Hi good morning, so the question is, will install a new rom to my galaxy player 5.0 and reboot I only samsung logo appeared but after I did so many movements remained bricked then when desbrickearlo with odin gave in the re-partition box there after you turn off and never has rekindled is not even recognized by the computer, but if you load it when connecting to the stream is heated then I think he could have burned EFTPS or any component same processor or motherboard. Has any recommendation to my problem.
sorry but I'm Mexican and I had to use the google translator.
If the component physically burned you will probably have to replace it.

Hey,
I've recently bought Galaxy S2.
It had problems with Android 2.3.3 and batter drain so I decided to upgrade to 2.3.4. I followed the instructions and I had to re-partition. Rebooted my phone into download mode, set re-partition option, PDA and clicked start (as said in the guide). It started doing stuff but after ~40-50 minutes there was no progress - it was stuck at "SET PARTITION". After an hour and 20 minutes still nothing and the phone started heating. So I unplugged the USB and removed the battery. Left it to heat down and tried to start recovery/download mode. It couldn't even start. As if it's really dead
How could you know for sure if a phone is bricked? What should I do know?
Is there anything I can try to see if I can bring it back to life or I should go to my provider and ask him to fix it?
I would be really grateful for any suggestions
Thanks in advance,
tftd
You have a bricked phone, you will need to buy another one.
I don't know which instructions you have been following, but it is not the ones here.
Over here, we tell people not to click 2 things. CLEAR EFS, and REPARTITION.
Clear EFS, kills the IMEI, and REPARTITION kills the phone.
Since the bootloader sits in the partition, you don't have bootloader, so no download mode either.
Yup, as the poster before me mentioned; your phone is totally hardbricked. Only way to fix it is through a jtag (requires some advanced hardware) or to send it to samsung on warrantee. Thats why they say not to play with pit files/partitions in the guides.
There is someone on youtube that can fix your device since he has the necessary tools, go to youtube and search for sgs2 jtag, you should find his video where he demonstrates the process, or you can do what the other posters said.
I'm on my phone using the xda application so I can't post the link for you.

Now that's something I shall remember for the rest of my Android Phone life.
I sent my phone to customer service and hope they can fix it.
@achillies400 that dude is trained in small electronics (youtube/com /watch?v=zN7le4GmxZs) I saw what he does but I'm from Bulgaria and I'm not quite sure if the phone would get to USA and back to Bulgaria in one piece ...
For all the people coming after me:
DUDES! DON'T EVER RE-PARTITION! NEVER EVER!!!!!!
Thank you all for giving suggestions and helping me! Pretty much appreciated!

MobileTechVideos have a jtag maybe they can repair.
Otherwise sent your device to an Samsung ServiceCenter!
looks like your simplest solution is the Jtag.
Is the samsung service centre offering a free repair? or are there any costs involved?

Weelll... I hope it's free... though I'm prepared for a bill..
I didn't tell them I was flashing the rom... I told them it was heating up and suddenly it stopped working. Hope that's convenient enough
Check this link out.Its a list of places where you can get your phone jtaged incase it happens again.Near the bottom there is a contact for your country.

okay, I hope it all works out
my phone has a busted up screen guys, claiming on house insurance, if i was to Clear EFS, kills the IMEI, and REPARTITION kills the phone. that would make it unbootable right??
I wouldnt give up jet
I ended up in quite a simular situation, i failed during flashing another pir, witch resulted in a non bootable phone with none ability to charge the battery. I tried to charge the battery elsewhere and was actually able to detect the phone in odin(none visual respons on the phone but stil). there should be a hope of reflashing it from here. could anyone explain why the screen goes blank even if its in downloadmode? is it related to imei/rom?
I would try this before sending in the phone. I talked to some guys in a norwegian servicecetre. If they are not able to connect it via usb to a pc and flash it they probably just change the motherboard!(EXPENCIVE) JTAG didnt seem to be the sollution of choice. changing the motherboard was rarely the sollution, but apperantly one customrom ****ed up both bootloaders(rom and imei) witch made them helpless reflashing it.
I bricked my phone because repartition was checked
I bricked my phone because I checked repartition. DO NOT CHECK BOX NEVER EVER EVER.
I sent back to t mobile and just said it would not turn on or charge and they repaired it free.
Since I have had my phone repaired I have flashed lots of custom roms with no major problems. Difference I have never once since clicked repartition and I made a backup of my EFS folder using Galaxy s unlock from android market also unlocked my s2 no probs
If you can detect it in Odin. Usually it is always able to be fixed.
But you may have to use someone else's full backup dump. But they may not want to give you their efs information of their phone.
Look online for galaxy s3 boot-loader etc.
This is for future people that need help
Hi everyone. I have made my biggest mistake in this life. I have fully bricked my S2 with odin while trying to flash it with DarkyROM. Ok, I am not newbie I know how to make things done. However, I followed tutorial which said that re-partition must be ticked and pit file included. I knew that re-partition is Number 1 to avoid. Let's say it was the time of me being unaware. So, I pressed start button. There was no progress for two hours. S2 started to heat badly. I needed to unplug it. So i did it. Know it is dead, 3 buttons combo isn't working as expected. I need to JTAG my phone, because USB JIG isn't working as expected. Can anybody suggest me anything? Any help would be appreciated.
Just go to service center and tell them kies broke your phone after a unsucessful update.. I saw somewhere in this forum a valid excuse where he said something about his pc being win7 with 64bit something w/c is not compatible with kies thus leading to hard brick.. Just make up stories and never mention odin blah blah..

Thank you very much for suggestion. I think it would work for me.
Is there an update to how this worked out? Did ATT do anything about the phone?
Not sure if you still have this problem but same thing happened to me
First the Answer if you dont' want to here my sob story:
Go to mobile tech videos (i can't post the link)
mobiletechvideos.mybigcommerce.com/samsung-galaxy-s-ii-jtag-brick-repair/
My Sob story:
I bricked my phone after trying to flash a rom with Chinese language support. The download screen hung for about 30 minutes so I ended up disconnecting my phone and removing the battery. After this the phone would not even power on, in fact the only sign of life was warmth comming from the back
I used the link above it took 13 days (it took him 1 day though) when sent from New Zealand and cost $50. I guess the Samsung service center option is the cheapest option (but this guy is fast)
Cheers
Hello,
Last week my Galaxy SIII accidentally fell in the toilet
Since then he recovers pretty much all of his fonctions, the only problem I have is when it comes to recharge it.
When I plug the charger in when the cellphone is turn on, nothing happen. The cellphone doesn't seems to recognize that the charger is plug in. Then if I restart it and let the charger plug in at the same time, when it restarted the charger seems to be recognize and I'm able to recharge it.
Do you think I need to change the usb port?or maybe it's just a matter of software?
Do you think that a factory reset will do the trick?
I'm open to any suggestion, I only have this cellphone for a month and a half and can not afford another one right now, especially if I have to pay full price.
Thanks in advance for your help.
First factory reset second flash a stock rom third its hardware .
jje
Unless your device somehow hit thw toilet bowel a dew hundred times+ it's hardware related especially seeing as it feel in water & water is conductive
If you're really up for a gruesome challenge then you can order a new part and FIX IT YOURSELF: http://rounded.com/samsung-i9300-ga...tor-charging-connector-spare-part-microc.html
I RECOMMEND getting it replaced somehow though

Thank you for your answers.
I will probably give a shot to the factory reset, but I'm just concerned of what it's going to do to my phone?does it erase everything?I will have to reinstalle all the apps?reenter my contacts?
After watching the video about reparing the cellphone by yourself, I think I'm going to let that to someone who know what he is doing because it seems very tricky.
It erases EVERYTHING however if you sync your samsung & google account it should restore all your apps but not your pictures etc, I advise just making a backup with Samsung Kies (don't backup misc. If you were rooted but I wouldn't anyway)

Thanks, I will do that
I want to start by saying I'm no noob, I've been rooting/flashing/moding phones for years now. But im stuck.
My phone randomly rebooted a few days ago and would not boot back up. It would show the intitial Samsung 9300 boot screen and sit there.
I pulled the battery and tried to boot to recovery, but it would just stay at the Samsung boot screen. I am able to get to download mode, but computer will not connect. I've tried windows and ubuntu. Fresh installs and previously tried and succeded setups. All saw and communicated with my co-workers s3, not mine.
The most frustrating part is that Odin will recognize it but not flash. Errors with "no valid pit file" if I use the .pit file and repartion, it will hang at setup connection and eventually say cannot communicate. Similar experience with kies, sees it but can't communicate. (Kies was not installed with Odin)
Am I hard bricked here? Is there any way to fix(billable repair from Samsung even?)
I know there was an un-brickable mod for the galaxy s1. Anyone know who I could contact to send my phone to them to try to work out and un-brickable mod for this if I can't repair?
Thanks in advance, my head is starting to hurt at this point

Hello All!
Let me start off by saying that this is by far the most frustrating situation that I have ever experienced as I am in the IT field. Lets be honest, reboot usually fixes everything, EXCEPT for this problem.
About 3 or 4 weeks ago, my daughter was watching a YouTube video on her player. She fell asleep and the player ran out of juice and died that wonderful death that all electronic devices do when their life support is terminated. The next morning, my daughter tries to turn it on and naturally it won't power up as it needs to be charged.
She charges the player and attempts to turn it on and its getting the whole 'We're going to pretend to boot up, but we're going to give false hope, get to the Samsung screen, show her who's boss and shut down again. Then! - to really get under her skin, we're going to do it from now until eternity ends'.
Therefore, being the good little troubleshooter that I am, I opened it up, took out the battery, removed the SD chip, waited a little while, put the battery back in and pressed power with my fingers crossed.
Nothing. Same eternal reboot.
So, I start trolling Google... cuz we all know that if you can't find it on Google, it be broke beyond repair.
I go all over the net, to places I never even knew existed :silly:, to dark, deep, scary places of tech expertise I never knew existed. However, despite all of that, I have not located an answer that fixes my problem.
She got this player refurbished and there is no real warranty. So...this is something that I'm going to have to fix for her. If it were a MS server, I'd have this solve, wiped my hands of it and on about my way. Why is it that the smarter the electronics get, the dumber I feel?
At any rate, does anyone have an ideas for this issue and if they do, is there a step-by-step instruction I can find? Active Directory this is NOT! LOL
Turn off and charge for a few hrs. Then try again.
Also try holding power and volume up to boot into recovery and do a wipe data and cache.

I tried that, both. I only got some sort of somewhere when I decided to see if maybe using the DOWN volume button got me anywhere. Now it's just sitting on an android screen saying 'Odin Mode' and that it's downloading, do not turn off.
Um... how long is it supposed to be on this screen? (0.o) I've never seen anything sit on a screen like this for more than a few minutes...?
Hello, I am a noob here. I also have the same boot loop problem described. I took it back to the big box store purchased at to no avail I will be scouring any way to recover this device! I appreciate any advice. I have a Samsung player 3.6 with no micro sd installed. I get to the Samsung page and it turns off and restarts the Samsung page. I have not flashed anything before but am willing and eager to learn and can be fairly handy. I appreciate any help.
I was able to repair my daughter's galaxy player 3.6 tonight by flashing the original rom back onto it!! Thanks so much to all the people on here I was able to learn so much in one place!!! Musesinspire I will attempt to post a link to where I was able to get the appropriate rom I hope this helps!!!

Any more news on a fix for this issue? My daughter's SGP 3.6 just did the same thing. It's running factory ROM. I have no idea where to go from here. It's now a paperweight.
