I flashed as per thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2300717&page=1
my contact is saved as :+65 xxxx xxxx,
but when phone comes in, it will be without the +65... then the contact name will not be showed in the incoming call
Previously, i called idd calls with adding +21, it will still recognize as the same contact.
The "dialer" page will have this issue... and also during incoming calls... recent call page is ok, it recognize the contact names..
please help... i tried to find for help but nothing works...
i tried to add "ro.phone.min_match=7" into build.prop but no luck...
i`m on china ICS and have this same problem, maybe try copy Phone.apk from EU JB ? Make backup before you do anything

I would try to ensure, that your phone has the full localization set for your region.
There are some applications which are intended to help you with it, even if the rom you are currently using does not offer this settings by default:

Hi All
Need help ! Any program that can allow to view chinese character as well as input chinese character? Have tried CE Star but it always hang my SMS screen (will get blank white screen). Wanna try Monster but no crack. Can anyone please help??

Ce-star has no problem. You are using a cracked version so it GIVES you problem.

Ya! that's right! Stark Wong is the man! I've tried Youzii's EVOen with "IMonly", Gullum's V7, Crystal V1 and Claudyfa's Transformer V1 with both ime-mingliu and ime-msjh aleady. The result is one step from perfect --the automatic word-suggestoin fails after installing the cabs above. Other than that, everything works like a charm!

It only support Chinese Traditional ,Does any .cab support Chinese Simplified.

View simplified Chinese by setting Chinese China on the page of Local Settings ('m not sure whether the needed nls has been changed in your device^^)

I did not use the crack version. Mine was a registered version. but some how it cant load the sms page.

Have you tried the latest CE-Star?
I only encountered some errors when using older version.
BTW, don't just verify v2.8r3 - it often shows "v2.8r3" but has different build I think.
Also, both Simplified / Traditional Chinese I used.
You're eligible to email to Mobem support and ask for the latest one.

Yes, it always happened - That means you actually using different version of CE-Star.
Don't worry about the regestration - I always ask Mobem to send the valid serial no when I encountered kinda problem.
You've bought their product and you're eligible to do this.

I'm from Brazil and i like to use customized ROMs from the DEVs here (Thanks to the devs of LeoMar Revolution ROM, Cognition and VillainROM). But almost all of them are from Europe region.
I don't mind using a ROM in English, but i would like to use some APPs from Market that i know to have my language (PT-BR), but i can't change it. Usually the APP detect my region from the phone configuration (CSC) and don't let me change it.
There's any kind of APP or script that would let me "hack" my location information and let those apps identify Brazil as my location?

there's an app which allows you to choose the language for each app:

I'm trying to get a fix on this..
I cant open market..
everytime I open.. it FC..
I've tried a few solution available here in xda..
eg: Manage App --> Market --> Uninstall Update..
But still the same.. Still got same error..
And market always trying to update to the latest market..
Owh.. I'm using CM7 latest nightly(209~211) and gapps-gb-20110613-signed..

change your language to English (United states) and it should work. at least it did for me
Currently I've revert back to old backup..
Before this mine was setup as English(UK)..
Later I will try it and confirmed back..
Thanks, that fixed my market problems as well, only I set mine to English (Canada) and that works fine as well. It seems that he nightly build had some strange language chosen something like "mr (United States)" which isn't available in the language settings after you change it.

I have purchased china made phone which is similar to samsung note. I has a baidu input and which shows everything in chinese. I changed the language from the language and input under settings but still it wont change app language from english to chinese. I also tried to download and install google play store apk but its not working. It asks me to use google account but when I press yes to do so, it closes the app. Please let me know if anyone has any idea what to do. Thanks a lot.

I dont know how to root this particular phone.

You have to set the time, date, and time zone to get google play to work on this phone. I just got one and that made it work. Still not sure how to remove the chinese from it, though.
BTW: It's already rooted and unlocked. Mine is an S822D Baidu Hot Pepper, AKA MTK6588, AKA LA-I Dual Core (even though it has quad core)
I have a Dakele 3, and can not install anything from Google . Also the ROM seems Chinese, even after updating from needrom.com
I want it all to change to English and be allowed to use not China as home location.
Can anybody help? ( I have no experience at all! )

Got now all the google stuff running, with installing the Dakele ROM over the posted software. And then I installed the google pack from the app section as well. Also over that rooting software. Works well! :good:
How do you like the phone so far? How are the 3G/4G networks? Are they working? Also, what country are you using it on? I would be happy if you could post some photos.

So far so good. It is fast and nice looking. Unfortunately I can not test 3g or 4g because Canadas network bands are not supported by the phone.

Thanks for your reply about the ROM; you mentioned it is available on the Dakele Forum. Unfortunately the forum itself is in Chinese. Is there an official English forum?
I managed with help of the vendor to install a ROM from 2009 form needrom.com, and now most of the phone is English. I still have some chinese icons in the dialer.
Not disturbing, but If there is a way to make this all English, please let me know. If there is a recent complete Englis ROM , I'd appreciate info or a link.
One thing that IS irritating: if I just click on a number of my dial history when I want to call that number, the country code +86 is added as a prefix. Does anyone know how to remove this setting?
