Want to keep stock in system 1 and flash CM10.1 in system 2
Can stock keep use stock kernel after flashed 3rd party kernel for system 2 - CM10.1 ??
Thanks
Cm10.1 uses kexec kernel so your stock kernel will be untouched because kexec kernel bypasses it so your can flash cm10.1 con system 2 and leave stock un system1 , i hace done that and i have no issues

You don't need to be running stock ICS to flash CM 9.1 .But you have to do a full wipe before flashing CM 9.1. And yes you definitely have to flash the kernel of CM 9.1.
All you need is a custom recovery to flash whatever version of Android that's available for your phone. You don't need to be running a stock version prior to it. And you need to flash the CM9.1 kernel before flashing the ROM. Kernels get flashed along with the ROM usually, but some phones need the kernel to be flashed separately due to partially unlockable bootloaders. When the bootloader is fully unlocked, the boot.img can be flashed to the /boot partition in recovery itself. But for phones with only partially unlockable bootloaders, the boot.img has to be flashed separately using a computer.
Thanx for the reply..... I have an u locked boot loader but i guess in Xperia devices kernel cant be flashed with Cwm recovery.......

As far as I know kernel will be something like boot.img. I never use safestrap before. I don't know if safestrap has option to flash kernel. If it doesn't the you have to find zip flashable kernel not the img kernel.

Yes, you are right... I need to flash .zip based kernel instead of .IMG file.
SS is not having facility to flash .img file....should I migrate from SS to BMM ??
Or are there any .zip based flash able kernel available for SS?
Can anyone please help me on this ??

I'm also using BMM that can flash boot.img directly. But I think you can do this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2078021
CAREFULL: use just the kernel flashing part of the guide: fastboot flash boot boot.img
and be sure you flash the correct boot.img that you downloaded. you can download the right kernel from the other artur mode:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2260951
one more thing. I never done that after SS was installed. So better wait for others to confirm that it's OK before you actually doing this.
Maybe you can also try this tool to flash kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2399385
He says it support any fastboot device.
Thanks bro.. Ill surely try this

Friends,
This is what I understand after reading few relavent threads as given below
- First I need to backup my Stock ICS kernel and CID using BMM
- Then reboot phone, select System_2 froom BMM bootmenu ( as i want to install EU JB on System_2)
- In the BMM, I need to delete CID then flash Artmod EU JB kernel
- Then wipe cache, dalvik cache
- Now I have to flash EU JB ROM
- pl confirm : should I have to restore CID or not in last step?
Now I'll be on STOCK EU Jelly Bean 4.1.2 on my System_2 slot.... M i correct?
Pl. Guide... prompt response is highly appreciated...thanks

You don't have to erase your Cid if you are from Europe, otherwise yes.
And if this is your first time that you want to install some rom on System 2,you must activate the partition.
Here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2325764 are some video tutorials how to use BMM.

If I flashed kernel with BMM to system 2, will this kernel also impact on System 1 ??
Or System 1 and 2 will use different kernel ??
Thanks
on bmm there are several ROM slots but only one boot.img - kernel. so it does affect to other slots... fe. ics on stock and jb based on slot 2 ( to use ics u will have to flash old kernel back) . only kexec roms use their own one .
I have flashed cm10.2 on system 2 with JBX kernel, that's mean this kernel not affect stock kernel of stock jb on system ??
thanks

I'm also interested in knowing that.
I think jbx won't impact the stock one (system 1) if you flash it on system 2 with bmm..

I'm with stock rom 4.3 (GNA8) and Boeffla Kernel 5.3 beta5
I want to test UltimaROM v17.0 Diablos BETA. The Boeffla Kernel for this rom is "Samsung JB 4.4.x kernel" version right?
Yes, use this one

Thank you.
Should I first install the kernel or the rom? Because I have a kernel for 4.3 and will install a rom 4.4.
You need V6 of Andi's kernel. First install the ROM and let it boot. There were issues with the cam when using a custom kernel without opening the cam with stock kernel one time after boot >> open cam one time, see if it works and then reboot to recovery and flash boeffla kernel. Then you are done.

Do you mean install a stock kernel, install ultimarom and then install the boeffla kernel v6? If so, what stock kernel do you suggest?
http://boeffla.df-kunde.de/sgs3/boeffla-kernel/Series 6.x (JB 4.4.x)/6.0/
or beta
http://boeffla.df-kunde.de/sgs3/boeffla-kernel/Test_jb44/
Andi is Lord Boeffla's real first Name
Stock kernel is the standard kernel which is included in UltimaRom and will be installed when you flash the ROM . Just install the ROM and let it boot after finishing.

Try with boeffla or reflashing stock kernel...you can download both from this page: http://www.boeffla-kernel.de/index.php/2012-10-31-06-13-16

ok i am gonna try and report back
no brother is nots working ...its strange that the camera works fine on PA CM11 and all other custom rom but not work on the stock roms please help me
Have you ever done a deep clean before flashing stock or based on stock roms? It's very strange that camera works only AOSP rom.
Do a full wipe and format system and preload partitions before flashing ROM.
i have done deep clean brother many times i havce change the recovery many times but problem still there and now issue solved i have flashed the stock 4.3 firmware via odin and camera work now ..and now i will flash the archi port 4.4.2 beta1 rom and check that camera is work or not on that rom by the way thanks dear
And problem appear again when I flash archi port beta I thin the issue caused by archi port rom

I've never flashed Archiport so i dont't know how you can change kernel during flash.
Try NeatRom based on 4.3 or Imperium KK: you can install rom without kernel from aroma and flashing it after installation.
Other solution is:
1) wipe cache and dalvik
2) flash kernel
3) reboot and hope it works
its make me mad i have try every solution but not works and except you no one listen to me i have post on the archi port rom thread but i have got nothing form that thread the problem is in the rom i am sure i have replace the kernel form that rom and past the other kernel and flash but the problem still there
