Problem was solved by freeing more space and installing Philz kernel
I have neatrom 4.0. Flashed 4.1 and now i don´t have multiwindow, the top bar has dissapear and i can´t change the wallpaper.
Have tried with and without wipe.
Any ideas?

what rom are you coming from ?
what kind of wipe did you do ?
I tried full wipe (data and cache).
Coming from neatrom 4.0.

Update: after installing the ROM, phone told me my sim card couldn't be found.. Same problem which made me root the phone in the first place. I mean the stock ROM had very same issue on my phone. I tried few different modems, no luck. On top of that I got extended battery kit and the new ROM ate battery from 100% to 0% in one night in idle mode. Went back to cm10.1, now all working again

Hi everyone,
I have VK rom v5.1 installed running Siyah kernel 3.3.1 with some tweaks (I mean using extweaks app) and I've tried to install a new kernel, just to see which one is better batterywise and there's no way, just no way. After wiping cache, dalvik and also clearing init.c folder (which is usually done by defect when installing a new kernel, well, moved), I have tried with NEAK 2.0.5x and 2.0.6x and nothing. I've also tried with speedmod k3-20 and nothing either, it wont boot past the first Samsung logo!!! What can I do??? Any ideas?
I've also done factory reset and reset the extweaks profiles that I've changed, but still nothing, It won't pass the Samsung logo.
(Just another thing. I did change the dpi from 240 to 210 on the build.prop which was worked like a charm and updated from Siyah 3.2.8 to 3.3.1. Thinking that it could be a problem of any kind and desperate as I was I tried as well changing it with no improvement at all).

Yep, I was with that one already. Nah, it's not working. It flashes and everything, but when I flash the new kernel it gets stuck on the samsung logo again. I'm starting to think that the kernels are corrupted or sth, but I've tried 3 already and all of them with the same problem. Is it possible I am using the wrong kernels? I mean, the rom is ICS standtard, custom samsung rom, is it not?

Yea i believe so. Have you tried flashing a completely new rom altogether? With a full wipe.
You can also try to fix permissions in cwm

Hey Mates,
Facing a strange issue with my SGS2
i didn't know what happen to it but i am on siyah kernel and tried to install few roms but any custom rom ICS 4.0.3 or 4.0.4 when i install them and on 1st boot it only show's me a blank black screen with task bar available... and by holding the toggle button on task bar i am able to open that perticular option, rest it is showing me nothing, not even the lock screen,
i had tried around 7-8different types or rom but they are not working properly even tried stock rom also showing me same issue, only when i install REVOLT JB rom or PFittech JB rom 1.1.3 it works fine, but iwant to install and try other roms also .. tell me how can i fix it up ?
no ics any custom or stock rom is working on it, only JB roms are working on it .. tried 2 JB roms and rest all ICS roms mention bellow are not working showing same issue ...

i think after you install news rom you press home+volume down+ power > restart you's phone> choice wipe data/factory reset & wipe cache partition and resboot

i always do this whenever i install the rom.
and face same issue...
i think it is something else ...

Try flashing a stock firmware. Go to sammobile.com, make an account and download the file there.. flash via odin

Same Case with me as well. I have a lenovo tab which has the same thing. No Launcher and it has a blank screen and that's it.
Just an idea but you could try to create a zip file of a custom launcher like nova trough titanium backup.
Flash it in recovery and see what happens when booting.

i'm having this "strange" problem these days
first,the phone used to turn of without a reason and i had to re-flash the rom(jelly bean ls8, i didn't have this problem on previous roms)
that happened three times
and now,my phone reboots without a reason,and it reboots very,very faster than usual(faster that when you manually reboot)
so, i was thinking about flashing the brand-new lsd jelly bean rom , but first , i wanted to see where's the problem's source?
can i fix it on this rom?

I managed to install CM9 on it but it says gapps crashed every time and it restart itself and repeats
Make sure you are getting a clean flash... wipe data, cache, dalvik cache.. and then go to mounts( in cwm ) or advanced( TWRP ) and wipe system ( format it in cwm )
Also make sure you have a good download.. that can cause many different issues... from boot loops to force closes.

Do you have a good download or a better rom or even a good md5 to flash to go back to stock?
I am having a lot of problems with this tablet, sometimes it crashes, it bootloops, sometimes it just freezes and sometimes I need to force restart it so much times till it boots properly because it freezes while booting a lot.
also whenever I connect it to the PC it seems to have problems.
It used to be my sister's so I fear she broke it

You can find the stock rom at sammobile.com
Also.. make sure you have an ICS bootloader... almost all the custom roms require that bootloader. You can find it at pershoot's site and flash it with Odin.
As far as good download's with md5's go.. this forum doesn't seem to use them as much as most forum's. So what I do is download a rom twice and check the md5's against each other.. that's not the best way, as you could have 2 bad download's, but it's something.. lol
If you can't find the stock 4.0.4 ICS rom at sammobile... I think I have it.. somewhere I also have the ICS bootloader..
But if you're new to flashing and Odin... I highly recommend doing some reading and watch QBKings' video's..
I would also recommend(once you know that you have the ICS bootloader)that you use the infamous TWRP recovery.. it is the best recovery for this device ( I believe )..

Yeah mine is the Wifi and I need a 3.2 version because I'm going to return it to samsung see if they can fix it, we actually got it broken from them
There is stock 4.0.4 so why not say you updated it via kies, its stock so it should be fine. been looking for a 3.2 andi can't just find a stock image just yet

Right i have a s3 rooted anyway i used to have resurrection remix rom loved it but wanted a change as someone told me s5 sensation was out so i wanted to see what the rom was like and what difference it was having s5 software on a s3 and it started out ok but i have noticed every now and again if your playing a games the phone will go to the main screen with no notice you could be texting someone and it goes back to the main screen. Normally to stop this i turn it off and back on again and it works ok but then 2hrs later it starts again.
My problem is i have tried installing Resurrection remix rom again as they have a new one and it keeps saying there's no data if i try to flash any s3 rom again no data how do i fix this?? I tried re-rooting it with odin and came back same result so then i have to go back to the s5 sensation so i have a working phone im stuck i dont know what to do..
i install a rom like this i wipe data/factory reset then wipe cache partition then wipe dalvik cache then install.
All advice help is welcome and appreciated
If i try and install other roms i either get status 7 or no context so had to go back to S5 sensation 7 just so i could use my phone... urgh

For the status 7 error flash the latest TWRP recovery or Philz.
For this download Rashr from the PS and flash the latest recovery (For TWRP→2.8.4.0 and for Philz→ 6.48.4)

Yeah did that and working fine now well it lets me install other roms woop so gone for s3 neat rom abit impressed but sure theres better out there cheers
