Try a diferent recovery.
make sure you have either of this cwm recoveries 5.0.5.4 ( think this was best for ics) or 6.0.4.3 (for jb or cm10)

I've installed cm10 but it keeps lopping at boot.... I've done everything following the tuts... but with no luck....

Heres a recomendation flash back to a stock rom via odin boot into etc check whether you have a sdcard if you have then perform all the wipes etc and follow the instructions to flash cm10 .
I got an error when trying to copy files from \sdcard\* (ICS partiton layout) to \sdcard\0\ (CM10 partition layout)
You can also try looking at /mnt/shell/emulate see if you data is there
Few questions:
Can you boot into recovery?
Upload does that mean when you are "uploading" a file from your pc to your tablet it gives you and error or do you mean "upload" for when you are in recovery and applying a zip it does not find the sdcard.

[Q] CM7 in tar format?

Hi, I tried installing CM7 via the CWM/zip method, which appeared to succeed by actually resulted in a boot loop. Found a couple of messages from people with the same problems but no solution.
So. Does anyone have one of the CM7 ROMs in tar image format?

You'll find it here:

This is the direct link to the uploading site, but it's not connecting now.

That's for CWM recovery, not CM7.
Also, you have heard about megaupload ... haven't you?

Sorry, I'm tired and read it wrong.
But it's worth trying to reflash Clockworkmod. Make sure it's the EXT4 and not the RFS version. I made that mistake before which got my CM7 stuck in a bootloop.
CM7 doesn't come in .tar format. It only comes in .zip format, which can be downloaded here:
http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommana...t.js&name=psyke83&deviceName=Samsung Galaxy 5
Don't forget the Google Apps Package as well:
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=Latest_Version/Google_Apps
And the link I gave was multiupload, not megaupload.
Heh, I am also tired! Thanks for the hint...

my personal suggestion is to use Odin to flash the CWM recovery (use the 0.5 or 0.7 version, NOT the v0.6 tar files): once booted in the recovery, do the 4 wipes (if you have the phone fully charged; if not don't do the Battery Stats Wipe); usually I also use to format the partitions, you'll find that in the Mounts menu.
Now, always from the Mounts menu, mount the sdcard as USB mass storage and copy here all the files you need to flash: usually a upgrade-****** package, an hotfix and gapps (full or minimal package that's your choice). Unmount from PC and then unmount fro phone.
Now flash normally by Install zip from sdcard and do as always: first the update-***** archive, than the hotfix and finally the gapps ones.
Now reboot and enjoy!
That's my personal how-to, which never makes me falling into a bootloop!

thank you for your time
Did you perform data and cache wipe before flashing CM7 files and gapps package?
The way to install is always the same, so provide me some details or I cannot tell you more than that..

[Q] Installing cm7

Posted in support thread and received no help so here we go
I have a rooted nook tablet with miui I've installed miui and cm9 with no trouble using cmv. But now when I try to install cm7 it says installation aborted what should i do? Or do i need to install it using a different method any help would be great thanks a lot
If this were my issue this is what I would do.
I would verify my md5 value is correct for my download (or re-download cm7 zip to make sure it is a good copy - download gapps for cm7 also).
Boot into cwm recovery and perform a wipe/factory reset.
Then I would install zip from sdcard - doing both cm7 and gapps at the same time.
I would then perform another wipe/factory reset just to make sure I got everything.
I would then boot system and hope that everything is correct.
I am assuming you are loading into emmc not sdcard method and it is a 16 Gb NT and not the 8 Gb.
Hope this helps.

[Q] Does my Omega installing plan need adjustment?

Hey guys,
I am completely new to this whole topic so I read several hours and finally came up with a plan for what to do to install omega when my Galaxy S3 i9300 (my first android phone) will arrive tomorrow.
If you spot any mistakes I would make (also in the files I plan on using), please correct me!
1. Upgrading to Jellybean with Kies
2. Installing CWM (File name is CF-SGS3-CWM-v5.5-v1.5 - It's a .tar) via Odin 3.0.4 in download mode- I think I know how to do that
3. Rebooting in Recovery mode and creating a Backup File with CWM - I think I know how to do that
4. Saving the Backup file from the clockworkmod\backup folder on my PC
5. Rebooting in recovery mode and wiping data, cache and dalvik cache - I think I know how to do that
5. Copying the .zip file of Omega to (a folder called root??) internal SD-Card folder of the Galaxy S3 (File name is I9300_Omega_v31_XXDLJ4_Jelly_Bean)
6. Rebooting in recovery mode again and selecting “install zip from SD card” to install the Omega zip
7. Customize like a boss
done
(optional)
8. Realize something doesn't work properly and spam the forums with QQ threads OR Realize I bricked my brand new phone and cry furiously
Thanks in advance for letting me know if my plan needs adjustment

NO NO not a folder called root . Just place on your sd card .
6. Rebooting in recovery mode again and selecting “install zip from SD card” to install the Omega zip

Fails to boot first time one it make take a while for first boot boot stuck recovery and factory reset .

Flash recovery
Do factory reset, than wipe dalvik.
Than flash Omega.
Finally reboot and enjoy
But I'm recommending InsertCoin, because it is easy theamble with better themes, very stable (still haves some problems, but reboot solves them), mostly no lags, good memory managing.

Hey,
thanks for your answer! I have to install jellybean first if I want to install a ROM for Jellybean, right? So I guess that's not explicitly in the instructions but it's still a requirement?? Or does Omega install Jellybean itself?
I am really not sure, but I think I have to install Jellybean first.

It worked! Thanks alot!
(For other beginners: I put the Omega zip file on an external sd card, not sure if it works with the internal one. Works without upgrading to Jellybean first.)

[Q] how to get out of bootloop on s 2

first time i install cm10.1 nightly on s2 i9100, there was no prob...then flashed pacman rom ..was a little glitchy and slow.
So moved on to paranoid android..this is where the prob started... it keeps on bootlooping :?
Right now flashed stock 4.1.2 via odin and rooted with siyah kernel s2 v6 0.5b ..works fine
but if i flash any custom ROM it bootloops ,even with the prior cm10.1 that i had..
checked xda , did a lot of work but still stuck at square one..{wiping this , wiping that}
only thing i can find fault with is in recovery when wiping data says
Format/sdcard/.android_secure ..fail
skip Format
Format completed
when trying to intsall from sdcard it says
E:/ cannot mount..
tried different cwm recovery .. all with the same findings..
so please help me.. its boring to be stuck with stock ROM..
i am a doctor ..i tried but couldnt follow running SDK and commands ..so please keep it simple
or if possible publish a video.. bcause iam not the only one with this predicament...during my research i found a lot android users with the same problems..
Thanks

Thank you..ammar but as i have already said my phone works but with the stock rom...i end up bootlooping only when iinstall custom ROM
n the solution given in that thread 1. is to flash a stock rom.. 2. flashing villain rom but the download links are not working..
i think it has do with fail to format .androidsecure thing but what do i know?
again thanx..
check this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1906362
also backup all ur internal memory data to a pc and then format your Internal memory from within the rom
You could try using a couple of wipe scripts by a guy called hawkerpaul....I think they're called 'romwipe' and 'kernelwipe'.......
Use the XDA search function....should be easy enough to find.
It may be that there are some 'leftovers' following the usual wipes (cache, dalvik and data) that are causing conflicts with your fresh installs.....
The above mentioned scripts perform a more in depth wipe....might help.....
Sent from my rooted, de bloated, stock JB powered S2 via PhilZ kernel and XDA developers app

i have tried that GS2ROM wipe and nuke scripts already, with no luck ... yes that runs bigger wipe but it still fail to format sdcard .andoidsecure
i think it has do with renaming of the sdcard{silly doubt when recovery states sdcard , it doesnt refer to extsd right?} from sdcard to sdcard0 while installing CM10.1,,
if i could safely erase that {.andoidsecure}, probably things will back to normal .. anyone know how to
oh iam not able to use install from sdcard option in recovery(formerly before flashing any ROM i was able to..i hav to install from "internal memory"
Again iam grabbin at random bcause i want to go bac to custom ROMs. .if any of sounds untechi ..let me remind u i am just , what do they call it.. a noob and i do apologise...

i can find folder .androidsecure in extsd card and that erasing that doesnt solve the problem.. there must be another copy
iam not able to find .androidsecure in sdcard {internal}..with neither ES explorer nor Root explorer..
i dont know if this helps but i tried to intall that int2ext mod once but it didnt take ..installation aborted in recovery..i cant really remember if this was before or after i started havin the bootloop problem...Most likely after ...when i was running stock rom
There those are all the cards ...someone please solve the puzzle...
hey i can install custom roms again
1.formatted extsd and usb storage{after making back up of course} in storage setting in ROM
2.in recovery : Mount emmc
Mount sdcard
wipe user data
Flash the custom ROM
and it didnt go into bootloop ...hurrah
Running CM10.1 on i9100...
thanks guys..
looking into dual boot with siyah...are cm10.1 and PA rom compatible? jumping the gun too soon..lol..

No ROM

Today I wanted to update my phone to the '' Probam kk 1.2.2 for the I9300 .. When I wanted to update it said that there was an error (status 7)
so it couldn't complete the installation.
Since I didn't have another ROM ready to install, I wanted to restore the previous one but it said I had no back up (Even tho I made one)
now I tried to mount my /Sdcard to my laptop (while in recovery mode) to upload a new ROM (that works) but he doesn't let me mount it, and I also tried to use an card reader for my external_SD but for some reason it won't read my external_SD ( Or the reader at all at 2 laptops)
so how can I restore my mobile to a ROM?
I tried:
Toolbox
Samsung Kies

first of all you are getting error because you don't have the latest CWM
so first flash CWM 6.0.4.4 and then flash the probam rom if it's still in ur device if not find a phone that supports SD card and put it in it then u can flash from ur Sd card simple
