Hello everybody. I have been having problems with downloading items from the Play store on my Android phone. After spending hours trying to solve the issue by myself and seeking help unsuccessfully, I've gotten desperate.
The problem description is that every time I try to download an app from the Store, I'm presented with the following error message:
<app name> could not be downloaded due to an error. (Error retrieving information from server. [RPC:S-7:AEC-7 3YGA-G3G7-CV0FK]) This happens with either purchased or free apps, and with both new or ones that are already installed on my phone.
I've been trying to research the issue. XDA even has a guide on play store errors and have found recommendations for error messages similar (not identical) to mine, but none of what I have found has helped me.
Here is what I have tried so far
-Cleared app store, download manager, play services and services framework cache and data on my phone.
-Uninstalled and reinstalled the play store app on my phone.
-Removed and re-created my account on Settings -> Account on my phone.
-Factory reseted my phone.
I will appreciate any advice you can give me regarding the matter.
Best regards.
tl;dr version: <app name> could not be downloaded due to an error. (Error retrieving information from server. [RPC:S-7:AEC-7 3YGA-G3G7-CV0FK]) when trying to get stuff from the play store app on my phone. Tried all of the above.
Hi, I have had similar issues to what you describe. I have found that Google Play seems to throw an error whenever I try to download an app using a Google account that isn't registered to Google Plus (Google +). I would suggest signing up for Google + (even though you may never actually use the social network) and try downloading the app again.
Alternatively, you could sign in using a different account already signed up to Google + and try downloading the app.
Another thing you should make sure is that your Google Play Services are up to date.
If you are using an older Android version, the app may simply not be supported on that version of Android (in which case, you may want to look into installing the latest update from your manufacturer or flashing a custom rom of the newest version possible for your device)
Let us know if signing up for Google + does anything.
Good luck,

OK, I'm ecstatic! First of all, thank you for your reply.
Although I didn't have much hopes of joining G+ to be the solution, it turned out it worked to fix the problem as per your advice. After hours of struggling, you save me from more aggravation. Thank you, thank you. I am truly grateful.

Tried clearing data/cache for Play Store apps, flushing the hosts file to just 127.0.0.1 localhost, and tried connecting to G+. G+ is giving a can't connect to the server error. I may just have to go back to MoDaCo Gr9.2 and forget about rooted 6.3.3. At least Play worked on MoDaCo last time I used it.

Hi!
I purchased Tasker android app on the android market 7th march. When i try to download that app i receive "Error Takser could not be downloaded due to and error. (403)". My bank confirm Google charged, but i can't download it. If i visit android market using web browser i can see i already purchased it. If i clear cache data on "Play store" app its not work? Are there any solution?
Why don't you contact the developer with your order number and see if he can help
Email google about this issue.
I'm having this issue with all my Android Devices....this is apparently a problem with google. I've been in contact with them and they said their were issues with teh conversion to Google Play. I've been dealing with this for 2 weeks and have access to free apps, but I can't buy any. I've been forced to purchase apps from the Amazon Appstore. Google apparently doesn't want my money....I've been sending emails to google and the developers of the apps I purchased (Scrubs and Cut the Rope: Experiments) and have had literally NO correspondence from google or the the developers. This sucks, as I just got my Prime and Picked up a Used A100, now Google is screwing me....Just some bad news...considering that it's been 2 weeks since this issue cropped up for me and the fact that Google (and it appears the developers) are ignoring my emails, I'm going to assume two things, Google doesn't care, suggesting you start a new google account and re-buying your apps, or it's a known issue and they just don't want to deal with us right now....I just want a straight answer....It could be months before this is fixed....I recommend emailing google ASAP.
I have the same issue. Galaxy S2.
I downloaded an application ($20) from a forum to test it before purchasing, now after uninstalling it, it says i've already purchased it!
So i go to click INSTALL (no Buy button) in the Market (Google Play) and it says error 403 or something..
I thought I would be smart and download the AppBrain appstore. Well the STUPID thing is there is no reason to ever use this, as it just opens up the Market and wants me to install again without buying!
I tried to do the same thing with the Amazon app store, but they too divert you back to the Market app (market:// I assume)
Has anyone got any ideas on how I can "reset" or make the market think I haven't purchased this Application, and be able to purchase it legitimately and support the developer and receive frequent updates form the developer????
Thank you very very much!
Don't worry dude, every android users are facing the same issue all over the world. It is the Google's side that is having issues.
My google play have your issue intermediately few days ago.
I've had the same problem so I decided to use Wifi from home. I found that by using my home wifi that I was able to update. I know this doesn't help the problem if you are not connected to wifi but if you are at home - it might help

Just started getting this error again. Anyone else? Tried clearing store cache, dalvik-cache and google framework cache. Still gives a 403 error when attempting to download a paid app.
I just did a factory reset on my phone, and all my apps, free and paid installed no problem.. except Smart Keyboard Pro. It showed "purchased", I clicked it and told it to install (from the PC), and that was over an hour ago. I have restarted, and it still wont download, i get the 403 error each time..
I'm open for ideas...

Your suggestion works perfectly! Unfortunately, it is requiring me to repurchase an app I've already paid for and I don't want to repay. I know, I know $2.99 is not going to break the bank; but it's kinda the principle. No worries, if I don't find an alternative solution I will be forking over the cash.
So I have had this ongoing issue as well for over 9 months. Tech support was a joke, like some of you have figured out.
Somehow, with no intervention from me, the problem fixed itself both on the website and the device. Not sure what happened, but im happy it did. I was fairly close to cutting all ties to google services over this, guess I dont have to now.
Here appslova.com have compiled solutions to fix error 403:
Method 1: The most common fix for most Android market or Google Play related errors.
Go to system settings>> Accounts>>Google>>remove your Gmail account
Now from settings>>Apps>>All> Force stop, Clear data and cache for Google Play Store, Google Service Framework and Download Manager (like in method 1)
Now again go to settings>> Accounts>>Google>>Add your gmail account
Restart your android and then accept all the Google terms and setup Google settings
Rerun Google Play Store and update or install your app.
Method 2-Clearing Proxy:
Go to settings>>Wireless and Networks>>More>>Mobile Networks
APN (Access Point Name)>>MOWAP>>Edit
Select clear Proxy option
Try to re-run the installation in Google Play Store
Method 3-Router Proxy Settings:
Open your router configuration or settings panel (example- typing 192.168.1.1 on the browser brings up the router settings on my TP-Link router)
Now find your filter settings>>Uncheck Proxy
If that didn’t work also uncheck Cookies box from the filter settings
Now install your app from Google Play
Method 4- Alternative Google account
Create another Google account if you currently have only one account
Open Google Play Store>>Press Menu button>>Accounts>>select the alternative Gmail account
Now try installing the app
Method 5- Browser Fix: I found this solution on Phonebuff.com.
Go to play.google.com on your Computer’s web browser (preferably Google Chrome).
Sign into your Google account (by hitting the sign-in button at the top right).
Search for the app you wish to purchase and download.
Open the app’s page up by clicking the title link.
On the “install” or “purchase” button, right click and press “inspect element.”
Above the row that will be highlighted, you’ll see several lines of code. Locate the “data-ispurchased=”true” code (near the bottom of the paragraph).
Double click on the “true” in data-is purchased=”true” and change it to “false” then press enter on your keyboard.
Now click on “installed” or “purchased” to buy the app as you normally would
These methods might seem like a lot of work but hopefully one of these methods will solve the 403 error for your Android.
On ICS and no problems till yesterday, was updating some apps on google play and had to leave the wifi area, closed the prime and next time I get server error. Tried stopping the app deletining cache, still same problem. So tried uninstalling all updates to play and got back to Market, still the same error. Tried a Factory reset and still getting the same error.
Any ideas anyone ?
Just tried looking at Google Play on the PC and does not now recognise the Prime even though Gmail has synched OK on it

Hi,
It might be worth deleting your account, re-booting, re-installing your account , and see if that works.
Tried that, eventually resorted to a Factory reset. Still the same problem and now the Prime is not recognised on the PC Google store whereas it was previously, but Gmail is syncing withe the Prime no problem, really weird. But if I cant access the store its not fit for purpose and is going back

Have you tried simply turning off your Prime's Wi-Fi setting and turning it back on? I got that same Server Error and did not go away until I turned of Wi-fi and back on. Weird, I know. This happened to me like 3 times when I was trying to delete caches and data and whatever else to get rid of the 101 error. Rebooting did not cure it, either ... I had to actually off/on the wi-fi setting. Go figure.
Once you get rid of the server error, if you still have the Market/Google Play error, simply delete your Gmail account under Settings | Accounts & sync by clicking on your Gmail account, then clicking the "options" icon on the upper right of your screen (6 small square dots). Reboot and go back into your gmail accounts, etc ... logging in as necessary.
Hope it works for you, too...
Have the same "server error" on 101 for 2 days already.
Tried everything, including changing to different firmwares, different market versions e.t.c. Not working. And old versions does not auto update too.
Seems like the problem with market server address, but it;s a bit strange that it remains even after changing firmware, and other Google services work normally.

You did not mention removing your Gmail account under Accounts & sync in Settings, then rebooting ... worked like a charm for me. As soon as I logged back into Gmail and went to the Market, all was well. So, if you did not already try it, you might give it a shot. My Prime was getting that error for a full day ... got really annoying.

Hi Michael,
It sounds like you're having general connectivity issues - please try the following troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:
- Reboot your device
- Sign in and out of Google Talk repeatedly to restore connection to our servers:
1. Go to your device’s app launcher, and press the Talk app
2. If you’re already signed into Talk, press Menu, and then touch Sign out
3. Launch Talk again to sign in (if you are unable to sign in, please let me know)
- Clear the cache of the Google Play Store app (Settings > Applications > Manage applications > All > Play Store > Clear cache)
- If you're using WiFi, ensure firewalls are not blocking access to ports required for Google Play (TCP and UDP 5228)
- Confirm that there is strong connectivity on your device, and contact your mobile service provider if you aren't connected
- Uninstall updates to the Google Play Store app by visiting:
Settings > Applications > Manage Applications, selecting "Play Store" under the "All" tab or filter and touching "Uninstall updates"
If none of these steps resolve the issue, please let me know, and I will continue to investigate the problem - any other detail you can provide about the issue and how/when it occurs will be extremely helpful.

@TaIz82 @stevenshea great! Glad that it worked for you.
@G1azier I tried vpn but no use, maybe I got on wrong one Great that there is this solution too.
@macowbourne
This can hardly be an general connection issue, I have around 600 people visited my blog post, with same issue. And they didn't have it ever before.
One more proof that this is not connectivity problem, all this user can search apps from the phone, but they cant install them in most of cases. So connection to server still exist, problem is with showing filtered content of home screen of Play app for some regions/providers.
Thanks to @G1azier post and his solution, I updated my post with US VPN solution that works even if device is not rooted http://viewoneworld.wordpress.com/2012/03/24/google-play-server-error-quick-fix check it out!
It's definetly at Googles end just used a proxy server to kid it I'm in the UK and hey ho works perfectley all apps downloaded and synced

Have you ever linked your Google account and YouTube account on the YouTube website? If you log in to YouTube using a different username then this is required first. If you log in using your Google Account address then they will already be linked.

When entering Youtube app do you see an error at the bottom that only says "Error"?
With the newest version, I have that error. With older ones I'm all good. If yours is like that, I can provide an older youtube version for you to use.
Troubleshooting the error seems the problem is caused by failed authentication coming from Google Play Services. Tried messing around with GmsCore.apk, clearing data, deleting apk and so on but it's a no go. Few people seem to have issues on the web, but no solution so far. Seems to occur with modified gapps, but even with stock gapps I can't get it to work.

Uninstall updates for Playstore
Clear data for Downlaod manager
Keep the phone connected to internet and reboot
after reboot wait for couple of minutes so that Playstore update will be installed properly.. Then try updating your apps..
I've tried everything
I have tried evey solution that I could possible find to try and stop getting error 927. It's definitly linked to my google account/gmail. When I create a new gmail, everything works fine. Problem is all of my purchased apps are attached to gmail with 927 error. Someone please help. I'm desperate!!!! I have Verizon Galaxy S4. Doesn't matter what I wipe, if I'm rooted or not, or if I try using my account on my wife's S4... All give me error 927!!!

Try the newest Play Store if yours is not up to date. I remember the issue in my S4 and newest version solved it after wiping data and install update.

Yes its the same account I've had going all the way back to the first Android phone. It has gotten better. I ODIn'ed back from a 4.4.2 ROM to a custom 4.3 ROM and my market works most of the time. When it starts actign up I usually have to clear data/wipe caches, restart and wait a bit for it to resync my account. Kind of a pain, but working most of the time is better than none of the time.

How are the Play store on the web working for you when signed in with the account you are having issues with. For me I have trouble loading in anything @all. Especially the top list, and my purchases.
I believe there are issues with older accounts that did not get updated/patched with new settings after ICS update, or the 3.0+ update of their store when it became Play Store and not Android market. When I use my other account all is ok, but there I have no purchased apps.
If you want you can find the 2.3.6 version of Market and replace the Play store and you will find that all issues are gone. Now I use Legazy Play store witch can be used together with normal play. Just need to push it to system/apps on 4.3 or system/priv-apps on 4.4.
Use all this advise at own risk.

Anyone have any luck with this/ age of Gmail accounts?
I just recently started having this issue on a stock GS4A on at&t. Maybe a week ago could not get updates and wrote it off as a busy server then realized this weekend I could not get anything new.
I tried every fix I could find on the forums and even a fix that the 2nd tier Google tech suggested (no different from the forum fixes other than including turning the automatic date/time on and off). Every method was a band-aid at best: one or two apps can come through before I get the 927 error or the DF-BPA-30 error. At least the error codes are consistent...
I honestly think this is related to the age of my account. I have had a Gmail account since 2007 or so when I believe it was still in beta. I am surmising that older accounts are on an older server or something that is having issues. I made two dummy accounts and could download anything I wanted, so there is nothing wrong with my handset or connections. The temporary work-around I am using is adding a secondary gmail account and adding any apps through it, while still using primary for mail, contacts, and calendar. I am not a heavy user, so it works, but I should not have to patch it together like this!
So- anyone who is getting this error; how long have you been a Google user? Anyone else tried "old vs new" for a cause of the error?
When I replied to the 2nd tier tech I told him his method did not work, but asked to look into the account itself. I'll update if I have anything to say.

Ask to get your case transferred to apps division. There I got real help. They are really good. And have helped me a lot.
There are two possible methods to solve error 927 on android:
Method 1:
Go to settings>>”All”>>Select “Google Play Store”
Now Force Stop>>Clear Data>>Clear Cache
Now again try downloading or updating the app
If the above didn’t work, go to settings>>”All”>>Select “Google Play Store”>>Uninstall Updates
Again, from “All”>> Select “Download Manager”>>Clear Data and Cache
Rerun Google Play Store and install/update your app or game
Method 2:
Go to system settings>> Accounts>>Google>>remove your Gmail account
Now from settings>>Apps>>All> Force stop, Clear data and cache for Google Play Store, Google Service Framework and Download Manager (like in method 1)
Now again go to settings>> Accounts>>Google>>Add your gmail account
Restart your android and then accept all the Google terms and setup Google settings
Rerun Google Play Store and update or install your app.

It is the most annoying issue facing by many Android users, that occurs when you download or update any games and apps from the Google play store. But for me, this error solved by the just clear cache.
I'm running official ICS on Xperia U and I'm facing some problems.
I tried to install Sonic Dash in Google Play but it would be stuck on "Transferring..." so since I couldn't stop the proccess I had to uninstall updates of Google Play.
When I launched Google Play again and tried to install it again, it shows error "Error retrieving information from server[DF-SA-01]", or something like that. I googled it and tried all the suggestions; however it just wouldn't work. I tried to remove Google Account and adding it again using both the Google Play method and the settings one but it would say that the account is already on the phone (I EXPLICITLY REMOVED THE ACCOUNT, checked everything and it would ask for Google Account).
What should I do now? This error is extremely annoying and I'm about to throw my phone on the wall. I don't think formatting will work, didn't try that but I don't want to lose my data. What if in the end it glitches again and says "There is already a account with that email [email protected]"?
Thanks. I'm pissed off, sorry.
