Quick question... Is there any way to prevent the play store from updating this app.. I like to update apps in one go so it would be great if there was such an option.
I am guessing the answer is NO unless I install a modified play store?

I didn't explain myself properly..
I do have the auto update OFF. But I usually update apps by manually selecting UPDATE ALL. So I will need to remember to always cancel the Youtube update before it downloads.

have you enabled screen off playback? It is not yet enabled when I installed mine, so you might give it a try.

Buddy Der is an update to original YouTube app. App version is 5.0.2.1 and has new feature to show video in mini screen and still see the search results. Can u update ur app to it.

Tubemate is totallly different app, its like using a browser.... it receive server to download the videos! And is fast in downloading
