Just being nitpicky here, but your not technically "running" moonshine soff. Its just a method to gain soff, not something that runs on a phone that could contribute to benchmark scores outside of allowing you to overclock and run a custom kernel.

Well, if we are going to be 'nitpicky,' I never mentioned that moonshine contributed to the benchmark score although it did make everything else possible (such as Sense 5 and a custom ROM) - so I thought it 'deserves' a mention.
Further, still going with 'nitpicky,' the correct way to say is you're not technically.. not as you said "your not technically 'running'...".
Anyway, I just recently tried the Beastmode ROM and have gotten a solid 19K.

I attached my latest score, 19.2k.
I was wondering about voltages, I'm running Nos M7 with BM (Nos Repack). I don't see a way to change the voltages, do I need a different app for that? I have SetCPU Pro and Antutu Overclock Pro. In neither of them can I change voltages. I also noticed if I do anything higher than 1672Mhz, it freezes and shuts off. I'm sure with the changes to the voltages, I'd be able to get a higher clock. I'm just not sure where I can change that..?

I use system tuner pro for voltage control. I've never used set cpu pro or the antutu one. Maybe post something in the kernel thread for BM cuz i'm not sure why u wouldn't be able to set ur voltage with SetCPU. Maybe has to do with it being a Nos Repack (not really sure what that means)?

Most all of these variances are thermal/throttling related. Play around with your thermal settings if you know how and really care about these silly scores. I can hit 22k on stock kernel repeatedly after making some thermal tweaks.

How do I change the default voltage settings on extreme? Right now, my phone won't run 1.4ghz on 1175. I was hoping to increase that to 1180 or above so that it can be stable.
I ran the stress test on setcpu for like 1 hour and it was stable, but after I ran quadrant, it crashed and locked up my screen. I think I only need a little more voltage to make the setup stable.

All 1.4 kernels seem to be flaky for me. The latest two that you uploaded on the 20th booted, but would reboot in a minute or two. Kinda reminded me of my first photon before I took it back. Sometomes it would randomly reboot and sometims it would sleep of death on me.

This is the output I got.
Its not that ones flaky, its that i didnt know we had two photon chips. The hynix is timed better but doesnt oc well without voltage. The other oc's without voltage but wasnt set right in source. The atrix uses elipia(whatever) and is properly set for lpddr2-667. The photon is lpddr2-600 with lower timing. Ive got to set both individually and hope both are timed right. Better memory oc will equal better cpu oc to a point. Thats one reason the atrix oc's a little better. But they have heat issues. Im hoping for at least 333 stable with 400-450 hardcore. If timing is off youll notice the phone slowing down. This is why i need it tested. But only the hynix is tweaked timing wise.

If you have the newest version of SetCPU, and you can prove that you have Faux's Kernel installed, I'll be impressed.
(Goto Settings>About>Software Information>More>Kernel Version
If the Kernel doesn't say "[email protected] #2|SMP PREEMPT..." it isn't faux's kernel installed. Easiest way to install it is to use one of the scripts here to do it in fastboot. I always just manually copy the modules manually, and flash it myself from fastboot, this way I KNOW it got flashed. (as mentioned, 1728mhz is the max on Faux's kernel.)
go to your settings and make sure that your kernel says "paul" in it somewhere. You probably did not flash the kernel correctly and need to flash it again. Sometimes you actually need to flash the kernel twice.
Thanks for the help guys, reflashed kernel and it works now. Unfortunately only up to 1.72 but that's good enough. Any way to get it higher though?

Sure, download the kernel source from Faux, change voltage scaling and multipliers, and compile it, and you might be able to hit 1.8, these chips can hit 1.9ghz but with more overvolting than most would be comfortable with.

Hi All,
There are modifications for the thermald.conf, which controls your CPU and GPU after a certain temperature.
I've modified the file to fit different profiles that'll work for people. So without further ado, here are the profiles.
Remember to backup before flashing, and not responsible for bricks and blah and blah. However, if something goes wrong, you're more the welcome to message me for help.
Stock
This is the stock file with no change.
Stock Therma
Optimized Stock
This is a slightly optimized stock that deals with the overheating and throttles the CPU and GPU properly.
Optimized Stock
Gaming
This prioritizes the GPU for gaming over any other feature
Gaming Therma
Gaming (Plus Battery Saver)
This prioritizes gaming; however, also throttles your CPU to help save battery.
Gaming Therma + Battery Saver
Better CPU
This is probably the best battery saver; however, it drastically throttles the GPU.
Better CPU
Full Power
Ignores any throttling rules, but battery drain will happen. And phone will overheat quicker. However, you'll experience the fastest speeds.
Full Power
Best Battery and Overheating
This sacrifices performance to optimize battery and subdue the heating issues.
Best Battery
will wait for braver souls then myself before trying. But awesome work man! Does this work on both ICS and JB?

Yeh they should go to system/etc if u are correct about them Goin to app instead then they won't do anything. I think he just took the zip from someone and tossed the files in there. Also if you are running JB don't flash this the file name is wrong it has to be
thermald-8064.conf so you guys should wait for him to fix it and personally I would wait on flashing this unless he tested it first.

not even close, all it does it either slows/lowers down or doesnt do anything to CPU/GPU or screen brightness depending on the temperature of CPU/GPU. Basically its system underclock depending on temperature.
This shouldn't really be under Dev... It is something that has been known about for quite a while and even has a tutorial posted under the App section for a while now. It was never released like this because it can very well allow the phone to fry itself.
Disclaimer (I have been using an edited thermald with all governors disabled for a couple months no with no issues.)

I think there's a slight misconception on folder structure. I could have named it whatever, but the updater script pushes it to the correct folder.
I have tested, and it works wonderfully. However, the risks are always present if you choose to set the temp tires higher or remove the throttling.
