[Q] Two copies of one app? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is it possible to have two copies of one app so I can open one and have one account on it and open the other and have another account? (I have root)

I don't believe so because they have the same package name. They'll both read the same data unless you change that.

Push email on stock app?

I want to use the samsung email client since well... i like the widget on the desktop. I don't see an option to PUSH in settings. The quickest I see is to check every 5 minutes. Did I not set up the email correctly or what is it?
I had a push option earlier when I first entered my gmail account info but had to delete it because the push was being random. Having readded the account there isnt a push option any longer.
Help?
maybe this can help you..its for the s3 but should be the same..

Holy crap, talk about thread necromancy. OP is from May 2011.
Does anyone have any news on this subject?
Push email was available on the native S2 email client.
I vote for native apps first.
I tried the advice inside the android forum link, it works (gmail with exchange) but is sucks too much data in stand by.

This thread is in the galaxy s2 forum. Looks like you're a galaxy s3 user?
Yes, but since the op complained of a similar problem on the s2, i thought there is a connection.

Mail apps & zip files (Native apps Gmail & E-mail)

Hi,
Each time I receive a zip file by email with native gmail app or even native e-mail app my device tell me this is not permitted because zip files might contains malicious code...
Since i'm not a child I think I should be able to change this behavior but it seems impossible.
Is there a way to correct this ?

Im using the statet app in this post and i think it works
http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-1350606.html
heres the app link https://play.google.com/store/apps/...wsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5od2tyYmJ0LmRvd25sb2FkYWxsIl0.
Many thanks for your help.
But this is not what I'm looking for : I never give permission to any app to read my mails.
I'm looking for a native way to do it and if there's not then I will post it as a bug in Google groups.
Seriously... how can Google give us no way to read zipped document sent by mails?

[Q] Change People.apk in CM 10.2

Hi there
I really hate the stock people.apk that comes with CM 10.2, and I was wondering if it's possible to switch it to something else as defaults contacts editor.. Even the stock samsung app is a lot better..
Thank you!
Yes, loads of contacts app on the play store

Yes, but I mean one that would replace people as the default one, since the other contacts apps seem to direct you to people.apk when you want to edit contact details
There's nothing to replace it. Not all contacts apps "direct you"

[Q] Stock E-Mail APK - Note 2/3

Hello community,
I'm using SlimKat currently and I'm disappointed from the e-mail app.
I didn't found a way to create folder with it and I'm not possible to sync all e-mails.
The Original E-Mail apk from Samsung (4.1.2 / 4.3) gave me the possibility.
So my question is where can I get one of these Apps? If possible to get the Note 3 E-mail apk I would like to test it, so if someone could give me a link it would be great.

[Q] S5 email app

Hello does anybody know if it's possible to aquire the s5 email app (with swipe to delete)? I've seen threads that have it in zip format. The instructions for it says to install as a normal app but the app isn't within the zip. The zip contains files that need to be flashed. I'm just looking for the app if possible as I'm not rooted.
TIA

Don't know about s5 email, you might try CloudMagic email app from the play store. You can swipe across to delete single or multiple messages.
