hi everyone
i'm having this "strange" problem these days
first, the phone used to turn of without a reason and i had to re-flash the rom(jelly bean ls8, i didn't have this problem on previous roms)
that happened three times
and now,my phone reboots without a reason, and it reboots very, very faster than usual(faster that when you manually reboot)
so, i was thinking about flashing the brand-new lsd jelly bean rom , but first , i wanted to see where's the problem's source?
can i fix it on this rom?

i now have a custom rom which is android revolution HD 15.1 android version 4.1.1 kernel 3.0.31-411425
Any advice?
Thanks
Same here.. Don't get why..
very strange because it was fine before i updated to jelly bean and after that thats when it started lagging and i have the same apps on as i had before
Ditto.. In fact I deleted some!
Yup same here. It's just Jelly Bean mate. In my opinion ICS was much faster and more responsive.

Have you tried changing the kernel? Maybe try the Perseus Kernel? Lagging might be kernel related.. Or can try to superwipe everything, then flash the ROM again..
I have used ARHD 15 and now on ARHD 16, everything fine & smooth.. of course I did superwipe if changing to new base.
Hope this help..

It's nothing to do with kernel. It's because the messages application is getting unloaded and loading it up takes more time in JB. I think there are mods that will make it so messages application will persist in memory, so it will be opened like instantly. Have to search forums here in XDA to find it... Same for contacts and phone apps.
same
Same here. I think the problem is the Jelly Bean version made by Samsung. With 4.1.2 is the same. Dialer, contacts and messages take 2-3 seconds to load
The same thing on my dialer and messages..slower compared to ICS

wipe before install and wipe a few times after install..still the same..
Didn't try any other JB releases, just the latest leak (ELK4 i think). Did an upgrade without even wiping directly from ICS. My phone is BY FAR more responsive and faster. Wasn't expecting it either, specially without wiping. But it did. So, not sure what you're using for a rom, but if you haven't give this one a try. Haven't done any further modding, it's all "stock", including kernel. Am using exDial though - all the stock's funcions, double the speed.
The only thing that lags is swype but only when i change languages. But since this is a leak test version running swype which is, in itself, a beta app, i'm not complaining. Everything else is just awesome, even in multiwindow.
Your solution buddy

try reseting your settings and if you can factory reset that would be even better but reseting your setting won't damage your data but your wifi profiles will be wiped so as your Bluetooth paired devices...lets say you just have to reconfigure you're device's settings. click thanks if I helped

Update: after installing the ROM, phone told me my sim card couldn't be found.. Same problem which made me root the phone in the first place. I mean the stock ROM had very same issue on my phone. I tried few different modems, no luck. On top of that I got extended battery kit and the new ROM ate battery from 100% to 0% in one night in idle mode. Went back to cm10.1, now all working again

Hi everyone,
I bought my international version last year June , and everything went well as soon as I upgrade to 4.1.2. My csc is TPA I guess is from Panama. Anyway, I felt a little laggy and then I flashed custom rom ( always stock rom before). I flashed omega, wanalite, aokp, liquidsoomth and so on. At first I suffered from sudden death or frozen (I have to press power button until it reboot), I thought it might because custome rom is not stable as stock, but so many roms that I've tried all have the same problems. Then I knew there is Sds problem, but even I flash those custom kernel to fixed it, some times still sudden death or frozen. Can anyone give some ideas to fix this? And I found that google apps cause death and frozen as well.
Thank you guys, I need this help.
Sudden death does not equal freeze afaik. It means your phone dying completely. As for freezing, if you didn't get any freezes from stock, I suggest you leave it on stock.

I get freezes from stock rom as well , not rooted
Then I'd suggest you go visit a service centre.

Hey there
I installed a leaked 4.2.1 firmware but it turned out to be too buggy so I removed it and installed the stock 4.1.2 firmware which is I9300XXEMB5_I9300OXAEMB5_BTU however I get stuck in a bootloop after that. What do you think is causing the problem? I used to flash it using ODIN just fine but for some reason now I am in a bootloop. I was able to flash CWM and install Android Revolution HD and it's working but I'd like to go back to stock ROM without root or anything since a couple of friends of mine ended up with broken motherboards after being rooted for a while.
Would flashing this bootloader "bootLoader_XXEMB5.tar.md5" and then the stock ROM work? The 4.2.1 leaked ROM may have updated my bootloader or something.
Thanks!
You have to boot in recovery and wipe

Oh wow how could I miss that. Thank you so much. I just realized that I have a problem with the Messages application occuring on any ROM I install, so it's not a problem with the leaked 4.2.1 firmware but with my device. I am going to wipe the device and cache and reinstall 4.2.1 and see how that works out! Thanks again.

Hi,
NOTE: This is not a question. I just wanted to post this to help anyone in the same position and may reach this page after searching on google.
My phone cannot connect to my WiFi network. For a few days I have been tirelessly searching for a solution to my problem.
I tried factory reset, wiping cache/dalvik, flash stock rom .etc -- nothing worked!
I was flashing the latest roms for my device 4.2 and 4.1 which is jelly bean OS. It still did not work.
But then I tried flashing the previous generation operating system. I flashed 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, and it worked. I can use wifi again!
So, I hope this helps someone out there
Give it a try
You went back to jellybean afterwards though? We dont want people going back to ics when they're not protected from sds

Yes I just flashed a jellybean rom afterwards.
In the end it turned out that the issue was with foxhound rom, so I just use cyanogenmod instead now
Cool thanks for clarifying.
