I just carved my HTC dock to fit my Laza 3460 Mah Battery case. Do so at your own peril. Remember any tool can be the right tool, I used a saw to cut off most of the support lip, and a razor knife to carve the slot bigger. Lots of sanding with emery file to smooth it out. Be very careful, the guts are right under the top. This is a job not recommended for hemophiliacs. When your all done I would sand the whole top to give it a even look (Your going to scratch the living **** out of it).

I got the Defender on my phone right now....and honestly, I'm slowly killing it. The little plastic clips are breaking, and the charging port cover is half ripped....I need a new case. I really want it to come with a holster though.
Who else makes a solid case & holster for this phone?
I love the Seido Platinum case I bought when I first got the EVO. It's slim and durable. I'm a cable tech and the case still looks brand new, the holster has a gash in it but it's not noticeable. The only problem I do have with it is my phone tends to reboot if I don't position it correctly when I'm driving. The phone's power button gets pushed into the holster causing the thing to reboot.

I have the otterbox commuter case and the seidio active holster. You need to buy them separately but it's like they were made for each other. It's a good combo. I work construction and haven't had any problems.
That`s what i have, the otterbox commuter and the seidio holster both very durable and very strong, and it fits like a charm, go that direction and you wont be disappointed, you should get both for under 40 on ebay.
I've been happy with the one I bought at the Sprint store. It was only 30 came with holster. I use it daily, slim and great clip.

I have a Seidio Surface case and holster.
To be honest, I dont like it at all. I've had the seidio surface cases on my previous phones and loved them, but the issue with this one it that the buttons on the Evo 4G LTE's Surface case has raised buttons laying overtop of the real buttons on the phone rather than cutouts like the version for the Evo3D had. I am constantly rebooting or turning down the volume or whatever else.
The fix for seidio would be to have cutouts for the buttons instead of raised inserts. I would love to find one with cutouts instead.

My new Otter Box - Commuter Series. I find it far better than Spigen case, the feeling holding it is awesome! Recommended, well protect and not over bulky.

It came with free screen protector but I never use it as I hate SP. Hehe.
I buy at Malaysia. I believe mine is genuine, If not I not sure what to said already.
The shop I went is listed under http://kwsdis.com/location.html and KWS is listed as Malaysia Authorised Distributor at Otter Box official site.

It's "brushed" plastic with side grips.
If you put it on a kitchen counter, and try to operate the phone and swipe the keyboard, does the phone spin? If you put it on your pant leg, does it slide off easy?
That thing is slippery as heck. I took mine back after trying it on in the car. Good lip on it though for screen protection. I also like the cut out for the S Pen, very easy to get to. But this isn't the case for me.
I also think it's very slippery. I'm going to return mine and keep using my incipio dualpro. The otterbox is fantastically tough but it's too slippery for me
Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
I always put my phone at desk camera face up, so no slippery for me.
It is nice hold in hand than Spigen Slim Armor, but yes it is much slippery if you put at desk camera face down.
this otterbox is looking really very nice....this is not available on amazon and ebay.....did you get it from the official web site..????

Thank you for sharing the pictures.
I have a more clear idea of how bulky the Commuter Case is.
Hi everyone! Just recently got this behemoth of a phone, and it is just too beautiful to go naked bc if I dropped it, it's over. So that saying, my mom has a Galaxy note 2 and she has a case-mate POP case from AT&T on clearance for like $5, and it's a solid case. I want a case similar to this case, where if the phone landed on it's face, it won't be damaged a lot since there's enough lip on the case. This won't really be a major factor since I will be putting a tempered glass protector on it. The major thing I'm trying to find is a case where it won't eat a lot of lint if you do fit it in your pocket, and won't slip off at the corners if you do drop it! I have seen cases that is made out of just TPU claiming tight fit, but as soon as it lands, the phone goes one way and the case goes the other, and also the battery....
I have seen the spigen slim armor, and it looks solid compare to the neo-hybrid. All the other cases are too bulky, like the lovemei, or the ballistic series. Please list your suggestion, and real life photos of the case, including the lip clearance on the screen if you can so I can make my decisions Thanks a lot once again!:good::fingers-crossed:
Slim Armor is a good option if you don't want too much bulk. This case fits very snugly and won't come off unless you pill it off. It provides only modest drop protection though. If you want really good protection an Otterbox commuter or similar such as trident aegis would be better. Those cases make the phone significantly larger though.

I just got the spigen neo hybrid and it's a really nice slim case. I love the styling. Seems like it should be adequate protection for normal use. I just got it today though so not going to comment on the long term.

I've been using my note 3 naked till I got a rock joyful case. It increased the width but not the thickness of the overall feel and it's harder to remove the s-pen but it give me a safer feeling when using it without worrying if drop compared to naked!

Even I have that case it's pretty good but I don't like that plastic rim feels cheap, now using UAG navigator probably the best case for our device imo

thank you all for your answer! The urban armor looks decent but still pretty thick. The otterbox series I don't like since that's over bulking, the spigen slim armor is possibly the best case imo but I don't know how good it is until one of the guy here said it's pretty tight fit

I have one of these cases..probably the best things ever. Had one for my S4 previously, and it took so much damage! My phone is a big thicker now, but it's protected without being otterbox thick
I have both a UAG and otterbox commuter. Used to use those cheap tpu case and I thought it was fine until I dropped any bent my speaker grill.
Ever since then, I'm addicted to UAG. Beware of fakes though. I feel the otterbox a bit too heavy to use.

I saw this at Best Buy, it's kind of pricey but it fit super snug to the phone and added minimal bulk. I was about to buy it. What do you think? It has the magnetic kickstand and also comes with the belt holster.

The case isn't bad but to me its kind of expensive. I have it currently but I don't use the holster. The phone also sits up off the table with the bottom higher than the top because of the kick stand and that kind of bothers me but thats a personal annoyance =) I do love the feel of the Ez Grip texture though, feels nice, and really easy to clean.
I bought this case n holster and I only use the holster. The case for me is to slippery. I got an lg circle case from sprint and fits perfectly with this holster.

I got this case when I bought the phone simply because it was the only one available at BB. Have been pleasantly surprised although I don't use the holster. The grip is quite tacky so I feel comfortable when holding with one hand, yet it fits in a pocket amazingly well. Feels smaller in my pocket than my GS3 did with the body glove drop suit case.

The Platinum from Best Buy is just a rebranded version of the Seidio. I got the Seidio and love it.
I love these cases. My last 4 phones used these cases . Saved my butt several times from dropping onto the ground and grandkid(s) abuse. Use with care , screen protectors have a tendency to lift on the sides when putting on or taking off this case.
,,.................peace Brian
Looks good. But it's too bulky for me. But thanks for sharing
I almost bought this, but have Amazon prime & knew I could wait 2 days. I bought 2 cases, 1 being a Folsom case (I think it's Folsum) & the other, same idea, not sure the brand, but the second one uses the rubber flaps like over charging port. I also bought a 10 pack of skins. Of course it's really a 3 pack as I won't be using purple, pink, yellow etc. I prefer the skins as I'm extremely careful with phone. I use no screen protector either. Only spent about $20 for the total of 12 cases. Good deal.
