Since I flashed 4.2.2 wanamlite and I'm having freezing problems. The phone doesn't completely freeze but it just lags badly that it looks like a freeze. It can last for a whole minute.I understand that this is a leak and may have problems but I just want to know if anyone else experienced a similar thing on 4.2.2 and if going back to 4.1.2 fixed the problem as I'm worried it might be SDS related.

i am on 4.2.2 stock rooted, seems ok so far
Use omega rom. There is less lagging on the 4.2.2 rom. I flashed it & saw better improvements

I strongly believe that it's a RAM issue in my case too because those freezes usually happen when I'm multitasking or using multi window.I will try omega and see how things go.

Every time I install a custom ROM when I scroll down any list the screen will stutter and freeze for like 3 seconds and then start working and it repeats that process. It's weird because the actual ROM does not lag at all framerate wise. This has happened to every ROM I have installed. (CM9, Eryigit 2.3.7) Right now I'm using Entropys daily kernel on a rooted stock ROM with no stutter and I'm about to try AOKP milestone 6. Please help me with this. It just seems pointless to have all these new features with ahorrible stutter.
Sent from my YP-G70
I never had anything like this . Maybe your device has a defect? I've tried all the ICS Roms and never had any "stutter". But if your problem is fixed by using GB , i would say stick to it , cause ICS still has many bugs..
I've noticed that problem with Entropy's kernel. If you use the stock ROM with his kernel it'll surface eventually. Always got fixed when I went back to the stock kernel though.
Yes, I'm pretty sure its the kernel... it is absolutely annoying, wish Entropy do something about it. (Not happening soon)

Alright I just wanted to make sure it wasn't just me. Right now I'm using AOKP milestone 6 and its running pretty well. I only get that stutter once in a while. But yeah I hope entropy fixes it soon.

I was browsing the Forums and didn't find any answer related to my problem.
When i bought my Samsung Galaxy S2, there was no problem with overheating. After a half year of usage, it started with some overheating problems.
The overheating is located at the camera level. I'm not using any Wi-Fi or Mobile data either, so what could possibly be wrong?
Also, this overheating is draining a lot of battery. So help would be appreciated.
Which kernel you're using?
CM kernel

No, I recently flashed the SuperNexus rom for Samsung Galaxy S2. I don't have anything running.
This overheating thing happened a lot on the HTC Sense 4.0 rom as well.
I solved it!
This is kind of strange, but i flashed the Resurrection Remix Jelly Bean rom. By the looks of it, the overheating is gone,
Thanks for the help, I appreciate it.
I don't know if anyone else is experiencing the same but to me Jelly Bean on the S3 is terrible!
It's more like project stutter!
I am getting serious lag and if I use my phone for a couple of days without rebooting it's practically unusable.
Is the memory leak still present in JB?
I'm running stock XXDLJ4.
I went back to my S2 the other and was literally blown away!
I'm considering selling my S3 and going back to my S2 which for me is a lot nicer to use.
In my honest opinion Samsung made a huge stuff up only putting 1gb RAM in the S3, and they've admitted it by bringing out the i9305.
How the S3 is so popular I do not know.
Is anyone else experiencing serious performance and lag issues on JB?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
There already numerous post about this! All posts are answered by some who have the same problem , and many who dont. Do a factory reset & wipe. JB is much better for me.

I've done numerous factory resets and wipes and then it's all the same.

If a user does not read the existing threads then its the user not the phone .

I've read plenty of threads mate.
I've wiped my phone, re flashed ROMS etc.
Still the same old story. Still slow, laggy and generally unusable.
I fail to see how me reading threads on XDA changes a ROM on my phone? It doesn't.
The ROM is still the same laggy, slow ROM it always was no matter how much reading I do.
So your comment really was pointless dude.

What ROM are you using?
I've tried various JB ROMs on my S3 (both TW-based and CM-based) and had no problems with lag or stutter.

Hi mate,
I'm using the stock XXDLJ4 JB ROM.
The lag really is terrible, it was bearable, just!! But last night it really slowed down.
For example I was just trying to open my SMS and waited about 3 seconds for that to open (which is normal for me) then clicked on an SMS thread (another 2 seconds) clicked reply and waited about another 4 seconds for the keyboard to open and then every letter I typed took 1-2 seconds to appear.
Only a reboot fixed it.
I have tried all sorts of things I can think of. Even formatted cache, dalvik, system, data and internal storage to start from scratch with a fresh, new downloaded ROM and the same thing.
I'm going to flash ICS tonight and see if it helps.
I've had the same issues after going to jelly bean and trying all kind of stuff.. my wife has the s2 skyrocket, some days other blows my i9300 away..
I haven't tried rolling back to ICS, I really dig the JB features.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
I love the features of JB but not the performance.
It's weird that an S2 can out perform an S3 though, that really shouldn't happen and I can't figure out why it does.
Going back to my S2 was awesome! It flies.
I just find it odd that some people don't experience any lag and say JB on there device is perfect. Surely all S3s should be the same.......

never had a problems with jb.. usually a wipe would fix it. also possible that media scanner is using all your cpu power thus lagging phone.

Hi all, I'm not sure whether this is the right place to deliver my problem on my Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100.
My S2 is freezing frequently and I am having difficulty to trace down what is the actual cause.
My current running ROM is CM10 official nightlies.
I try to track down the obsessive running processes using WatchDog.
And, it turn out to be android.media.processing is running at high CPU (>50%) always.
So, I tried to disable the media scanner using Rescan Media. However, the freezing problem is still occured.
The freezing problem could be happened at any time(internet browse surfing, incoming call, sending a message, plugging charger into phone) and even during idling!
I am really out of idea, so I would like to seek any help from all of you. Thanks in advance.
Happened to me despite whatever kernel i tried on JB. Tried stock cm, stock aokp(the same aa stock cm), changmin's, dorimanx and siyah.
I didnt even undervolt plus i even tried to increase thw stock voltage values given in case JB requires more lower. But i cant get past 2days of usage without any freeze issues.
Im a heavy user of this phone and i charge more than 3x daily or just leave it charge or use while charge.
Will be testing leaked 4.1.2 today to see if it still persists. If it still does, im thinking of a worn out mobo or processor might be the case. If its fine, maybe those AOSP isnt much stable for some processors/mobos.
Was suprised btw seeing not many complaints over the issue across s2 section. Hardwarw issue or aosp stuffs?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Currently still trying to debug for the issue.
The phone works fine so far after I re-flash the CM10 without flashing the Gapps.
Now just trying to run the phone with some daily running apps like (Gmail, Facebook, Whatsapp, Line) to see if the freezing problem occured again.
I was worrying it could be due to faulty hardware since I accidentally drop it twice before.
I had lots of freezes, but on JellyBam it's working smooth...
My S2 freeze again while I am surfing the net. Anyone has any solution to this?

Im testing Leaked JB now. Survived yesterday without freezes. Imma report on today and tomorrow. If it continues to success full day withour freezes, im guess my phone cant handle aospJB stuffs

Absolutely no freezes after two days running Sammy JB Leak. Imma give it one more day till i go back to AOSPJB.
Notw that the uptime pic attached dosent show two days since i had to manually reboot the device after having some 'insufficient storage' errors n the reboot solved the issue. That is why it isnt showing an uptime of full two days

Well, I am now to change to AOKP, specifically RevoltJB.
However, I get stucked at the bootscreen.
I do exactly what had been told in the thread in order to flash the ROM, but still ended up in the boot loop.
I tried to flash with the recommended options but nothing change better.
Now I am trying to download another clean zip file to make sure the file is not void. :silly:

Try AoKP official or Rootbox Release /Nightlies. Plain good and reliable. Im avoiding those non-controlled environment, super experimental and not much tested commits done in those other ROMs. Not to say that they arent good, its just that the devs trackrecord and status is a bonus imho.

Try another rom
If you guys got stuck in either CM10 or AOKP (I'm also stuck), try another rom.
I'm currently using ParaniodAndroid 4.1.2 jelly bean, and flashed a Siyah v5.0.1 kernel, which are cool.
I never get freezing problems ever after.

Paranoid are based off CM10 while AOKP and RootBox aokpJB are using GalaxyS2 specific stuffs from CM10 too. Most of our AOSPJB stuffs are similar to one another since hacksung are the pioneer who ported and built the base and improved over time with devs submitting patches to em.
But an issue caused by specific apps or framework is a diff case since those arent drivers/modules related and those are rom specific. Its hard to determine the root of the cause anyway -_-

So after few days using the official Sammy JB version, my phone did not freeze at all
Just the stock ROM is still so laggy as always. :crying:
Definitely going to wait for the CM team to come out with a stable CM10 and flash again.

Hi guys, I wanted to ask, if you guys are feeling the 4.2.2 leak more laggy than the usual 4.1.2...
I own a S4 now, and gave my dad my old S3 ( MC2 sotmax, with Jkay)... he was complaining the phone was very laggy (for a 65 years old person, complaining that it was laggy.... but when I came to see, it was terribly laggy)
So I tried the new 4.2.2 fw, but things just got worse.... went back to to Ultima rom, v13...
It got better, but still laggy...
I know, I can't compare with the S4, but I remember that when I used to own the S3, it wasn't like that... any hints guys?
Thanks

Hi pride,
I am currently on Leak 4.2.2 and no lags, I just have some slow downs sometimes, else no problems.
Try a full wipe before reinstalling a new ROM.
Kr,
John
In what way is a slow down different to a lag?
