Not enough info. Is is only one website or every website. Which browser. Have you tried multiple browsers. Sounds like a website-side scripting error & nothing to do with your phone or connection unless there's something damaged/corrupt on the firm/software side.
Answer the above questions & we'll go from there.

only google works, no other websites. I usually use google chrome, doesnt work on that and i also tried on the stock browser, same result
Clear data on both browsers. If that doesn't work, uninstall both browsers, reboot, reinstall (do not restore them from a Ti backup/similar or restore app data), test. Then try a clean install of stock, which means no restoring apps or data until you've tested again with different browsers; the install needs to be 'clean' because if there's something funky in your app data/etc & you restore that, the problem will persist. I realise this is a pain in the arse to do, but you either want the problem fixed or you don't, so I suggest you take the time to do this/do it when you do have time.
If it's still happening at that point, it's a carrier-side issue causing you problems; which is the case the majority of the time with connectivity issues despite people automatically thinking it's something phone-side every time.

Anyone use the web app at readability.com to read stuff on their phones? I've been using it fine on Eugene's Ginger Clone ROM, and I flashed CM7 yesterday to try that out for a while, and I got an interesting error when I tried to use the Readability site:
Readability Mobile was unable to create the database to store your articles. Your device may not be supported, or your cache may be full. Go into your browser settings and clear your cache and try again.
Click to collapse
So I tried clearing cache like it said, and it didn't change anything. I tried using different browsers like Dolphin and Opera, and still had the same error. Since it worked fine on an earlier ROM, I'm assuming the difference here is CM7. Anyone know if there's some kind of setting that I'm missing that would allow the browser to create the database? I'm really liking CM7 and don't want to go through the pain of going back to a Samsung based ROM, but I use that site often enough that I'd pretty much have to if it won't work on CM7.
Try this, menu, more, settings, user agent, make it ie.. Site should see your phone as a pc now. Good?
Doesn't seem to help. I tried a couple of other agents and it keeps spitting the same error at me. Best I can tell, the app wants to write something to the phone and it isn't allowed to. I tried to catch it in a logcat and the only related thing I turn up is:
E/browser ( 3345): Console: Uncaught TypeError: Cannot call method 'transaction' of null https://www.readability.com/media/js/persistence/persistence.store.websql.js:67
Some kind of javascript thing, but every sort of "allow javascript" setting I can find in the browser seems to be correct.
Out of curiosity, do you have the latest Adobe Flash from the Market installed?
If not, maybe try that. I am not familiar with the site you are using...
I started getting force closes all over the place, so I odined to stock and flashed nightly #6. Things seem to be working now and I'm able to use the Readability app again. Thanks for your help.
Hi everyone. It's been two days since the process com.google.process.gapps has started crashing, "stopping unexpectedly" whenever i use the browser on my tab.
Reading the error report, it seems (not 100% sure about that) this is somehow related to the bookmarks sync with Chrome, but i can't find a way to disable this.
Has anyone exprerienced the same issue? Any known solution? Thanks
Go to settings > accounts and sync, click on your account then uncheck everything, then manually sync everything one by one to see what is causing the error.
Then go to manage apps and clear the cache of all the problem apps and re-sync them once you're done. It might take a few tries but it should take care of that error.
I'll try that as soon as possible, thanks!
browser sync was causing this for me
I believe that bookmarks sync no long works with galaxy tab. Google changed something on their end that should have worked fine(it still works on the xoom, transformer, etc.) but since samsung changed a bunch of stuff for no apparent reason, it is now broken. samsung is so stupid sometimes..
So you're basically suggesting that bookmarks sync should stay off to avoid problems like that?
well I don't really know. I never used bookmark sync in the first place. I'm just going by what is said in this article.
http://www.zdnet.com/blog/perlow/br...gle-or-the-oems/17840?tag=mantle_skin;content
It turns out that at some point Google started making some changes to the backend systems that handle Google’s user account data. There’s nothing wrong with them doing this; it happens all the time. In fact, no other Android 3.1 tablets had any issues at all with the changes, and their bookmark sync continued to work without a blip on the radar.
Not Samsung, however... I did some digging around the internet, and it’s become somewhat well-known amongst Android developers that Samsung actually modifies core source code in the Android operating system that handles communicating with Google’s backend data services.

Well, that's a pity. I had just started to think it was a useful tool to keep track of unread web pages between work, home and outside...
Let's hope Samsung somehow fixes that.
PS: disabling bookmarks sync actually stops the process from crashing, I think I've solved (if we could really say so...) the issue. Thanks to all!
Thanks, disabling auto sync for browser has stopped the error. Samsung developers need to fix this - I can't auto sync my gmail
What am I missing here?
Ok be prepared, this post may be rather long winded however I will try my best to prevent that. I have a Tmobile G2x I purchased on launch date. Ive not attempted to Root, change roms, or anything of the sort. (as much as I always wanted to, I always felt that my skills were not good enough to attempt these ideas no matter how easy they may seem. I just did not want to be the cause of screwing up my phone that I paid dearly for)
So I have a friend who claims to be the master (of disaster so it turns out) of rooting androids and such. He stops by my house just to hang out and eventualy convinces me to let him root my phone and install CM7. Within a few minutes the phone was rooted (super1click) and was running CM7 release candidate. (I really dont know what all these things truly are but I drilled him for answers once he jacked up my phone and left me with a half-bricked phone) So he installed Rom manager and convinced me to upgrade to the premium version via marketplace so I did. He was then showing me how easy it was to flash new roms at the touch of a few buttons. He put on some other rom which looked like CM7 but claimed to have extra tweaks. It worked fine. A few minutes later he put on some Faux Rom which gave a boot up screen like my old Nexus One did. (Multicolored X) It seemed to work fine as well. Then he said lets check out the nightly CM7 Rom so he put it on. (however I dont think it ever actually put CM7 back on.-still on Faux?) Thats when things got crazy.
Now I get the com.google.process.gapps force close message all the time. He tried to fix it for 4 hours and finally gave up. Here is what I know he/we tried: After searching the internet for hours we tried everyone elses ideas. Clearing calenders cashes, un syncing, etc. We did about 40 factory resets. We have tried to install my backup (which was from BEFORE he even touched my phone) and upon holding both volume rockers and plugging in USB (no battery installed) and it still does nothing. Windows recognizes device but phone screen stays black. Tried Debug mode while doing this as well. If we hold the volume down button and power the little install bar comes on the screen and it does its thing (whatever that is) and goes right back to the way it was. I keep getting the gapps message all the time. After factory reset I cant even type in my gmail address to start the initial setup of the phone. The force close keeps cutting me off. If I type fast, I can sync the account but I cant use market whatsoever. Tried installing Rom manager to re-flash but just sticks at starting download and gapps pops up again.
My son is starting school tomorrow and he has a medical condition. I NEED this phone to communicate with the school nurse via emails and such. As of now I can only text, call, or surf web all while dodging force closes. If ANYONE out there can please help me get my phone back to normal Id greatly appreciate it. Im sure its something easy but as I said before, Im not good at this thing and thats why I never attempted it myself. Your welcome to submit answers here or PM me your phone # if you want to walk me through it on the phone. (I have a landline phone to talk to you on) Thanks in advance for everyones time and Im sorry this ended up being so long.
Hello,
Based on your post, I would suggest that you search your phone's development forum on XDA for a compatable clockwork recovery mod which will install a custom recovery on your phone. The thread will give you instructions on how to do so and how to enter recovery mode.
You can then enter the 'Backup and Restore' part of the recovery and restore your backup manually without using ROM manager. If this doesn't work, I would suggest that you then download the ROM of your choice and install it from the clockwork recovery. Make sure you clear user data and wipe the cache before you install.
Any fix yet? This is really annoying me as I rely on my bookmarks tremendously.
try this:
Open stock browser and under settings choose clear cache and deletehistory
It seems that many, if not all, of the apps I try to 'update' in the Android market generates an error on the Prime that says 'Application already exists' in the menu bar with an ! icon. This is annoying... I can uninstall / reinstall the app to get an update, but whenever I just click update in the Market, I get this error a lot.
Of course the application already exists! I'm updating it. Stupid Prime.
Does anyone have a fix for this? I searched the forum and didn't see anyone mention this annoying problem.
Are you getting system reboots?
Rumour has it the system reboots are a result of a failure while optimizing apps for ICS during the upgrade process.
Sounds like perhaps your OSs view of your apps is a little messed up...

No. Actually, I seem to have the least amount of problems with the Prime compared to most on the forum. Really, this issue and the weak GPS signal are the only ones I've had. Well, and the decreased wifi bandwidth when streaming bluetooth. But everything else generally runs smooth.
Two apps for example that I had this issue with... updating Google Voice and eTrade. Both of those for sure gave me the error that the app already existed. Uninstalling and reinstalling worked fine to grab the latest version.
Actually, I take that back. Sometimes when I do an uninstall / reinstall, it still says there is an update available.

Unfortunately I have the same issue. I haven't found a good way to work around it yet. As you have found sometimes uninstalling works and sometimes not.
Sometimes uninstalling it, rebooting the Prime, then reinstalling it works. Although, that's still sometimes as far as I can tell.
I've just started getting this issue when trying to update Officesuite Pro, first time it's happened.
Oddly enough when first typing this reply my Prime locked up and rebooted itself, which it's not done before.
Never had a reboot under ICS, at least not yet. But quite frequently have this problem. So I guess there is no correlation between the two.
The only anomalies that I experience are Skype or Talk video calls that suddenly die. No FC or any other message, Skype or Talk just exit.
I bet these types of problems will go away with a root and a custom rom in the future. Wish Asus would release the bootloader unlocking tool already!

Can you do that on a non-rooted Prime? I'm just waiting for the official unlock tool to go through that process.
This has happened to me on select apps too. Particularly xe app and officesuite pro. Can't seam to update them to the current version no matter what I do. Unistall/reinstall, clear delvik, and clear market data hasn't worked for me

Yeah... right now for me, it's Google Voice. And the worst part is, you can't get it to stop saying it's updating the market app even though it stops almost immediately. Annoying.
I get this sometimes, but I press update again and it updates fine

Random reboot is a normal way of life with android. A reboot here or there is nothing to worry about. Most of the time its from a bad app you installed. Now if you rebooting several times a day, then that's a problem. Its actually good to reboot or at least power down n then back on device every once in a while. It'll give device a fresh start on RAM and clear any mishaps that may have or could occur. Same deal with Ipad. They recommend rebooting every now n then for a fresh start and to have more ram available for use.
I haven't had this happen on my Prime, but I was having this same issue today on my Sprint GSII.
Not sure if this is a work around, but it just worked for me. Instead of updating the app from the 'my apps' section of the market, I went to the page in the market with the full app description. I clicked the update link there and it installed fine. I'll have to test this theory out more.
i too am facing similar probs. while updating WhatsApp and Skype too it shows that the application is already existing.
pls. note. both WhatsApp and Skype are under different Accounts
can this cause a prob that previously i would have installed it by 1 account and later on by another account when i changed the phone ?
pls. guide.
I just upgraded to the HTC One X+ and have found two problems that are unacceptable.
1. In any browser it seems (I've tried the Default, Dolphin & Firefox) I cannot save the Google Web Site "Search Settings". I always get "Sorry, we failed to save your settings. Try again later.". This has been the case with this phone only for weeks. My old phone, a Samsung Captivate, it works just fine. I have tried many things in the phone settings to no avail. Can anyone help me?
2. In the default browser, I cannot erase the browsing history completely. Even though the history shows as empty, you can still <Forward> & <Back> to ALL previously viewed web pages. It will always open to the last page browsed, not the set home page. I've tried a couple of history erasers but none did anything. Can anyone help here as well?
Thanks.

Thanks, I tried that for the history problem, it didn't help. I've tried many many things for both problems, too many to list. But I will retry them all just on the off chance I do not remember correctly(very likely).
Can't save Google settings or erase browser history completely.
Does anyone have possible solutions? I really would like to solve this & not let this thread die out. I'm sure that I am not the only person to notice this issue.
Dang, you are right. I've just stuck with the stock "Internet" browser on this device as it works so well/fast for me and also the only one for this device so far with Flash abilities. I also closed all tabs, cleaned history, even used the famous "History Eraser" app from the playstore and cleaned out stock browser history. I then opened up the stock browser, hit menu, back button, what do you know it goes back to previous web page! WTF is right my man. I don't have anything to hide personally to worry about such things but damn this is for sure a bug none the less! Never had a device where i could "wipe" browser history yet the browser still must obviously keep a secret history backup as to why would it know the previous pages if history is truly cleaned out? For sure a bug and hope there can be a fix for this.
I would think if the stock browser gave you the ability to actually close "ALL" tabs then this wouldn't happen. I mean even your intial tab/page which can never be closed. Seems it must have 1 page active when opening up the stock browser. I would think if there would be a way to fully close this tab as well, the browser would then open a fresh initial tab from scratch causing no "back" button capabilities anymore.
Maybe cleaning out the history does so only to all other tabs instead of all including the intial tab or original tab opened?
Can't comment on third party browsers as i don't have a need for them. If it ain't broke don't fix it and the stock browser flys for me and love the interface personally.

Yes if u go to settings, apps, all, Internet (stock browser), there's the option to clear data. It says it will basically wipe all settings clean. I have too many settings saved in my browser so didn't attempt to do this but if it's important to the OP maybe he will try it?
Either way even if this does work it's not at all a true fix to an obvious problem. If one wants to really clear history they have to wipe the whole app clean? Hopefully a much user friendly alternative will be found or "created."

For problem #2 - My issues with this is that I can't just back out of the app without ending up at the AT&T default home page(or the last page viewed) instead of Google. The app still keeps running even after backing out completely. You have to use 3rd party System Task Manager to kill the app.
Here's what I can remember for sure...(I'm retrying them as I write)
From within Internet - Clear History, Cache, Form Data - Forward/back still there.
Doing a Clear Data from Settings>Apps>All>Internet does work, but it also wipes all my settings & home page.
Disable Google+ & Google Search - no help.
Unchecked everything in Privacy & Security in Internet Settings - no help
Checked & Unchecked all & various combos of settings in Internet Settings>Advanced - no help. (too many combos to remember).
UPDATE - Two things...
1. Settings>Apps>All>Internet>Clear Cache just worked. Why I don't know. I was sure I did this before. multiple times with no change. But I now have my Google home Page with no Forward/back arrows. For what ever reason it works now. I still think it should work inside the app but it does not.
2. All of a sudden I can now save my Google Search Settings. I don't know what happened there because it has not work on this phone since I got it, yet it worked on me old phone during the same time frame so it was not Google itself (I think).
Was there an OTA update? About software shows Android 4.1.1 but I am not sure what I had on it when I got it three weeks ago.
Figured that would work for history bit hopefully we can find a real fox for this.
Found a quick little fix for browser history. Just have to trick your phone a bit. What I did with the stock browser was open an incognito tab. Now close out all other open tans so the incognito tab is the only one. You will see there is now no back or forward options. Now go to settings, history, clear all, open a regular tab, no back or forward buttons.

:good:Thanks, I tried it & it does seem to work. I just wish Google/Android would fix whats broken instead of worrying over new features. Like all the App/services running in the back ground I will never use, that I can't turn off. I like long battery life.
I'm on an unlocked Tmobile S5 running on AT&T network w/ NE6 firmware.....rooted with towelroot but fully stock otherwise. No Xposed or any other modules. The only "rooted" thing I've done is AdAway.
Every time I try to load a web page that seems to have pictures or heavy graphics or even using the Facebook app on the phone, it either refuses to load or takes FOREVER. With the web browsers, sometimes I can hit the "x" button at the top and it will show the page (as if it were waiting to load the rest of the images and I stopped it....but it shows most of the page). With the Facebook app, just as another example, the text loads fine, but just blank spaces where the pics would be. Tried Facebook from browser and thought it was better, but only on the first part that it loaded....once I tried to scroll down, same issue.
I have tried 4 different browsers with the same result (stock, Chrome, Dolphin and Opera). I cleared Cache in stock recovery and seemed to help for all of 5 minutes. I have a Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 running stock 4.4.2 and no issues whatsoever....everything loads quick. I have an S3 running 4.1.2 and no problems either. This problem occurs with WiFi or LTE.....doesn't change. I tried every Google and XDA search I could think of.
Anybody offer any help? It is VERY frustrating. Screenshots of what it looks like below.
i have the same issue when google fails i go to dolphin yes it is aggravating.i un install them and then re install them but no luck.

You don't give us a lot of detail about your phone or browser configuration to go on but it sounds like a slow proxy. So more than likely your adaway proxy isn't working properly.
Completely disable adaway for a while to confirm. Alternately your carrier may have speed issues, contrast your results from a data vs known fast wifi connection then.

I don't know what other details to give that would be significant. Every browser used was/is used unchanged from the way it was downloaded from Play store, with Mobile user agent. My Wi-Fi typically is 30Mbs/2Mbs and LTE 20Mbs/8Mbs, and afore mentioned tab that works fine using that Wi-Fi.
I did unroot and seemed to fix it. If Adaway is my problem, is there anything I can do to address that? That is one of my primary reasoned for root. Or, is there another ad blocker available?

Troubleshooting is deductive reasoning based on observation, detailed facts and related knowledge. There are some astute members here, but none of them are telepathic, nor can they see the device that you are looking at. It would be in your own interest to provide as much technical detail as you possibly can so that they understand the nuances of what is going on and more effectively help you.
Pertinent details would include browser versions, proxy configuration, adaway build, carrier and city where you are seeing the issue, the results of disabling adaway and whether the issue is present on both data and WiFi connections, a logcat and any other factual details or observations that appear relevant.
