Hello,
A while back, as I was using my HTC One X+ as navigationsystem in my car, it suddenly stopped charging via the car lighter jacket (and it hasn't since). My friend's HTC still charged fine. When home, luckily, it charged properly via the AC adapter.
However, after a while, and from one moment on to an other, it wouldn't charge through my AC adapter either. I googled my symptoms and diagnosed it as a possible problem with my SIM card. I turned the phone off, removed the SIM card, held the power and volume up and down button. Three white lights behind my screen began to flicker a few times, and the red touch buttons lighted up. After about 10 seconds, it booted to recovery. I turned the phone off again using the on-screen menu, and plugged my phone into the wall socket. It charged again (amber light went on). The next day I inserted my SIM card again and booted my phone. The battery was fully charged. Not ideal, but as it all happened 1 day before I went on holidays, it would have to do.
This was the ritual I performed every evening before going to bed. After a few times, that workaround became erratic as well; I had to un- and replug the micro-USB several times before the amber light went on. A few nights ago was the first night I didn't manage to charge my phone at all this way; the amber light wouldn't turn on (and I was OCD-style persistent, so imagine my frustration).
I tried connecting my phone to my laptop, which worked. My laptop found my phone and the amber light went on. But this was only temporary as well. Since this morning, my phone won't connect to my laptop either. Laptop doesn't detect anything (at all), and my phone won't charge.
I should note two things: I used to have problems with my SIM card. Sometimes my SIM card would suddenly lock. Usually when I enter my PIN it works again, sometimes it said that my PIN was incorrect (even though I am 100% sure that it wasn't). It would tell me my SIM card was blocked and that I had to enter my PUK code. If I rebooted my phone, I could unlock my SIM card again as normal. This problem hasn't occurred anymore since recently though.
And the other thing: I have my old HTC Desire with me, just in case. And every time I try to charge my One X+, I first connected my Desire to the same cable/wall mount/laptop USB port to rule out any problems with my cables etc. I'm pretty sure it's hardware related, as my One X+ won't even charge 9 out of 10 times when turned off. I run stock software without root.
I will take it back to the store when I come back from holidays. Meanwhile, is there any way I can keep using my phone for the time being?
TL;DR:
My HTC One X+ won't charge 9 out of 10 times via the AC adapter, nor via laptop/pc. Help please?

Ok here is my problem, only started recently, was rooted and romed but when I connected the charger it was going on charge and off charge, even without moving the cable, so I thought there was a problem, tried it with a new/different cable and it was fine for a while, tried it on the computer and it worked great, but at that point I decided to go back to total stock in case I need to send it back, while trying to use ODIN it was on and off every few seconds (so the problem came back even on the computer), the phone was sat completely still, anyway I finally used used triangle away, and after many disconnections while flashing back to stock through odin, my phone seemed fined for a few days at least.
Now last night I put on to charge as usual, and I woke up this morning with my battery on 48% and my screen lit up, it had been lit up all night, (and no the option to keep the screen awake is not enabled) so my phone didn't charge and the screen was on, now I tried this on a car charger and another computer and it wont put the screen to sleep until I press the sleep button also its on/ff charge all the time
Any Ideas other than a loose Micro usb female connection in the phone?
Yep, I'm having another round of issues on my One.
Just some information:
Running stock ROM, bootloader locked (not "relocked"), S/N HT346(...), Quick boot OFF, previously sent in for repair.
I believe this has been brought up before, but here I go:
I pulled the phone off the charger this morning with a full charge. However, Car mode unexpectedly opened up. I found this odd, since I'm running a stock AT&T ROM using the Sense launcher, which means Car mode is nowhere to be found. The device also reported using an "incorrect charger" or some other thing. I use the charger that came in the box with my phone. I assumed it was a mistake.
However, in my infinite wisdom, I decided to brush it off and went on with my day.
Usage patterns normal, maybe with a bit more GPS and camera use than usual, but more or less a normal day.
Come back home, plug it in. Phone will not charge. I do not believe it's a hardware issue. Why?
Troubleshooting time:
Plugged into another outlet, will not charge.
Switched wall warts. Will not charge (I have a few from older HTC phones and a few from other Android devices).
Switched USB cables. Will not charge (tried combo-ing with wall warts, same result).
Plugged into PC. Will not charge AND does not recognize USB connection (both ends). Tried with several different cables, no dice.
Rebooted, no dice. Did it again (and several times after that), no cigar.
Safe mode: Nope.
What works?
Connect via fastboot works (so "FASTBOOT USB" works)
It WILL charge when powered off.
Now, as the title states, I noticed the LED blinking when the phone is powered off and plugged in via AC or USB.
The orange LED will light up for ~6 seconds, dim down (to the level of brightness that would be considered "normal" for the phone) for ~6 seconds, then turn off. The process repeats after the LED turns off for about 5 seconds.
Any ideas on why this could have happened (including my own stupidity) and what I can do to solve this problem? I'm going to send it in to HTC if nothing gets it working again (and has it stay that way).

I have the same problem, and started the same way. Anyone found the solution?
Please help.
Thanks.
Hello everyone,
I have an HTC One m7 that's been working perfectly, yesterday i charged it in my car with a normal car charger, after 20 minutes i came back home & plugged it with the wall charger, so it just didn't charge, i tried to connect it with my Mac, still the phone didn't recognize any usb data cable has been connected, changed the charger & cable, same issue, so i turned off the phone, then it started charging in a weird way, a red led with a battery notification appeared, after around 3 seconds it goes off then a dull orange led with a percentage battery appears, then it just goes off with nothing on the screen, & again same thing each time every around 10 to 12 second. So i backed up all my data via WiFi data transfer app after i left it to charge as is overnight, & then i hard reset my HTC One, after it's been formatted, it didn't charge, but even worse, it stopped even charging when it's turned off.
Please help me with some advise
Thx in advance
Hello,
I have a really weird problem with my phone for several months now. I use Zenfone 5, and my warranty is probably void already, but I could not use it anyhow (it is in a different country). I tried contacting the official support, but they just said to send it in for a check up, which I could not at the time, and cannot now either.
The problem started when I plugged in my phone in my car using third party car charger. It worked with other phones with no problems, and the output should be OK. When I plugged it in, the light on the charger went off, and the phone turned itself off without any notification. I tried to power the phone on with no success. It just vibrated, and remained off. Later I disassembled the charger and found out that the safety fuse has melted.
I went to my house and plugged the phone in, and it turned on. But the problem was, and remained to this day, that the phone thinks it is charging even when it is not plugged in. The phone charges normally, and battery life is ok, the phone normally goes into deep sleep mode.
The phone won't power up without charger, and the USB OTG obviously doesn't work. But there are some curious things about this problem.
When I took my phone apart and disconnected the battery for 30 minutes (it is non-removable), after I connected it back, the phone turned itself on (without the charger), until I tried to charge it, then it went back to only powering on while on charger. The constant charging thing, nevertheless, remained all the time.
Sometimes when I plug in the cheap USB OTG converter, the phone stops charging notification. When I unplug it, it goes back to charging.
I have no clue what could be the problem, and which part (the usb board or the battery) could be faulty.
I also tried hard reset a few times, with no success.
Thank you in advance for your answers.
Bump? Anyone? Any clue?
Is there any way to change kernel so it doesn't register charging if there is no current flowing to the phone?
And which type of battery connector is this?

BUMP
This isn't the first time this has happened. It seems to always happen when I plug the phone in to be charged. Most of the time I can get it back on with a hard reset using the lock key and volume down key. This has happened once before where I had to plug it into a computer, I did it this time and still, nothing.
Last night I plugged it in, it still had about 40% of a charge, I know It could have lasted the night without charging so I know that even if it didn't charge, there'd still be enough juice to turn it on now. Anyway, after a few minutes on the charge, I went to check it and screen wouldn't turn on, the red charging LED was on indicating it was plugged in... I unplugged it and started to do the force reset to get it back on. LED went off the moment I unplugged it and since then it's been like a dead fish.
I've plugged it into my computer, hard reset with every combo I can think of. Took the sim card and SD cards out, tried to reset again. My computer makes its typical noise when things are plugged into it, so it see's that it's there but nothing is happening.
It could be a hardware issue maybe? I hardly ever drop the phone but maybe a piece of hardware finally gave up inside?
Personally. I think technology should work flawlessly. I hate tech and I'm about ready to take a hammer to this thing. Any other possible ideas?
