Hi guys, I wanted to ask, if you guys are feeling the 4.2.2 leak more laggy than the usual 4.1.2...
I own a S4 now, and gave my dad my old S3 ( MC2 sotmax, with Jkay)... he was complaining the phone was very laggy (for a 65 years old person, complaining that it was laggy.... but when I came to see, it was terribly laggy)
So I tried the new 4.2.2 fw, but things just got worse.... went back to to Ultima rom, v13...
It got better, but still laggy...
I know, I can't compare with the S4, but I remember that when I used to own the S3, it wasn't like that... any hints guys?
Thanks

I'm currently using 4.2.2 Pardus rom xv. Fast enough and stable. Try using it and don't forget to install crossbreader in ota.

But people was reporting heating issues with crossbreeder right?

And I think 4.2.2 is just a leak.... not fast enough like 4.1.2

Hi pride,
I am currently on Leak 4.2.2 and no lags, I just have some slow downs sometimes, else no problems.
Try a full wipe before reinstalling a new ROM.
Kr,
John
In what way is a slow down different to a lag?

Were you running custom roms before the cm9 build? Also, are you running a custom ROM on your note?
Because if you were running custom on your sgs2, and stock on note, the sgs2 will beat it everyday.

Maybe a little but the HD screen with the s3 processor and the 220 gpu it can't handle the screen you will always see a little lag!!

Saurom_xla2_rc4a and u will need to get cwm update and thats it my fone has beeen goin so fast love it now
If it weren't for the custom ROMs I would have taken this phone back. I came from a skyrocket and this phone is much slower. Since I OC'd and installed Saurom it has been much better.

Guys i have had no issues with video recording on my galaxy s2, my att note, or even my captivate, but today when i was trying to record a short video of my daughter dancing around the house the video was getting very choppy. Is this a known issue and if so is there a fix for it. I've read through the forums for a bit but didn't see anything pertaining to my issue directly. Sorry if there is a thread on this issue already.
OK your sig says you have a note on at&t so I need to ask if your galaxy SIII is the north American model or the international model.
Edit: nvm I just saw that you edited it and it is in fact the international model.
I never experienced choppy video recording personally, do you have custom rom/kernel?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Sorry i just updated my signature. International Gti 9300
Oh and i'm running the criskelo rom with siyah kernel oc'd to 1600mhz.
Have you tried a different rom?
I used wanamlite with siyah and with Franco and never had any problems with video.
Using CM9 now with siyah and no problems here either.
I'm oc'd to 1600mhz also.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
I dont think i ever tried using the video camera when i was stock, stock rooted, or even stock rooted just running the siyah kernel. Never noticed this. Only reason i put a rom on it is because i cant leave well enough alone. Modding. Is definitely addictive for sure.
Hmmm. I'll look into those. I really didn't plan on getting to big into romming this one because the stock ics with siyah was pretty nice. But now since i've started i guess i cant look back now. Lolol
Btw: i was trying to download the ics4.04 zip for my note while i was recording. Trying to sell it and i'll get more money for it with the update. Do you think that could have caused this? Just wondering.
That's why we're called crackflashers!
Give another rom a go and see how it works out for you, if it doesn't work then we'll go from there.

Hey
I have a stock Galaxy S3 and am liking it very much (except a few bugs that annoy me). I wasn't sure if it would be worth rooting to get Jelly Bean? I have rooted most of my phones before since the HTC Hero, however I have found that eventually it has ended with me having an unstable, buggy UI, even with the most 'bug-free' ROMs. It's probably something that I've been doing wrong, but I'm still unsure about the risk. It's a shame because I love changing ROMs, and getting different experiences on my phone, but don't want to make things worse.
So do you think its worth me staying on the stock ROM is best, or should I root? If so, anyone recommend a tutorial or give me any tips?
Thanks!
Sammy roms are fairly buggy. Cm all the way. IMO cm10 is the best phone experience I've ever had. Ooooh the butter is gooood

Yeah I noticed that, it was very strange coming from a Sense ROM. Is Jelly Bean even that different to ICS?
If your not exactly sure what your doing search for s3 toolkit
If u know a little bit already then cfroot via Odin is the best option.

I don't know if anyone else is experiencing the same but to me Jelly Bean on the S3 is terrible!
It's more like project stutter!
I am getting serious lag and if I use my phone for a couple of days without rebooting it's practically unusable.
Is the memory leak still present in JB?
I'm running stock XXDLJ4.
I went back to my S2 the other and was literally blown away!
I'm considering selling my S3 and going back to my S2 which for me is a lot nicer to use.
In my honest opinion Samsung made a huge stuff up only putting 1gb RAM in the S3, and they've admitted it by bringing out the i9305.
How the S3 is so popular I do not know.
Is anyone else experiencing serious performance and lag issues on JB?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
There already numerous post about this! All posts are answered by some who have the same problem , and many who dont. Do a factory reset & wipe. JB is much better for me.

jje
I've read plenty of threads mate.
I've wiped my phone, re flashed ROMS etc.
Still the same old story. Still slow, laggy and generally unusable.
I fail to see how me reading threads on XDA changes a ROM on my phone? It doesn't.
The ROM is still the same laggy, slow ROM it always was no matter how much reading I do.
So your comment really was pointless dude.

What ROM are you using?
I've tried various JB ROMs on my S3 (both TW-based and CM-based) and had no problems with lag or stutter.

Hi mate,
I'm using the stock XXDLJ4 JB ROM.
The lag really is terrible, it was bearable, just!! But last night it really slowed down.
For example I was just trying to open my SMS and waited about 3 seconds for that to open (which is normal for me) then clicked on an SMS thread (another 2 seconds) clicked reply and waited about another 4 seconds for the keyboard to open and then every letter I typed took 1-2 seconds to appear.
Only a reboot fixed it.
I have tried all sorts of things I can think of. Even formatted cache, dalvik, system, data and internal storage to start from scratch with a fresh, new downloaded ROM and the same thing.
I'm going to flash ICS tonight and see if it helps.
I've had the same issues after going to jelly bean and trying all kind of stuff.. my wife has the s2 skyrocket, some days other blows my i9300 away..
I haven't tried rolling back to ICS, I really dig the JB features.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
I love the features of JB but not the performance.
It's weird that an S2 can out perform an S3 though, that really shouldn't happen and I can't figure out why it does.
Going back to my S2 was awesome! It flies.
I just find it odd that some people don't experience any lag and say JB on there device is perfect. Surely all S3s should be the same.......
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
never had a problems with jb.. usually a wipe would fix it. also possible that media scanner is using all your cpu power thus lagging phone.

Ever since it first booted, there's been terrible lag. Im planning on rooting and slapping on CM, but I'm just wondering. Is this lag normal? I mean even as I'm typing this message, the keyboard is lagging terribly.
And on a side note, is the cm nighties available in the development thread stable? Including the kernel?

Not real.
My P7510 is rooted but it hangs after I had booted it.
Maybe is the system problem, or some hack may cause the device to hang.

May i... You have to enable wallpaper quick render in your launcher settings to eleminate the lagg in cm
Settings > launcher > wallpaper quick render > enable.
Oc your tablet to 1400 Mhz in performance settings.
Performance settings are hidden, you can unhide them if you go to 'about tablet' settings and tap 7 times.. I think... On the build number,
But from my experience is that you don't need so much power so i stay on 1000-1200 Mhz unless i watch video's
The lagg should be pretty much over.

First thanks for your reply!
1. Yes, that's already been enabled by default.
2. I'm over clocked to 1.2. I guess I'll try OCing to 1.4.
The lag is not in the homscreen per se, it's more throughout the OS. Lockscreen, notifications, apps etc.

He said he's not running official cm but i do :d well... The galaxy tab is way older than the google nexus, remember that this was one of the first decent tablets on the market 2 and a half years back, comparing a nexus with a gtab is like comparing a mouse with an elephant i think the 'lagg' what you mean is the 'lagg' what everyone has, ofcourse the gtab is slower than a nexus, but the gtab is terrible on a stock ROM, since CM, the tab has never been so fast, it can't compete to a nexus, but it can with alot of new devices out there with cm or cm based ROMs out there. And it's not like the tab hangs every 5 seconds like in stock

I've experienced the same thing. Mine is rooted on CM 10.1 nightly from a few weeks back. Even when I was religiously updating on the nightlies it is still very laggy. 2-3 seconds for the soft keyboard to come on or go away, 2-3 seconds for apps to even think about loading, choppy transitions. It is extremely noticeable and frustrating.

I use adrenaline boost when my tab gets laggy. It drops the caches so you can get more ram when needed(very useful for gamers like me ). But in these few days of weird lag, nothing helps, even installing tweaks and mods.
