So I have the SGS II of my sister here.
She told me that the phone freezed and when she rebooted it, it only showed the bootlogo for hours.
I tried to flash a new firmware with Odin but it keeps giving me the message that it failed.
When I boot the phone up regularly, it shows the message "firmware upgrade encountered an issue. please select recovery mode in kies & try again".
It isn't rooted or modded in any way and is branding free.

turn off the phone and instead of holding vol down to get into recovery mode, do vol up + home + power, you can then do a factory reset and flash a stock rom as normal through odin. just worked for me!

I already tried but it only gives me the bootlogo
And I meant Vol up + home + power in the previous post
Vol down gets me to download mode
You need to press the combo for 7 sec, it'll reboot a couple of times before going to recovery.

First off... if your using odin then you need to go into download mode
Button Combos:
Download Mode: Volume Down+Home+Power

So you have the Galaxy SII I9100 and not the Galaxy SII I9100G?
I am saying this because a pal of mine managed to flash I9100 Firmware on his I9100G device and he had a similar Odin error.
Like kengcc said, go into Odin mode and press volume up to continue through the warning and then connect to Odin. It should recognize your device and then Flash the Firmware.
can you go into download modus? If not, usb jig could help.

Hi everyone !
I have an International S3, which was running last CM10 Nightly (also last CWM Touch). I wanted to try the new Official Stock Jelly Bean rom from Poland, exactly as it is explained here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PSt8b5D2dM&feature=my_watch_later_videos&list=WL2B339812AF4545BF
http://www.androidauthority.com/galaxy-s3-i9300-android-4-1-1-jelly-bean-official-upgrade-118073/
I thing I did everything just fine, but after the flashed has finished, I'm just having a Samsung Logo lighting on and off, and nothing else is happening after, just that damn logo...

It also seems that CWM recovery has been removed. And when i use the toolkit V5, he just do not detect anything... :/
What can I do to get this fixed ? Or at least, have a working CWM recovery so I can restore the CM10 backup I made on the external SD ?
Thank you very much guys, and sorry if that has already been asked and answered somewhere else, I searched (quickly) and didn't found something like that.
Go to recovery (holding power, vol + and home button), wipe data/factory reset, cache and probably you'll be fine
Ok, so apparently I DID NOT exactly follow the same process as showed in the video above: i did not hard reset the phone...............
Anyway, as I no longer have CWM, how to do that ? .... :/
Again, thank you very much for your help !

Do you have a Canadian version of the note? If so you have to disconnect the phone from the pc as soon as Odin shows PASS, pull the battery from the phone, put the battery back in the phone and enter recovery with the vol + and - and the power button.
My mom broke her Galaxy S III (T-Mobile SGH-T999) somehow. Overnight, it just randomly stopped working and won't boot past the logo screen. I tried getting into recovery mode, but every time I actually get it to say "recovery booting," it immediately vibrates and then goes back to logo cycling and won't let me do anything in recovery. I can, however, get it into Odin mode, so I tried going into it and flashing the firmware with Odin 3.10.6. Every time I do, I get the big red FAIL and it throws this error:

Hello everyone,
I have installed Resurrection Remix (Resurrection_Remix_KK_v5.1.5-20140609-i9100) and suddenly my phone turned off and stucked at the boot logo.
I can't start the recovery mode only the download mode is possible.
I have tried to reflash the recovery but it doesn't work. I have tried different cables and PCs without any success. I also tried different odin versions.
I think I have a NAND rw issue.

I just want to save as much as possible.

Do you installed Samsung drivers firstly? If no, download this and install. Restart PC.
If yes,
Download this kernel (Apollo kernel with TWRP) and flash it! after, you can install what ROM do you want! If you want KK install CM11-M12.
Hit Thanks button if I helped you!
