Hi,
I have a Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II, (SCH-1605), and I have apparently soft-bricked / boot-looped my device.
I followed droidstyle's tutorial titled, "[GUIDE][VZW Edition]How to Root/Rom/Return to Stock the VZW Galaxy Note II!."
Installed Odin on my Win8 x64 desktop
Downloaded the proper pit and tar files from his tutorial
ran odin from the "downloading" screen
How can i fix my phone and/or reset it to factory condition?
What may have caused my phone to boot-loop?
P.S. (I still wish to root the phone and try some custom roms once it is operational)
try flashing root66 with no pit file.
Thank you for your response.
I tried flashing with "rooot66_VZW_stock_system.tar.md5," in both bootloader and PDA slots in Odin3 v1.85.
I ran at least one attempt of both with and without the pit file. The yellow highlighting is present.
The phone still seems to be in a boot-loop. Could it be that I'm using the wrong Samsung Drivers on my PC? They were plug-and-play as far as I could tell. I did run the OTA updates before I knew they had something to do with locking down the bootloader.
Below I will paste the various Odin logs...

Ok what you need to do is reflash root66 in pda with pit, power the device off, press and hold the volume up/home/power buttons and boot into recovery, then wipe data/factory reset, and reboot.

and dont flash anything in bootloader...simply trying random techniques is a good way to turn your device into a paper weight.

After flashing with Odin you must do a factory reset.
I also had this on my Galaxy S2 Plus.

Thank you. I was previously unaware of the power/home/vol.up combination for factory reset. I re-flashed root66 in PDA w/ the PIT file, however this time it went to the android with a neutron-like animation inside signifying updates. It worked w/o running a reset, but I ran one anyways to ensure I know how it works.
Again, thank you for your support.

Please help. I dont know what else to do. Thanks so much.
I literally have tried everything. Not sure if the .tar is incorrect, or what is happening. Phone wont turn on though, its stuck on the samsung logo boot.
Have you:
Tried a different usb cable (or several)?
Tried a different usb port?
Tried a different OS?
Tried a different version of Odin?
Tried redownloading the files?
Tried stock 2.2 Froyo instead?
Looks like it was the USB cable. Damn i spent like 2 hours researching and trying everything . Thanks for the response bro. Have a good one.
No problem, it's always the last thing you think of. Glad you got it though

Do you have a Canadian version of the note? If so you have to disconnect the phone from the pc as soon as Odin shows PASS, pull the battery from the phone, put the battery back in the phone and enter recovery with the vol + and - and the power button.
My phone will no longer start up, it stays black, no loading whatsoever. I can no longer access my recover mode, but can still get to my download mode. No matter what I do, I can't load a stock ROM back on the phone.

My PPA is I9100MUGMA5
this is the rom I tried to put back I9100MUGMA5_I9100OYCMA5_I9100MUGMA5_HOME.tar.md5
I am at a complete dead end, if someone has any suggestions please help

Let try to run your Odin as Adminstrator if you use Win 7 or Win 8
Hoper8's 'Odin troubleshooting' thread. Search for it, try the stuff in the thread.
I've followed the super easy instructions on how to use CF Auto Root but still cannot make it all the way through the first part of the root process. It starts running fine and then stops at NAND Write Start. At one point it got past that but failed at again.

Earlier it said something about the PIT partition, but I can't seem to find a 32GB pit file for the Sprint S5 - and it's not saying that any more. I am kind of at a loss here, and now my phone won't boot at all. What else can I do?
Thanks!
Try a different computer, seriously man. I had the same issue. Had to use my dinosaur Windows XP Setup for it to work.
Ive been trying to fix my Samsung S3 GT- I9300, stuck on Samsung Logo, when i go to android system recovery, i get alot of errors, starting with cant mount efs then followed by alot of red colored errors, data factory reset , wipe partitions, wipe cache is giving errors also, when i go to download mode and tried flashing thru Odin with stock firmware from sammobile using only the PDA/AP

Try flashing the latest TWRP through Odin. Download it from their website 2.8.6.1 in .tar format and flash. Then flash the stock firmware.
