Without sd card reader, half the ram, single core cpu, lower resolution screen, IMO the Atrix, hands down. Nexus S is a phone of the past.
Sure, it's a Google Phone, it gets everything first, but with CM7 picking up it's pace as it has been on the Atrix, I don't see why anyone would pick the Nexus S instead.
Go go Atrix!
Agreed the Atrix has better specs. The Nexus S is a nice phone, I've gotten to play with it because my cousin has one. The Atrix is superior hardware and the Nexus S will get the official Google updates first. If I was going to pick between the two, I would definitely choose my Atrix, but I would also be happy with a Nexus S. I've been running the newest CM weekly with fingerprint for about 48 hours and have been very impressed with it.
I have the atrix running cm7 oc'd 1.45 but I wanna trade for BNIB NEXUS S WHITE
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
Depends on whether you are planning to load a custom ROM. If not, definitely don't use the Atrix. If yes, then the Atrix is probably better (unless you need a bigger screen or are a camera buff).
I love the atrix but, I have to ask....
If your going to buy a new phone why don't you get... "A new phone"?
Samsung Galaxy S II ?
Samsung Galaxy Nexus ?
and yes stock moto sucks.
Because I'm not buying I'm trading.. know anyone that wanna trade atrix for galaxy nexus. Yeah. Lol

But will I notice a speed difference with it overclocked??
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
It's pretty fast anyway without overclock, but when you get over the 100 app mark then you notice that it doesn't perform as fast. But overclocking to 1.45Ghz makes a significant difference to the speed.
So oc'ing the ns however fast(I haven't looked it up)would be nearly the same speed I'm having now on my atrix?? Or will I noticelag on the ns

You will notice lag. No matter how much you OC it, it won't be as smooth as the Atrix.
That's not saying the NS is a bad phone, but the only time I've used mine since i've had my Atrix is when the ICS SDK port was released.
I would go with the Nexus S. The probable lack of Sammich on the Atrix is a deal breaker for me.
Wow, is this a fun, beautiful phone.
Curious to who I know around here. Any x2/bionic peeps around? Curious to all of your thoughts on this phone and if any of you here are cheesecaking.
I must admit, I think I like this better than the Nex. Additionally, Moto made some very nice improvements to their interface (*blur*) on a lot of different levels.
Anyways, just saying hello to all of you. Let's keep this forum alive.
Cheers.

Hey 'Wolfe. Glad to see you here. I made the jump from the x2 (wife needed a working phone & I needed a new toy) the day this came out. So far, it's been a great experience & I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Glad you're on board.

I don't use hotspots so I haven't experienced this, but I do know I don't lose apps after a reboot
So far mobile connection seems far superior, as does performance. Also, huge fan of the screen, although I do get kind of a greenish tint at times where I feel it should be white - market hang screen for example.

It is great mobile. Am coming from nexus s after i broker the glass :'(.. So o designed to take this mobile over samsung s2
I really like it except the the larg body
BUT i noticed the wifi range is weak!! And there is no video calls option
Rather than that every thing is great

I'm sorry I didn't quite understand the trade-off bit...apologies...but when I saw it once, I was looking for a faaaaar brighter screen, considering the fact that its a sAMOLED...but I found it a little dark...but was told in some forum its because of some ambient setting...will make sure to check it next time properly...
But am surely buying it for sure...in a while... Congrats on your phone BTW.

Hope to see you here soon, this really has been an impressive improvement on Motorola's part. As far as the screen goes there's an additional option to allow the os to manage auto brightness to conserve battery. Net effect: it's about 25% dimmer at times than just "normal" auto brightness.
Sent from my DROID RAZR using xda premium
I believe the dimmer look is attributed to the AMOLED screen. What I was saying as far as a "trade-off" is that I'll take a slightly dimmer screen to get a less pentile effect. This screen looks much nicer than the Bionic in my opinion...
I just "upgraded " from the nexus to the razr and I am absolutely loving it. The nexus' radio was awful. This phone is just so much more solid overall.

Got this phone a week back! Totally loving it. My old Xperia X8 was almost driving me nuts! Already rooted and safestrapped!
So how's your RAZR experience?
Kindly help me to choose from ATRIX or Thrill
i have ARIX but i got an exchange deal with Thrill + Rs.1500($30) INR
From all specs i understand Thrill is overall better phone but
atrix has 1GB ram where 512 in thrill(but still its fast)
thrill has very poor life where atrix has 2000 mah battery.
atrix has better developer support.
thrill has 4.3" 3D screen
What i am concerned is:
1. if thrill play 1080p mkv download from net without convert
2. Games compatibility with thrill
3. video Gtalk
what you people wants to suggest?
to me the RAM is a big deal, the dev support is also important. I would stick with the Atrix
+1
1 GB of RAM is indeed a big plus on the Atrix.
Having 1 GB of RAM will allow (theoretically) an upgrade path to ICS or whatever comes next. Having actual ICS developers successfully working on this is another issue altogether though.
Also, you pretty much summarized all the features that makes the Atrix a better option compared to the Thrill. Although you forgot to mention the biometric scanner on the Atrix.
However, playing 1080P MKVs on the Atrix (or any other smartphone that I've tried) is not really good. At least on the Atrix you'll have to resort to a third party app like MX Video Player and use Software decoding since there is no hardware acceleration MKV codecs as of yet.
Video calls of the Atrix work awesomely good as you may have noticed.
In the end, the best phone is the one you end up using and liking, no matter what people say.
Cheers!
Rayan
And don't forget the lapdock! Once you hack that and turn it into a (mostly) real linux box it's quite nice.
Thrill is better than atrix. and already have a full working ICS port, and,well... Atrix have a buggy kang of cm9...
Choose a phone thinking in the software, not about hardware.... I learned this with the atrix

Agreed!
The lapdock, or should I say the Webtop option on the Atrix makes it better, much better in my opinion. Also LG is not the best in hardware design, all their models look and feel cheap and bulky, also in my opinion...
Does the Thrill have HDMI output?

thanks all of you for sharing ur experience.. this is really helping me out.
Atrix...my first Android and will be my only one until I see something better. Thus far, even the galaxy nexus is no match.
thats odd i had to go see since someone said working ics port and it looks more like they are still working with froyo mostly and some nightlies of cm7.anyway atrix all day if your itching for a new phone wait for a quad core to come out in a few months.if you have a dual core phone now anything you buy would just be a lateral move
Always Motorola, LG had never had a great reputation with the reliability of their hardware. Motorola always has better battery life, better call quality and better signal reception. Those are important right !!!

Hey,
I would recommend you the Lg Optimus, since it has a big display, which means you can play better, Single-core processor(1ghz), pretty good battery (1700 mah) and a large internal storage, which means you can keep apps in internal store (4GB internal storage, which of them 2.4GB usable). Moreover it has a very good camera, if you care about that (5MP, 30 fps and 1080p recording). It comes with ICS, so probably developers will upgrade it to Jelly Bean.
Hope that helped, and click Thanks button if so...

I vote One V. Great build quality and a dual core Snapdragon S4 if I remember correctly. Only downside is the 4.3" screen size, which I reckon is manageable.

Problem solved
Hard to say. I loved my G2 for the first few days:
- Unitl the touchscreen became unpredictable, making it impossible to reliably pick from lists, scroll, enter text, or even pull down the notification shade.
- Until I found out that ths touchscreen issue is far-reaching, affecting many G2 users, and so far LG has not recognized this as an issue
- Until I had to exchange my G2 - not an easy process via WireFly.com
I have another on the way. If this second one does not have this issue, I'll rate my G2 experience a 9/10. If I can enter text, scroll, pick, otherwise "USE" my phone, it'll be a great thing.
If it also exhibits this touchscreen issue, I'll rate it a 0/10 and I'll return it for another phone.
If you had to rate my satisfaction as of this moment, I'd have to say 5/10, as it could go either way.
want: unlocked bootloader, and kitkat.
bad: speaker placement. I know the IPhone and proably some other phones have speakers on the bottom like the LG G2. well it turns out tha thats the most stupid place to put the speaker. In landscape mode its pretty hard to hold it in a way to not cover the speaker entirely. but i guess, i am just holding it wrong.
I've never ever saw or heard anyone on Iphone complain about that. (they are used to holding it wrong i guess)
Very satisfied... The nav buttons can be a little annoying at times but the G2 Xposed app helps.
Sent from my LG-D801 using xda app-developers app
I'm satisfied with it, meaning that it meets my expectations plus a little. The G2 has some cool things about it for sure. The big battery, back buttons, knock on-off, the UI is good, and latest processor. I wish it had temp and humidity sensors though, the speaker and nav buttons in a different place, and a SD Card slot. The camera on mine is great as long as I'm in bright light, but indoors I have a hard time getting a good picture. I do like the display but I have to keep the brightness cranked way up to appreciate it which burns a lot of juice. If I keep the brightness down around 50 to 60% it's pretty bland looking.
I happen to like the S4's display and camera better than the G2 but that's just personal preference. The temp and humidity sensors come in handy at work and that's probably why I end up carrying the S4 more often than the G2.
I am very happy with the G2. Battery is fantastic and i love the interface. I came from an HTC One and this phone is a beast compared to that. Does lose 5% b/c of no sd card slot but i can use my HTC one as my music player now!
9/10 Just because I never give a 10. There are quirks with every phone. Overall very satisfied.

Overall great phone and I have few complaints.
I wish the phone had:
MicroSD
2nd Sim Slot
Camera Mute
Flat Screen (I don't like how screen protectors can't cover all the class because of the phone's curved edges)
