[Q] Samsung CSC description of ALL - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello
I've found a lot about CSC Country Sales Codes, but I've still got some Questions about a given example:
I8190NXXALL6_I8190NAUTALL1_AUT
This should be a non branded ROM for Switzerland (AUT). What means the XX after the model number I8190N? According to the letter code XX means Austria, Berlgium, France, Germany, etc. but not Switzerland? Is my letter code list incomplete?
The other question is the word ALL and its number. Does it mean all languages supported? Is the following number just a version incremental?
Thanks for your help, also links to guides are appreciated.

[Q] gt-i9100lkaxeu vs gt-i9100lkanee!!

I realized That Code for UK versions of GSII is GT-I9100LKAXEU and In Sweden it is GT-I9100LKANEE. Does anyone knows if this is only a firmware difference or something more Serious( Like NFC ! )
Aside from it being country code, I don't know what else they could have classified.
United Kingdom - (LK) (A) XEU
Sweden - (LK) (A) NEE
Perhaps NFC might be one, but what else? Toss in your ideas guys.

The last 3 letters are the Carrier Specific Code (csc) which holds information like vpn setting and other identifiers for the likes of the android market. That doesn't mean the phones won't be different though.
Probably it is like old SGS. Product Code (XEU, KOR, NEE etc) practically just describes the programs you can download from the Samsung Apps. The product code can be easily changed with custom roms and reverted back by flashing original Samsung firmware. At the moment the product code in my SGS is KOR and my original code is XEE.

[Q] CSC TPH from handtec

i bought my Galaxy S II from handtec and when i checked the CSC code it was set to TPH = PORTUGAL and no XEU code is available, how can i have XEU in the CSC settings, also i'm on KE2 and when i connect the phone to kies i can't update it to KE7 (getting the message that i have the latest code!) why is that and does it have to do with CSC.
sorry guys this is my first android device and i learning a lot. i appreciate you help in advance.

KE7 is not on Kies server for your product code yet .

It may be worth contacting Handtec and asking why the phone you bought from (for the UK market presumably) has a Portuguese CSC code. I wonder if they took delivery of an allocation intended for Portugal. Interesting to see how many others from Handtec (or other retailers for that matter) have handsets with non EU/UK codes.
i got the same from handtec (ordered from australia):
PDA:KE2 / PHONE:KDJ / CSC:KE2 (TPH)

can i change these in order to be able to grab the latest firmware?

[Q] CSC - What is CSC and which firmware suits my device?

Hi Guys
Apologies in advance if this is a duplication of the existing thread. I hope this information will be useful for newbies. Can somebody please explain in details:
1. What CSC is? What kind of information is stored in those files? Here I would appreciate an extended answer or a link to the detailed explanation.
2. How to find out the list of changes in a specific CSC version and difference with compared to previous version I have installed?
3. How to read CSC version and what those letter mean?
I will give you an example:
There are 3 different I9100XWKE7 stock firmwares on samsfirmware. All are called the same and the only difference is in CSC part:
MULTI - CSC - XEUKD1
MULTI - CSC - CPWKD1
MULTI - CSC - ITVKE5
4. How do I find out what the difference is and what those letters/digits at the end mean to determine which CSC version suits me best?
I would appreciate the answer to all 3 questions above and a recommendation on 4 to determine which one suits best my phone. I am based in the UK and am on O2 if CSC has something to do with the region and cellular network.
Thanks
Stas
CSC = country specific code ties phone to network and country .
There is no detailed explanation CSC contains a number of files as above text/XML
Versions listed on www.samfirmware.com might also be listed here with a search .
XEUKD1 = Europe
CPWKD1 = Carphone warehouse
ITVKE5 = Italy
. How do I find out what the difference is and what those letters/digits at the end mean to determine which CSC version suits me best?
samfirmware have the list
O2 you use the O2 CSC thaqt came with the phone or XEU .

thanks mate. Another quick question... Do you know how to check the existing CSC version? *#1234# works well for me on KDD while it does not work on my friend's device. He's on KE1.
noobie alarm ,
what is the multi csc for ? when i change mine to another csc via *#272#....... Kies tells me that my firmware version can't be updated, why is that?
i would be grateful for ur answer ;-)

Not a correct CSC code -

Hi,
I live in belgium but i have bought a galaxy S2 from a store with a CSC code that is not for my country ,
Its the code LUX, and i am in belgium, the codes for belgium are : BAE,BSE,PRO,XEB
is this normal and what kind of problems can occur?
Thanx
You can check/change the CSC with: *#272*{IMEI}#
where the {IMEI} value represents the 15 digits of your IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity).
Personally, I use KOR and my phone works perfect.
change csc dont work
Hey,
I used the code yesterday, and says only LUX.
Flash a CSC if you have to from.
Stock Roms .and csc

I just wanna now what problems i can have with this wrong csc code,
Yes i know i can flash it. But if i buy somthing from a store in my country.
It needs to be with the correct code otherwise the store needs to give me a correct phone.
So the first problem i think i have i need to wait to luxembourg for the update, not the belgium update?
Any other problems that can occur?

From few to none .

You will have to take it up with the seller but one presumes they would sell the correct model .
So the first problem i think i have i need to wait to luxembourg for the update, not the belgium update?
CSC will have nothing to do with update that comes from the product code .
CSC contains a number of text files that have the varying network details and configurations .CSC is not required for phone to work if network details are entered manually .

[Q] Changing SCS questions.

Hi,
I have 2 Galaxy S2's here, one with SCS code XEN (Netherlands) and one with SEB(Baltic).
I want them both at a europe SCS code so I get the same updates on both devices.
If I check it via *#272*IMEI# I can choose on the SEB device to different countries (for example spain or france).
I do want to get the same updates on both devices so I have to change the SEB device to a europe country.
If I change the SCS code to spain (for example) would I get the OTA's which are in spain?
And if I change it, would my device be wiped?
I'm still at stock firmware (4.0.3) but would like to update to 4.0.4 just as the other device.
Thanks in advance.
