[Q] Can M250K GS II be used on AT&T???

Please help!! I got a SHW-M250K and I can't connect to AT&T 3G (HSPA/UMTS) at all. I'm also having trouble connecting to usually GSM network (the signal is usually weak. Sometimes it just got disconnected)
Is this normal??? I've searched the forum and it appears that M250K only have 910 and 2100 MHz HSPA radio? If that is true, there's no hope for my M250K to connect to AT&T's 850 and 1900 MHz 3G network??
I'm really depressed now. Please kindly help!

The Korean version is useless in the US, as far as I know.
See here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13490996&postcount=3
It only has UMTS 2100. ATT uses 850/1900 for 3g.
The Korean version also uses different SMS/MMS so you won't be able to use that either.

Help with Unlock SGH-T959 Vibrant

Hi guys
I have a problem with unlocking my vibrant, I'm from mexico and I want to make my phone working demo at the company TELCEL
TELCEL 3G/UMTS technology used in 850 MHz and GSM 1900 MHz
The problem is this only because I can do work on the network that uses technology MOVISTAR CDMA, UMTS at 850 MHz and GSM 1900 MHz
The point is that if I put a sim card TELCEL network does not recognize me but if I enter a mobile sim card of MOVISTAR recognize me with Network Type: EDGE (2g guess)
TELCEL also uses such a network EDGE network that also want to use
SGS try to unlock it and I get an unlock code FFFFFF not that mean
My phone is a Samsung SGH-T959 Vibrant Galaxy 2.2 Froyo kies updated and unlocked (who told me so I sold it)

[Q] Korean version GII 250S for AT&T

Hi guys.
I didn't know where to post and I have few questions on my Galaxy SII I bought from Korea and brought to USA.
I have KT's 250S galaxy SII and I'm trying to use it for At&t. I tried to put my At&t sim card in and looks like it is getting some connection. I was able to make a call.
However, looks like it's not getting any 3G connections. I heard there is some modification on the network I need to change to get 3G. Could you please let me know what should I do?
Thank you,
Andy

Go to the miui thread in development section and use the apn from there. That should theoretically fix your issue...

There is nothing you can do.

From the third post down:
Code:
<< Korea Galaxy S2 Network support >>
Double band UMTS 900/2100
Triple band GSM 900/1800/1900
<< EU Galaxy S2 band Network support>>
Quad band GSM 850/900/1800/1900
Quad band UMTS 850/900/1900/2100
AT&T and International (I9100) GSIIs support the same bands, which is why I9100s work perfectly in the US. Your device is completely missing support for the 850 MHz band (first device I've seen in years that wasn't quadband GSM other than dumbphones) and also missing support for 3G in the 1800 MHz band.
So you will not have 3G coverage anywhere, and you will completely lose coverage where AT&T uses the 850 MHz band.

[Q] Modem firmwares. Any that would work.

I am curious..
I bought a SGS2 i9100 (international)
the site i bought it from says
Wireless RadioGSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz
UMTS 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100 MHz
Now.. i have a HTC panache (mt4g) that is on my carrier... and it says
AWS 1700, 2100 MHz (Bands I et IV)
IS THERE A MODEM I CAN FLASH FOR MY SGS2 that would work on my HTC panache carrier?
OK. Let's try this again...
Finding a modem that works well with your carrier & it's network with the SGS2 can be a bit of trial & error. Basically if the modem you're currently using is giving you lousy coverage/data speeds, start flashing/testing modems until you find one that works for you. Here's a link to a bunch of CWM flashable I9100 modems you can try to get you started. Do a Google search with XDA appended to your search terms & you should be able to dig up heaps of posts that link to others you can download/try.
Well it seems like i do have a australia modem (BUKI1)
When i put my SIM card from my HTC phone.. The SGS2 automaticly goes into roaming and doesn't detect the non roaming carrier..
By the way I'm in canada.
IT ALSO SEES THE APN for my HTC phone carrier when i put the sim card.. but goes straight to roaming

It can only detect a carrier on auto if the CSC has the carriers settings .
OZ modem most likely OZ CSC as well . Just set network manually .
jje
JJE i tried that... it doesn't even list the carrier in the list...
goes straight to roaming..
I think it's the modem that not doing it since it's a autralian Modem...

No, see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1203385
So it is impossible.. Can anyone else confirm this?

Is your network T-Mobile USA? (I'm guessing yes since you've also got a MyTouch4G?)
The phone does not have the necessary radio hardware to receive 1700 mhz. Which is one of the bands necessary for AWS. So nothing better than Edge on T-Mobile USA.
No amount of modem flash is ever going to fix a hardware limitation.
Edit: Oh, I see from one of your posts above you're in Canada, so you're NOT on T-Mobile USA. BUT everything I said is still valid. If you're trying to get the phone to receive 1700 mhz, you won't have a lot of luck without some major phone surgery involving a hardware antenna engineer, as stated in the link provided to you by oinkylicious.

[Q] Will At&t i777 work in UK?

Hey guys, just about to trade and get one of these, I just want to know if it can work in the UK because At&t is USA based. Will my O2 sim work in it by using the app from the market which carrier unlocks it?
No comments about my username please

It'll probably work but I don't think o2 supports the 3g bands our phone uses so you'll be running on edge

thanks,
I searched up o2's 3g bands and it came up with, 850,900 and 1800.
The samsung galaxy s2 i777 model bands: Quad-Band 850/900/1800/1900 MHz, 3G EURO/AT&T AND 3G Network HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100
So it could possibly work. I don't use 3G much anyway, I only get 2g in my area and at school I get HSDPA. Might ask the trader if i can trial the:
a) sim
b) network connection bands

Just might have to make sure you are not in a 1900 mhz band area

Just FYI, only ONE of the frequencies need to match for you to get 3G, they don't send out one frequency at a time.
