For some reason the padlock isn't showing on the boot screen when I boot now. It appeared before, but after I restored a nandroid backup, it's not there noe. Anyone else getting this problem?

What "problem"? It comes and goes at random and has been discussed in tons of threads already.
Mines stuck on it now. Shows up on each boot or reboot for some reason when it never did before.

Same here. Tried three times now, including one reboot. All stock - no root.
Any ideas?

Same problem with mine. I unrooted prior to this update. Tried 3 times on 4g, 3g and Wi-Fi. Any thoughts on this?

Intrepid, in your case, have you disabled any system apps? Re-enable them and try again.
Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
No apps have been disabled. Its pretty much stock.

Try a factory reset first....That will make sure you're bone stock.
Thanks. Ill give that a shot in a few minutes.

Accepted the update this morning... went smoothly. Took forever to download though, think the servers were slammed with everybody doing the same thing. I am bone stock, for now.

Having same issue. Stock nothing removed or froze. Was rooted with voodoo. Temp unroot didnt work. uninstalled all root apps unrooted with voodoo. Did factory reset downloaded again . Gets about half way through install.....Triangle and android on screen. Then it reboots and says update failed. Any ideas how to fix this?

same issue here, trying hard reboot!
will keep you posted
Just curious. If you are having this problem, did you perform your download over 4G or WiFi? I have no clue about what is causing this problem, but if you were on 4G perhaps you can try downloading again using WiFi (or visa-versa)? Yes, I know this shouldn't matter. But it is something to try.
I was downloading through wifi.

I just did a factory reset including internal media and the SD card, downloaded the update and tried to install but got the triangle and android on the screen about halfway through. Any thoughts?
Did a hard reset, wiped user data and that seemed to do it
If you are rooted, uninstall bootstrap or safestrap if you have those. For me safestrap was breaking the update. Thxkbai!
Just did another hard reset with no luck getting through the update. Willing to entertain any suggestions...
How far do you get?

This may seem like an odd suggestion, but if you keep failing to install the OTA pushed to your phone, try flashing the file from the root of your SD card.
About a quarter of the way through. It showed a triangle with the android on the screen when it stopped.
Hey everyone,
So my girlfriend just got the LTE about 2 weeks ago, and now there is a real problem. I rooted it for her with s-off and flashed the stock/liquidsmooth rom. Everything has been running extremely smooth and great until today. The phone was in her pocket while we were out and when she pulled it out of her pocket and tried to unlock it, the phone was lagging really bad like a 15 second lag delay on everything and kept freezing. I tried wiping everything and reflashing the rom 2 or 3 times and its still doing the same thing. I'm very "flash savvy" and have quite a bit of android experience. When I push the power button to unlock the phone, the 3 bottom lights will just light up with the screen still black for about 2 minutes until it will light up and work semi smoothly.
Nothing was working so I try flashing another rom from the dev section and the same thing is still happening. I dont want to have to unroot it and take it into Sprint, so any help is greatly appreciated.
Anyone?

No need to unroot - Sprint treats rooted phones the same as non-rooted phones now. There's clearly something severely wrong with the phone if you've wiped and flashed multiple times. Maybe run the RUU? If not, go to Sprint.

The bootloader is unlocked, and I can't for the life of me get it to relock. EVERY method I've tried doesn't work for me. Will they take it even with the unlocked/tampered bootloader?
Well I've got the phone to work a little better...But everytime I lock the phone and try to unlock it, it won't respond for about 2 minutes. And it keeps saying "process system is not responding" or sometimes "process com.android.phone is not responding". I've tried fixing permissions and partition SD card. Guess I'm taking it to sprint.
I am pretty sure you can get it repaired or replaced regardless of the bootloader status. Search the General section or the Q&A section. I guarantee it has been discussed, I just don't remember the answer.

What is your wiping process? You said everything but can you be specific? What rom did you flash? Is your recovery updated? Did you check md5 of the rom?

Correct, as long as one has total equipment protection
If a store gives issues on it just ask them to look it up in policy.
OP
You tried re flashing that Rom and wipes but have you tried a different Rom?

I wiped cache, dalvik, system, factory data. The usual. And tried flashing 5 roms - stock with goodies(the latest one and an older one), miklatte, meanrom, and a stock rooted rom. Tried fixing permissions on all of them too. I tried 2 different kernels and reflashed the radio aswell but no luck.
I took it into sprint today and they wanted to keep it overnight lol, so I will findout in the morning.
Still blows my mind how the phone went from working so great and then 5 minutes later it was completely unresponsive.

Yupp.
I randomly received and update on my phone. Didn't manually try to update. It just randomly did it, and it changed to the following.
Anyone else get anything similar?

Man, I hope you weren't unlocked before...
That's the weird part. I'm unlocked, just running stock.
Didn't lose my root or anything.

curious but how do you know you're still unlocked?
I didn't figure it out until I went to backup and restore, and the bootloader told me to bugger off.

You mean you' have stock 4.5.1A-1_SUN-254_13 but the bootloader is still unlocked. You may want to have a factory reset default backup files store somewhere from CWM. Lot of people will want those file include me. I have a unlocked bootloader and want stock 4.5.1A-1_SUN-254_13, but that will permanently lock my bootloader.
Albert.
Ok so i recently just purchased the HTC One and i rooted it yesterday.I have boot loader unlocked so i no this is not the problem. The problem im having is so i was a watching a video and all of sudden it turns off and doesn't turn back on I've tried charging it several times and also tried holding both power and volume buttons down at the same time and also tried taking the sim card out?? Can somebody tell me what's wrong because i'm really confused.
What else have you done other than rooting and unlocking?

Today when my friend tried to turn on his galaxy SII, it stuck at at&t boot animation. He bought it few days ago on ebay. But it is unlocked. So what I have to do?
Hope I can get a answer soon.
Thanks in advance.

Try getting it into recovery and do a factory data reset.

And to get in recovery hold both volume buttons and power until a big menu shows up. Make sure it's not plugged in.

I think it has to be the i777 or the i727 because the ATT boot screen
I already fixed it. Just read some thread find out how to get in to recovery. I think other SII have to press home+Vol+ to get in to recovery but ATT version do not have home button So thats where I got confusion.
Great... Make sure next time you are on the correct thread or web page for a device. read read read then read some more. Always check the model number on the device usually under battery. Have a good day!
