Personally, I use Swiftkey with Flow (Swiftkey's version of Swype) enabled. I prefer it over the stock keyboard and haven't seen any issues with it yet. I'd say it's a personal preference thing.
That's what I've been using on my tablet. I purchased both versions. It was good on the S3 so I think I'll set it up on my S4.

Tried the swiftkey trial and immediately purchased it. It's so much better than the stock Samsung keyboard for me.

I had actually purchased this keyboard for a Dell Streak 7 I owned. I sold the Streak and had forgotten about this great keyboard until I was going through my email's and ran across the link / activation from where I had purchased it.
Anyway long story short, the version is now up to 4.5, it's skinnable and has many free skins to choose from. Also hand writing recognition like Samsung's keyboard. You can also set your own landscape / portrait layouts as well.
There is a 15 day free trial to see if it suits you, just thought I might recommend this, my old activation key worked with the newest version, if any of you guys have used it on previous devices your license will transfer fine.
Try it out and leave your comments here.
You like it better than swype?

Nope!

I do but then again that's just me, if you look at the memory footprint it uses less than swype, has as many features and seems faster, but then again, my opinions are my own, just sharing knowledge I find.

I like the spacebar being offset to the right so i dont type.and.hit.the.period.button.all.the.time.
I've tried this as well as SwiftKey as alternatives to Swype. So far, Swype is still my #1.

+1 Swype is still best. Swift is a good alternative to a stock keyboard, but not close to Swype in my opinion.

Used this for a while on my Captivate. It was slow compared to Swype so I haven't touched it again.

I to have grown fond of Swype, so fast and fluid.
Hi,
How is the overall typing on the Galaxy SIII? It it smooth, spaced, or bulky? Is the keyboard different from the galaxy S II?
Looking to buy a Galaxy S III and a spaced keyboard (similar to the G SII) is a must for me.
Thanks

Agreed. I swore by the ice cream sandwich keyboard but thought I'd try out swiftkey and I think my typing speed has improved a lot with it!

Im using the swype beta for ics
i am also using swype beta but just in case, the stock sammy keyboard also comes with a swype feature.
I hate all Android keyboards except the HTC one which for ICS is tied to sense frameworks. Teh Stock vanilla ones I cannot get along with. Same with the Sammy one.
I've tested all the major 3rd party keyboards and only one comes close to HTC for me which is Smart Keyboard. I couldnt get along with any others. Swift Key was alright but the calibration on Smart works great for me.
Hey ppl. I just bought my Sprint Galaxy S III. I've searched but found no answer. I was wondering why the US version (or at-least the Sprint version) of the Galaxy S III does not have the adjustable screen color profile option and the international Galaxy S III does? I've read that it is on the international version but why not ours. This option was also on the Galaxy S II. I loved this feature because I liked my screen as vibrant as possible, yeah I know the colors aren't realistic but I don't care. Any body have an idea about this? I know I'm not the only one who noticed.
The US versions don't have this option.
I wish I could make my screen as vibrant as possible too.

That sucks ass....why would they remove this option? I can't think of 1 possible reason why it would hurt to leave it..
They removed it I believe because we have a different cpu/gpu so it won't work

There seems to be a gof2 available on Sammy apps for bout 600 INR... It says specially optimised for the Samsung galaxy s 3. Is this true? I thought that game was a tegra exclusive?

I just checked and it seems you are right.
I have not and will not buy it, that is a ridiculous price I'm my opinion, but if someone with a fat wallet wants to, it would be nice to see a comparison between this version and the Thd one

My sister currently owns the S4 zoom and would like to use the Galaxy Gear with it but it is still running Android 4.2.2. I'm looking to root the Zoom to Android 4.3, preferably a slim rom, so that it can be compatible with the Galaxy Gear since Samsung has not released an official update or estimated time frame either. I've been researching how to root the Zoom as well as what roms are currently available and apparently support for the Zoom is very little.
Has anyone tried a rom that allows compatibility with the Zoom yet?
the s4 zoom is a phone with no market or future.
there are no developers to work on that phone.
I think it's a shame that the zoom has no future as it's a great device, albeit quite niche. Here's hoping that Samsung do eventually update to 4.3 so it will be compatible with the gear.

I agree it is quite a shame, I have the S4 and use the Gear and my sister really wants to use the Gear with her Zoom. I think the Zoom is a awesome device. It's designed for a very niche market and it seems like that market is being neglected. Samsung did mention when 4.3 was released that it would be coming to many of the Galaxy devices and the Zoom was included in that list, but there's no info on when to expect it.
With kitkat confirmed for the Zoom C105 does that mean Galaxy Gear will now work with the Zoom S4?
I see the latest firmware 4.2.2 has gear manager app on the system. Does this not work then?

What instructions did you follow? The ones from the Gear itself on the startup screen?
Did you connect via NFC and the phone automatically went to the Samsung app store to download Gear Manager??
Just followed the instructions in the gear booklet. Turn on nfc and blue tooth on your phone. Touch the gear cradle to the back of the phone and just followed the on screen instructions.
Just read the the booklet and all will be fine

Thanks for replying, I saw your post in the other thread too.
This sounds good, can't wait to get hold of the S4 zoom now... I just hope that I like the shape and feel of it!
If your into photography you'll love it. I had a note1 which seems massive compared now. But got used to the Zoom s4 very quickly. And with the gear, you don't have to keep pulling your phone out of your pocket to see what the alert was.

Great tip I was waiting patiently for 4.4 as I had no idea it would work on 4.2.2. Thanks a lot!
Doesn't seem to be much reason to upgrade the s4 zoom to the k zoom now the gear works with it.
