I have a Sprint Samsung Galaxy s3 and a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1. The Play Store stopped working on both devices 2 days ago at the same time. Play Store from the both devices shows I have no apps installed. When I go to the ALL tab I get the following message "Error retrieving information from server. [RPC:S-5:AEC-0]". I get this on both devices. If I look at an app that I already purchased it shows that I have not purchased it. If I try to purchase it I get this message "Error retrieving information from server. [BM-PPH-01]". I cant install them to my devices from the play store via my pc either. I have tried clearing cache and data, deleting my google account from phone and tablet then setting them up again. Date is correct on both devices. Any help sure would be great.
Thanks,
Mike
You are probably screwed.
I was on the phone with tech support.

So...
I am now unable to transfer my paid apps across devices, and certain paid apps now refuse to run with license checks denying me access.
They have severely screwed up with a 2012 issue.
You can see that the problem is on their end as https://play.google.com/apps will show an error.
Try with another google account installed on your phone and you will see that it works.
I have lost access to hundreds of apps.
This is disappointing.
Same here. I have a lot of paid apps. This really pisses me off.

Well you guys want to know the secret? Download and install the modded play store. You need root access but it'll fix your problem with licence verification.

I've got the same message on a brand new HTC One, coming from a Galaxy Nexus. Same provider and telephone number, just a different SIM card. Hope Google fixes this one.

Mine is working too. Thank god

The "upgrade" of Market to Play Store was not smooth on my two Sony devices:
Tablet S and Xperia phones.
The connection was lost occasionally in the beginning dates, and finally, it was restored on my Xperia phones.
However, connection to "Market/Play Store" server went dead on my Tablet S totally since yesterday. So I
(i) uninstalled updates of "Market/Play Store" to return it to "Market" -> no use; then
(ii) suspecting something wrong with my machine, so I decided to perform a "Factory Reset". (That took me the whole afternoon to restore apps from backup... panic...). Yet, it is still dead, only leaving the message "Server error, Retry" at the centre.
(iii) I even install Play Store 3.4.7 and 3.5.15 app downloaded here somewhere to see if that makes any difference. The answer is still a big NO.
Any suggestion? Wifi connection to all other websites are fine without problem. All other app accounts are now reconnected. This "factory reset" gives me another problem that some of my purchased apps are now denying me from use, as my "Market/Play Store" account is not activated on this Tablet S.
Is this a general Tablet S issue or I need to find Sony to fix the hardware? Please kindly advise. Many thanks!
I don't have such problem, suggest to send it back to Sony to check and fix.

Thanks but not work. Log in to talk ok.
I can't believe that the problem cased regarding a hardware problem.
I guess it could be a problem with your Google account.
You could double check it with a other or new Google account.
(ask a friend or create a new one)
If it works well with a new/other account, I would contact the Google support to check and/or repair your main account.

I agree with you that I don't think this could be a HW problem. That's why I posted my question here to see if this is a common issue. I contacted Sony Support Live Chat and apparently this is not a common case, at least in US. My Tablet S was purchased in HK, so the chat could not end up with any solution, but suggesting me to seek for an upper level of support in HK. In fact, I am about to take it to the Sony Service this morning.
The good news is after three days of struggling and Factory Data Resetting (a total of three times! very painful to restore things each time...), strange thing happened just now that the "Market" connection returned, for no reason. After downloaded/installed a couple of app updates, "Market" then was upgraded to "Play Store". Things seems working fine now... Hope the regional Google finally have this resolved...
Many thanks again for your patience and suggestion!
Android Central had a post that stated Google issued a fix for the Google Play Movie app.
It doesn't mention any specific issues, but if one app was having issues, at least they caught it and fixed it quickly. Probably had something to do with the quick fix of the overall Market (fine Play store).

Yes, that might be a related issue. The curious thing, however, is it seems I am the only one to experience this... very interesting...
BTW, I need to further that I still have problem in buying apps using my Tablet S (Hong Kong version). I would receive this message most of the time:
"The item that you were attempting to purchase could not be found." Don't know if anyone here had similar experience?
And the nasty thing is I need to "factory data reset" to clear that. The more annoying thing is this message will return again soon for no apparent reason... Possibly, from your reference, be a problem between Sony and Google...
Why dont you send it back to Sony HK to have a complete check? they are conveniently located in HK and Kowloon side.

I am thankful to your suggestion. I went to Google support and confirmed that this is a general issue, not something peculiar to me alone. I need to travel in Greater China (i.e., Hong Kong, Macau, China and Taiwan) a lot because of my job nature. Among the areas only Play Store access from Hong Kong allows in-tablet Play Store purchase. I was in Macau this week, and it seems quite a few people in China and Macau have had the same issue of not connecting to Play Store.
I raised a question there concerning in-tablet Play Store purchase, and hope someone will write me an answer soon.
We HK users shouldn't complain anymore with regard to the availability of Playstation here since we are the lucky bunch who don't have the Play Store and wifi issues.
I guess now we are 2
I guess you are not alone any more, i got mine like 10 days ago, worked fine right out of the box, couple of upgrades, format...you know
then all of a sudden it diced not to connect any more, done most of what you guys done so fare none is working

Don't worry. I think Google is already aware of the issue and will, hopefully, have this fixed in your region, like mine, soon. However, there is still an issue left open to fix: purchase app through the in-tablet Play Store for people who need to carry the machine and access Play Store of different regions.
Taking back for service usually won't do much help, however, unless the service guys are smart enough to find out what is really the issue. My experience was that they were usually unhelpful. Within guarantee period, they would replace either the PCB or replace with a refurbished machine but will still leave the problem for you to hunt for an answer.
In our case, I think, it is not a hardware problem, but the stability of Android as a whole.
i can't agree more
there is few BB referring to flushing the registered Gmail account from the device witch according to the expert it never get off by just a factory reset.
it dose make seance, taken into consideration that factory reset is not firmware instillation or ROM for the device.
didn't got the micro cable yet other wise i'm welling even to go that far, interesting note, though i can pin point one or two website that i'm facing trouble browsing from my normal PC and i'm not 100% sure if these things related in some point from ISP part, you know some port been blocked or some crazy firewall policy, the issue for me that i really can't tested as such as i don't have enough knowledge about how this google play works.
hope things will get a bit better at least from your side

OK, for some unknown reason it worked, didn't do much and to make it worse my port blocking idea didn't work out either, still can't access those website yet the market worked out.
i really hope that things will not be this way again, and all the best for you guys

Yesterday I finally rooted, and maybe picked a bad time... I've done 2c, 3a, wifi wipe, nandroid backup and flashed modem to UCKK6. And now the Play Store wants me to re-buy apps.
Play store knows of a similar issue, but I haven't found anything like this in the i777 forum, and maybe I just screwed up when re-entering my Google account after wiping. I've done everything possible with my Google account, including resetting the password, so i know the account works, at least. Am I missing the easy fix that everybody knows about? Any advice?
So your issue is its not showing the apps? Or its telling u u haven't bought the app
Sent from my SGH-I777 using Tapatalk
They (only a few, but still...) show as available to buy. I guess another question would be (now that I've purchased TIBU Pro) how to avoid this when I flash to ics?
Try loging into your Play Store from the computer and see if it tells you differently.. My experience with it in the past, it will show what you have brought when you log into the Play Store. Then you can do the option to have it re-install from there.
This isn't I777-specific - Google Play has been having issues lately.
It hasn't even scrolled off of the first page of Engadget Mobile yet.

true i could never understand why they changed it to play store tho market seemed more stable
The worst part is that I'm not sure I have that known issue. I had the play store working properly (* at least it appeared to be working...) until root/wipe, which I did the day this issue appeared. **** luck or coincidence? Probably both...
Any other i777 users with this problem?

I had similar issues when I would use TiBu to restore, but instead of just doing apps, I did all apps and data - it would screw up the market links so it didn't know what I owned any more. Being careful to only restore missing apps + data has taken that problem away. And just rooting shouldn't have done it.
Unless you restored "wrong", I'd wait and see how well Google responds (they're not very good at it, sadly).

Thanks, but I didn't restore at all... I never bought TiBU before rooting (wouldn't have worked, right?) so that was the first thing I did after root. Then I noticed that my old apps had prices again. I thought I would be able to re-download them...

Good tip, found out that my whole Google account has a start date of March 29. Should be October 15th, or thereabouts. Of course, march 29th was root/wipe day, so maybe I failed reconnecting to Google? I've sent "feedback", but won't hold my breath...
Now that I see other i777 users are having issues like mine, I'm taking the jokes out of this thread title. Sassibob, Y U B USELESS?
PS. Help request form filled out, ticket # received. Still not holding my breath...
Patience. Sadly this is do to some issues with their account server. Submit your ticket and wait patently. Get a receipt from your email and attach it so they can find the old data and fix it.

I had this issue the other day, and the fact that I had the options to auto-restore app data from "the cloud" screwed with things badly. I turned that off, it warned me it was going to delete all device data from my dashboard. After that, it acted properly.

Patience is wearing thin... Greg from PlayStore support team has now referred me to this website. As far as I can tell, it's a closed loop, with NO help options if your issue isn't among the few they address. What next?

PS. All aspects of my google account have re-started on root/wipe day, including Gmail. No access to the email receipts or any other emails from before.
Sent Google Play support another message yesterday, saying I have receipts on my phone bills.
No reply.
Well, I finally got Google support (main, not play store) to look into this. I had created multiple Google accounts, and all is fixed. Except: they can't or won't link those accounts, so to get those apps back from scratch, I will always have to log in to both accounts.
So I've had my i9300 for about a month now. It seems like I have some problems due to being in the USA. The market works except I can't purchase any apps. I can download them if I purchase them on my tablet first.
Also some apps say they aren't available in my region even though I know they are. I've had this problem with Samsung video hub also. I've tried to clear user data for the market and Google account. I've tried factory resets and a couple of ROM's.
The other problem I have is NFC won't work. Google wallet says not available for my device or carrier.
I've searched the forums and internet, and called ATT and Samsung. Nothing has worked. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
Wow, no response at all on this? Anyone having similar problems? Everything working perfectly?

I recently tried to purchase an app on the Google Play website and it said my Google Wallet needs verification. I've never had this happen before. Maybe this is my problem. I had to submit my drivers license and a utility bill to Google to verify my ID. I'm not sure what the problem is but they are supposed to respond within 3 days.
I'll have to look into market enabler if verifying my ID doesn't work.

Really..? That's never happened to me all I had to do was throw a valid CC on Wallet and it worked. Call Google, that sounds fishy to me.
Just to update, Google emailed me a couple days later and the problem is resolved. I checked the address, etc before sending them that info. I was able to pull a PDF phone bill and take a photo of my drivers license. Market works fine now.
Hi Guys
This issue has been going on for 4 months now, i can rarely download or update an app on the play store because it gives me error 927. Only the odd update or install will work and this happens over both Wifi and Celluar
I have several android devices, 2013 Nexus 7, SGS4, Optimus G Pro, Xperia Z Tablet, Note 1 and the same happens on every single device. If i use a different account after resetting the phone i dont have the issue but the problem is i have purchased £100's of applications on my normal account so i cant afford to use another one.
I have tried wiping caches, factory resets and nothing seems to work. I contacted google and they dont have any idea either!!
I was hoping someone here had a similar issue?
Thanks
I've had a similar error occur for me. Whenever I install/update an app where on WiFi or Mobile Network it would send off and error.
It was a constant annoyance for me.
It stopped when I did this, I headed into Manage Apps>All Apps, and opened Google Play Store, cleared data and cache. And did the same to Google Play Services, I proceeded by rebooting the device next thing I know, my phone starts updating apps .
I hope this'll work for you.

Hello!
Contact Google, it is their right to investigate this problem, if you've payed that much money for apps, one certainly wouldn't move to another account, tell them about this problem.

Yeah they suggested I use another account or wipe the cache. I've tried contacting on 3 different occasions. Each one has been a waste of time

Just so people are aware, this is still happening, I'm writing this today because things were going ok for a while, but, the play store got updated again, to 4.6.17. It happens on my Nexus 5, HTC Evo 4 G, & galaxy tab 8.9, it happens on different versions of play store. If I create new account, play store works great. I contacted Google as well, basically got pissed cause they were completely useless. Right from beginning I was honest, & told them I was rooted. They basically blamed it on that. Anyways, Google play suck$

Hello everybody. I have been having problems with downloading items from the Play store on my Android phone. After spending hours trying to solve the issue by myself and seeking help unsuccessfully, I've gotten desperate.
The problem description is that every time I try to download an app from the Store, I'm presented with the following error message:
<app name> could not be downloaded due to an error. (Error retrieving information from server. [RPC:S-7:AEC-7 3YGA-G3G7-CV0FK]) This happens with either purchased or free apps, and with both new or ones that are already installed on my phone.
I've been trying to research the issue. XDA even has a guide on play store errors and have found recommendations for error messages similar (not identical) to mine, but none of what I have found has helped me.
Here is what I have tried so far
-Cleared app store, download manager, play services and services framework cache and data on my phone.
-Uninstalled and reinstalled the play store app on my phone.
-Removed and re-created my account on Settings -> Account on my phone.
-Factory reseted my phone.
I will appreciate any advice you can give me regarding the matter.
Best regards.
tl;dr version: <app name> could not be downloaded due to an error. (Error retrieving information from server. [RPC:S-7:AEC-7 3YGA-G3G7-CV0FK]) when trying to get stuff from the play store app on my phone. Tried all of the above.
Hi, I have had similar issues to what you describe. I have found that Google Play seems to throw an error whenever I try to download an app using a Google account that isn't registered to Google Plus (Google +). I would suggest signing up for Google + (even though you may never actually use the social network) and try downloading the app again.
Alternatively, you could sign in using a different account already signed up to Google + and try downloading the app.
Another thing you should make sure is that your Google Play Services are up to date.
If you are using an older Android version, the app may simply not be supported on that version of Android (in which case, you may want to look into installing the latest update from your manufacturer or flashing a custom rom of the newest version possible for your device)
Let us know if signing up for Google + does anything.
Good luck,
Golfball_Pro

Tried clearing data/cache for Play Store apps, flushing the hosts file to just 127.0.0.1 localhost, and tried connecting to G+. G+ is giving a can't connect to the server error. I may just have to go back to MoDaCo Gr9.2 and forget about rooted 6.3.3. At least Play worked on MoDaCo last time I used it.
