Hi,
Today I tried ti flash an Android 4.2.2 Rom. First I installed Siyah Kernel and then SuperNexus 2.0.
The Problem is, that the Phone restarts while booting up Android, sometimes when the X is shown up and sometimes a few seconds later.
I made a factory reset and wiped all Data. I tried another Rom (Slim Bean) but there was the same Problem.
Please Help Me,
Maize
After you flashed rom you flashed a kernel? If yes probably kernel is incompatible else try rom nuke script and flash rom and gapps again
Send from my SGS2 I9100 with HassanROM and latest DorimanX 8.xx kernel
that doesn't work, any other Ideas??? and i didn't flash a kernel after flashing the rom

Flash rom and kernel nuke scripts via recovery.
Flash Rom.
If you still get reboots go back into recovery and wipe data/factory reset and reboot device.
Which specific model of S2 do you have?
Same problem, it's a SGS2 I9100

Hello, I hope this is the right group.
I have spent the last 2 days trying to get JB working on my SGS2. I previously had ICS Hydra h2o 1.4.1 ROM on my device.
The troubles started when I tried booting into CWM recovery. The phone wouldn't go past the yellow triangle so I had to use ODIN to flash stock Samsung ICS ROM on the phone to get it working again. I have since tried multiple JB ROMs with different kernels but most of them get past the yellow triangle but then stop on logos varying between kernels. I am also unable to boot into CWM recovery and must flash a CF-Root kernel using ODIN to get into recovery.
It is strange that this happens only with JB ROMs and I have no trouble installing Hydra h2o again through recovery.
I always use the same method of installing ROMs through CWM:
- wipe data/factory reset
- wipe cache
- wipe dalvik
- install .zip from sdcard
I have also tried fixing permissions before and after flashing ROMs, nothing seems to get me into the OS.
One ROM, Vanilla RootBox, I have found to sometimes boot all the way into the OS but the system frequently freezes and is unstable. Looks amazing tho.
Do you have any ideas on how I could get JB ROMs working with my SGS2? Is there anything I am missing?

Follow this:
-boot to CWM recovery
-wipe data /factory reset
-wipe dalvik cache (under advanced)
-format /system (under mount and storage)
-flash ROM
-flash Gapps (for jelly bean)
-fix permissions
-reboot phone
Done
Swyped from my Samsung Galaxy SII
Thank you for the reply, but that method does not seem to work either.
One thing I have noticed though is when I select wipe data/factory reset it reports an error formatting /sdcard/.android_secure.
Is this something that could be causing my problems?

When I'm flashing I'm using XLPB kernel with CF-root. That's the kernel I flash to get into CWM when the ROMs misbehave.

4) flash the JB rom zip file(Vanilla root box).

Gives me Kernel panic or stops at the triangle loading screen. Seems the only way to get into CWM is through CF-root.

Use a newer version of siyah or dorimanx, they should work fine
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
I have tried three versions of syiah, including 4.1.4 but I will try dorimanx and report with the results.
edit: dorimax kernel is the same.
One thing I noticed tough is whenever I wipe dalvik cache the system reports "unknown volume for /ext-sd blablabla" - maybe this is connected to my problem?
I am at a complete stop...
No JB kernels seem to work whatsoever. Is there any wit to flash the bootloader? Or is that even possible?
I really would like to get JB working on my device.
There must be something about the previous state of my phone, some files or folders that are in the way or are missing or somewhat. Is there any way to completely reset the phone? Not just factory resetting it since that is not working.
edit: Progress! These are my steps:
- Downloaded fresh stock Samsung ROM and another version of CF-root.
- Flashed stock ROM and then CF-root kernel.
- Booted into recovery and did the whole wipe.
- Flashed .zip twice (don't know if that did the trick or what)
- Wipe dalvik cache and fix permissions.
After that the phone booted normally and I'm now running ResurrectionRemix with Android 4.1.1, hoping it wil be awesome as ****.
Hey guyz

What ur missing for now is a little commonsense to Read before doing anything silly
1)U should be aware (if not get it now), that u cannot Dual boot Stock Samsung JB4.1.2 or Roms based on it, unless they are modified.
2) Siyah doesn't support Rom's like CM10.1 which is based on Android 4.2.2 properly.
3) Dual boot not wrk'ng with JB 4.1.2 (stock samsung/and roms based on it) is due to the reason that they use 'Preload partition' which is required as 'Secondary rom-partition' for Dual boot .
4) which is the reason why u werent able to boot CM10.1 in the firsrt place and could'nt restore/boot back the stock JB (reason being the data in the preload/secondary rom partition being deleted)
5) now start afresh by installing/flashing a stock JB rom via ODIN.
He he he I read siyah doesn't support jb dual boot still was stupid enough to try :/ ...
And as I mentioned...flash stock still doesn't let it boot... I see Samsung and then boot loop

okay i flashed philz kernel ... formated /wiped data ,dalvik, system, cache preload, ... flashed neat rom.. success... then i tried flashing stock rom.. got a bootloop after seeing samsung logo...
i can restore nandroid of cm10.1
bt restoring nandroid of pure stock gives bootloop.
Sounds like your problem is to do with the /preload folder. To restore a stock nandroid, you also have to restore the preload folder associated with that backup. Search on xda for hawkerpaul's backup and restore scripts for preload, and read his OP on how to use them. That should get you sorted. As you wouldn't have already backed it up from the sound of things, you might not have any luck restoring that exact stock backup, and may have to reflash. If you need to extract data from the nandroid, titanium backup can extract data from a nandroid.

I downloaded and followed each instruction as instructed in the MIUI V5 rom page for samsung galaxy s2 but after flashing the rom got stuck and boot animation. So i decided to go back to my stock rom.So i did wipe cache and factory wipe too but even after that the stock rom is looping at boot animation. What did i do wrong ? I was running JB version 4.1.2.
factory reset maybe a couple of times. Then cache
Flash siyah v6 (I9100 right?) and wipe dalvik.

Thanks people for the help.I forgot to wipe dalvic. Now the rom is working perfectly.
To gastonw "Flash siyah v6 (I9100 right?) and wipe dalvik." siyahv6 kernal works for all the roms for i9100 ?
No, only JB ROMs.

hey guys so what happened is after flashing siyah kernel onto the pac rom so i can overclock my phone but after flashing the.zip file my phone would be in a black screen after getting past the sgs2 gt-i9100 screen and siyah kernel the screen would go black when it would have the boot animation i think this is a soft brick/boot loop because i can go into clockworkmod and download mode i tried doing a wipe data wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache but still no hope so could anyone please help me thanks
Don't flash siyah on cm/aokp rom. Use dorimanx. So to fix go to recovery and flash dorimanx 9.xx and reboot. If it stays black then go back to recovery and factory reset. Get dorimanx from link below.
http://dorimanx.shine.sk/
thanks for the kernel i will try it out later but i fixed the problem by just reflashing cm 10.2 as it comes with its own kernel
I am currently running WizzedKAT 2.0 rom with jeboo kernel on my i777. Want to update it to version 3.3 as posted here is S2 Development.
I have tried installing it with jeboo kernel and also with philz but my phone stuck in bootloop or sometimes restarts. Any idea how to install this rom and which is suitable kernel for this rom so my capacitive buttons will work ?
Looks like u need a kitkat kernel with that version 3.3 of WizzedKAT Rom. U could try http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48770563&postcount=1 RenderBroken's custom kernel.

Actually, I think WizzedKat is still 4.1.2, (just has a modified build.prop); AJK4.9 MicSwap would be your best bet.

Yes it is based on 4.1.2. Will my capacitive button work on this ajk? And do I have to flash kernel after installing the rom or should I flash the rom using ajk kernel? Because this rom installs kernel as well in the end.
Yes, AJK 4.9 MicSwap will work if that Rom is JB based. Try installing that Rom with AJK, since u r having problems with the install. Then flash AJK after u flash the Rom.

Clean install?
Just checking, but did you enter recovery and perform a wipe data/factory reset to see if it will clear the boot issue?

Okay, clean install. But my question still pertains. Did you enter recovery and perform a wipe data/factory reset after step 9?
Maybe it would do nothing to resolve the boot issue, but it's just the next thing I would try under the circumstances. Sometimes things are so obvious that they get missed or skipped.
is there anyone installed this rom without problem?
want to try this rom but still afraid will get error like these
im currently on Resurrection ROM right now

I think Rom is not compatible with i777 right now or kernel is an issue. Because I am using wizzedkat 2.0 right now and its working perfectly fine.

I 've installed this rom on my sgh-i777 and i'm on jeboo kernel.....at first i had issues like you did, it was stuck on samsung logo and kept on restarting.....i tried a couple of times but still the same reuslt....so then i flashed with phillz recovery and did a complete wipe and formatted the system and installed the rom and now it working flawlessly
i guess i'm pretty late but i think you need to give it a try
