Hmm, so for working wifi we need a source code of 4.1 kernel?

No 4.1 kernel, just 3.4 . But we don't need that for wifi. Just need time

Will sync repo and try fixing up some stuff tonight. Great job @atis112

Guys, is there any chance to have full working CM 10.1 for our device? And is HTC good in giving resources or not?
I come from Sony and they give resources after they release a new rom, but their phones are buggy and not quality.

We cant measure it in chance. It depends on how much dev support we get.

Does the internal storage work ? Man this is great work ! Thanks @atis112
P.s I know you mentioned storage doesn't work ? Just not clear which storage you meant ?

100% chance. I guarantee you. Im not kidding or making fun. Devs like atis112 and others dont take much time fixing stuff. Plus the reason i'm so confident is, we have kernel 3.4 (sources will also come eventually), we have OEM STOCK JB, so we dont have to backport any thing.
lets try to fix storage and wifi first, then rest.

Just compiled a build with fixes for bt,wifi, storage and gps. Lets see if it boots up

I hope for the best buddy, if i was a dev i would def help, but the only thing i can do is hitting thanx and donating eventually - fingers crossed for all of you devs... :good:
EDIT: Guys let me ask you something i dont get - why someone is asking if CM 10.1 is working with TWRP recovery? I thought you must flash provided recovery and flash rom?
(on sony phones you download rom, extract recovery, put rom on sdcard, fastboot recovery and via installed recovery/cwm you install the rom. But you def use the provided recovery)

Will this affect us ??

I just saw this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=41115145
Will this affect us who love the JB ROMs as there is no Kernel Source for JB yet from hTC
It will affect us if we post JB ROMs which are not based on stock kernel without releasing the source code. So I think we should show up in the thread there and start gathering devices which face the same or a similar problem, so we can form a greater community against those manufacturers.
Yes it will affect, basically according to it your JB ROM is against rules
Sent from my HTC Explorer A310e using xda app-developers app
What I understand is, if using the stock boot.img and there is no source code for it, we have to remove the boot.img from the ROM as every users supposed to have the stock boot.img in their device.
I have no problem to remove the boot.img but the problem is we have many noobs which are not so sure with all the workaround and how to get things done

I still can post the ROM but without the boot.img... so the ICS hboot users will have a hard time

:good::goodont worry, you can unpack the stock boot.img. Just make some harmless changes in ramdisk and repack it. Then share the modified ramdisk on github along with zImage.
PM me if you need help on this.
Regards
Yasir
P.S. I know its a workaround, so some xda recognized dev is welcome to correct me if what i said above is wrong.:good::good:
I found This:
zelendel says:
"This is not so. The kernel source HAS to be made available. If the OEM doesnt provide the kernel source then no rom for that device will be allowed. OEMs post the source code for their kernels. Well most do anyway, the ones that dont are in violation of the GPL laws.
What ever kernel is in the rom that is posted must have available kernel source. If roms are using the stock kernel and no sources are available then it will be removed. If it is using a custom kernel based on the clone source and a link to the source can be provided then that is fine. But the source MUST match the kernel in the rom."
So i guess, custom JB Rom by you is in danger of removal.

It is ok if I remove the kernel.
It just that I don't have much time to redo the ROM.
I'll try to find time to make init.d support without ramdisk mod and post updated ROM.
If I don't have enough time, I can only upload a new ROM after I come back from vacation in mid June

Could it be possible just to use kernel from kernel.org, config from ICS HTC and adjusting this config a bit so that it works or is the kernel from android too much different from the linux kernel?
So i unnecessarily try to use prebuilt 3.4 kernel for cm10.1 because if it will working, i won't be able to share it -.-

Your hard work is nonetheless appreciated, thank you for that and also your efforts towards organising the petition etc.
Ok, but if I'm not mistaken, as soon as HTC releases JB's kernel sources every ROM based on it will be "legal" or according to xda rules and not been removed right?
May be they're waiting for every country to get JB by OTA to release them (I believe only India doesn't have received it yet if I'm not mistaken).
By the way @atis112, did you get any answer from GPL?
Have you all a great day

Quuestion For P769 Users...

Hello guys carloswii5 here and i had a quick question for you guys that have unlocked bootloaders what would you want to see first an MIUI V4(cant do MIUI V5 found out some critical info so maybe later for it) port or an AOKP CM10 build? im ready to start porting or building either one but i want your guys opinion so i can focus on one for right now and get it as fully functional as i can so you guys can use it as a daily and make the P760 users jealous (if you guys choose MIUI sinse they already got AOKP xD ) but let me know
(Edit)Ok so process has uhhhhh stopped for a while since me being an idiot and accidently flashing the incorrect zip has caused my phone to be (drum rollllllllllllllll) HARD BRICKED yea so im probably going to get another one sometime this week but im going to keep on decompiling framework and etc.. so when i do get it im going to root, unlock bootloader, install recovery, and flash MIUI yayyyy =D
(Edit) okay so i got a new phone going to root and stuff but quick update MIUI is going to take longer than expected so I'm going to ask pinoyto if i can take over his thread and update the ROM but don't worry i am still going to work on MIUI
Yes! MIUI would be a nice change of pace. If 1080p camcorder works even better!
Thank you for your efforts and accepting input from the community!

is there a cm 10.1 for p769 that we don't have to flash it to make it a P760?
I just want a stable stock android experience! Does the cm10.1 provide stability? I have no use for the mediocre camera, so the 1080p video not working doesn't bother me.

So... I see Jasp created a post with a CM 10.1 for our Grand Quattro. And as I see only one person have already tested it. Personally I will test it too. If anyone want to test it too, put your results here (I haven't 10 posts to post in development).

If is not that is the device tree. But I think should work. After looking to the sources they seem to be all the same.
It's a bit big because is odexed.
Ill be adding more functionalities soon.

[CLOSED]sAr Kernel

Hey guys !Whats better than newbie dev with a the most troublesome device but best device of 2018 ?
Yee its poco lol.
I tried almost all popular custom roms+kernel combos !Each of them are equally great and i loved them all ,some of yall already have made a custom rom/kernel ur daily driver ! However i consider myself as an idiot who wants it all in one , the very forbidden term best rom+kernel.
Sadly i m not here to present u that 'best'.However i can assure u this will drastically improve the experience of any u on regardless.
This is a combination of an abandoned poco project's thermal(that was know for its performance)+updated stock kernel with negligible tweaks to affect compatibility of you device.:victory:
The thermals were infamous for heating which is ---------------------------------FIXED
Stock Kernel infamous for slow charging------------------------------------------- FIXED
Stock Thermal infamous for low performance in heavy duty games------------FIXED
