Pixels coming and going Strangely?! - T-Mobile HTC One (M7)

There is some strange occurrences going on with my pixels and where I put my cursor.
I notice it with texts ,if it was a dead pixel it would remain dead not come and go and it would be the same spot .
I notice when I set my cursor anywhere in a text right around that area the pixels get distorted in a letter or word , then they come back .
Then it can happen anywhere else on the screen , and it's very very small area ...even just on a image or icon.
So is this a dedicated dead pixel in a specific area ,or issue with texting on my Rom..since it happens anywhere on the text display where I set my cursor ...possible glitch with maybe my Rom?

I'm not sure what program you are using to read the file, but I don't see anything like it with my Stock TMO ROM and either of two text editors. The cursor is in between the characters, and there is no video distortion.

say what , do you know what you just said even? Made absolutely no sense :what:

I posted two illustrations otherwise known as "pictures" showing missing pixels in each quoted word ... If you look at the words closely In the screen shot ,you can see what I am taking about, letters and words are missing outline and half chewed up.
On the other hand I have no clue as to what you are talking about with text editors and whatnot.

Yes, if you look at the pictures he uploaded, the cursor is corrupting the text below it.

I think the text editors comment was directed at my post. I'm using OfficeSuite Pro and DB Text Editor to edit my files. I don't know what program you are using to edit or create the file.
A poorly designed editor might cause this problem. Or maybe as you suggest, it is a ROM problem with the video driver.

This isnt about using programs or text editors , it's a directly related question to the qwirky issue within the android o.s on stock ota 1.29 Developed rom .
Nothing to do with video drivers or text editors or anything your taking about .. I think your confused my man!
Just looking for insight from others , who have seen this or maybe a dev might recognize this as a glitch within the rom.

Hello guys
I have a similar problem to..
Bought the zte v987 rooted with jelly bean a month ago .. working perfectly... few days ago it started ´playing with colorful pixels by itself¨..
I will be more clear about the problem:
- using Adobe PDF .... it shows me few colorful pixels...to make them dissaper I have to tap the screen once
- using QuickPic ...after opening the picture to view it fullscreen ...the same problem....the same way to make the pixels dissapear
- using MXPLayer ... much more tiny colorful pixels ...problem gone when switching to h/w decoder
I dónt have the problem when navigating the phone´s menu or system settings.
Also I tried to take some screenshots ,and... ..well the colorful pixels are gone from the jpg(screenshot)...better to say ,never been in the screenshot.
Do you think it was one of the last automatic update?... Should I concern about it ? Will it fix itself after a month or so, when making another update?
Thank you for taking intrest !

Pardon for my english.
I also I have the ZTE v987 ... and I get a similar case ... but only in the main menu. It's when overlapping images ... for example when leaving the keyboard. It happens with all ROMs... up with official ROM.
I attached image.
In Spanish.

Homescreen not remembered?

So really often when I use some apps and then click the homebutton the homescreen has to reload first. I first see my bsckgroud and then all my apps come up. This takes like 1-3 secs but is really annoying. I don't recognize this behaviour, however, so does anyone know if this is normal or not. If not a fix would also be nice.

It's not homebutton lag actually. My guess would be that for some reason the homescreen gets thrown out the ram memory and it has to be built up again

Dude I think its the viber app. Are you using this app? Try to close it and you will that the sensor will off. I uninstall it for the mean time and wait for another update

I had this too.. Thought it might be smart stay but I removed viber (even though I hadn't even signed in to it ) and Red Light is now gone! Suspect that may possibly have contributed to the slightly enhanced battery drain I was getting in the latest official stock JB ROM (XXDLIB)..

Here is the link http://db.tt/SkSNRu3C
I too had the sensor on all night last night. It was after installing siyah kernel it seemed to happen. This morning was going to flash stock kernel back to see if it fixed it. But before that I just did a reboot and when it came back on it was not showing anymore.
I do have Viber and it's always on as we use it for picture messages, it's still on now and the sensor is not showing.

I got the same problem after installing JB for my S3... but i did what you guys said... uninstalling viber the problem gone, so i better now knowing my JB Room its not the problem...
Viber just released v2.2.3 which they claim resolves the issue.

Mysterious Korean girl appearing on S3 lock screen during call

Hi Guys,
I'm having a strange problem on a S3 a customer has. The problem is that when you make a call and then lock and unlock the screen a mysterious korean girl appears and i have no idea how this happened or how to fix it. Wondering whether anyone has any ideas. (Attached a picture).
Phone is a NZ bought model, running stock ICS 4.0.4.
All help appreciated!
Cheers,
Maybe that's part of the preinstalled carrier stuff?
Is he using the stock dialer?
I don't think it would be preinstalled as it only started happening recently after his son was playing with his phone (but doesn't know what he did to make it happen) and yes its using the stock dialler.
thanks

Black on black is usually a theme related issue.. I suspect that the OP is using a different rom than the guys with the black text issue.
We've seen that alot on Cm/AOKP themes where there is a 'real dark' mod in the rom also that gets enabled. The mms app isn't accounting for the fact that the theme is different than the default. Notach based that black dialer and contacts on the Euro variant of the S4. Where as the North American device runes AMDL stock the Euro runs AMEA and I'd venture that the changes that need to be made are in either framework-res.apk or twframework-res.apk. Most likely some specific xml strings that need to be changed in twframework-res.apk since I believe the samsung messaging app makes touchwiz dependent calls.

Same black on black issue on MMS app on OEM AT&T Rom, and even when the Phone App was done just like the other 2, it never changes from White background. It's a shame as I was looking forward to this specific Mod, there's one thing I don't love about my GS4 and it's the white background on those Apps.
All of these worked great on clean rom 1.0. Thanks a lot this is what I was looking for.

Warning
Maybe I haven't done it correctly but, after copying and pasting the file "SecPhone.apk" using ES File Explorer the phone rebooted and the message "updating android" came up for a few seconds. I tried to restore from the backup that I had done before and that didn't work. So basically it worked. I just can't go back to the default settings and every time the phone boots up that message comes up for a few seconds. Does anybody know why that happened?
The 3rd and 4th link go to the same file. Is that correct or am I missing something?
I installed the 3 files and everything works except the Black on Black issue with SMS. Has any one found a fix for that?

I figured out the black on black problem. After you install the dark SecMms.apk Make sure to delete the accompanying SecMms.odex file. This solved the problem and will work fine on stock at&t Roms

Thanks a lot for the tip, as I've been trying this for some time and never figured that out, also, just to add something, after you delete the odex file, just restart the phone immediately as it will begin to give you error if you try to open the MMS app, after the reboot everything is GREAT, well at least as far as I can see.

[Q] Note 3 Contact Notifications bug and more...

I tried really hard to like this phone. Actually, I'm still trying. I paid a lot of money to get this phone and upgrade from my Evo 3d. It does some things well but it has some nagging issues that are really affecting my experience. Here are some of the most annoying to me.
1) My Wifi connection continuously cycles off and on for no apparent reason. Evo 3d never did that.
2) A VERY noticeable lag occurs sporadically during usage. It lasts for about 2 seconds, then registers all the key presses that occurred during the lag.
3) There's a bug when attempting to assign custom notifications to individual contacts. I've tried Ringdroid, and Ringtone Maker, both will create the notification sound, but it won't populate to the list of available notifications that you see from the contacts page. If you click on Contacts, and select a contact, then go down to Message Alert, the notification you just created will not be there. But the weird thing is it will be in the System notification menu. If you press the Menu button(from you homescreen),then Settings, then Device (at the top), then Sound, then Default notification sound, it will be there. This is a frustrating glitch. My Evo 3d never did that.
4) Why is the Camera and Music player disabled during a call? My Evo 3d never did that.
5) My Magazine is a nice concept, but it shouldn't take 3 seconds after swiping up to begin.
Honestly, this is my first Samsung phone, so some of you may have already been aware of some of these issues. But unless I'm just an *****, and someone on this forum knows how to fix all these issues, I think I would have been better off getting another HTC device.
Why didn't you get the one Max ? Heck anything is a upgrade from the 3d . Are you within 14 days?

Issue #3 is a bug that has been present on every Galaxy phone since the GS1. A reboot after creating the notification usually makes it appear on the list of notifications from the contact's screen. Double at that which is kinda annoying.. If I remember correctly the bug is only for notifications, ringtones populate the list as soon as created. Also deleting either one of the duplicates to just have one show will completely destroy the notification tone from working.

I read extensive reviews and the Note 3 was (at least on paper) a more powerful device. And no, I assumed I just didn't know how to operate the phone correctly, so I gave myself time to learn Touchwiz. My 14 days went by rather quickly.
Thanx this worked just fine. I had originally been using Astro file manager, but it never gave me that prompt to use a separate file manager to choose a notification. I have since deleted Astro and switched to ES.

Follow the link, very simple process, and then check out the Android development section, plenty of screen shots and info to help you decide. Bottom line is, if you like stock and don't want to screw with your phone, don't root, If you like to screw with your phone and flash stuff, definitely do it!
