If i read correctly,
The thread above states that it runs commands that forces any l9 to enter fastboot,
But will it still work if I'm already rooted and with locked bootloader cwm?
Thanks in advance

Yes it will work, but don't flash a different boot or recovery img or you will get a security error. Why do you want to fastboot anyways?

So I could flash Roms,
But if I start getting security errors its not worth it lol

Well, if your rom boots normally, then you can download ROM flasher or 4rext recovery flasher from the GP. These apps are able to flash recovery under your android/

I was going to suggest that too, but it sounds like he's at the step after unlocking but before the custom recovery which means su hadn't been installed. I believe those apps need su.
OP: are the drivers installed if you are using a windows machine?
Read, Search, Read again, ... Then Ask with Tapatalk 2
yes,ive reinstalled the drivers a couple times.i dont have su yet.im at the step just after unlocking bootloader.

You could try locking the bootloader and running the ruu.exe to set everything back to stock and then start over.

I may end up doing that.there was also recently a htc universal root posted on this site,do u think that would work?

Although the dev claims it does, Ramjet73 tried it and was having trouble getting it to work with the 3d. I wouldn't count on it working, but I do know that the unknownforce/closeone live CD hboot downgrade method and the JB wire trick do work.
I achieved s-off with dirty racun but I have not been able to get into recovery or flash a ROM. I am wondering if my bootloader didn't get unlocked.

i guess you didnt realize why there are only roms posted in this section
1. You should know for a fact when you unlock your bootloader as is says TAMPERED big as hell after you do it. 2. You need to flash a recovery via adb "fastboot flash recovery.img" because your phone does not come stock with a recovery so it will not appear if you haven't flashed one. 3. You clearly posted in the wrong section and if you don't take time to read (rules and guides step by step) around here you most likely won't be helped and you may even get made fun of.

Have you rooted your phone, or have you only run Dirty Racun? Gaining S-off and root are not the same, and Dirty Racun won't root your phone. You have to unlock your bootloader, flash a custom recovery and the proper su binary to attain root, at which time you can flash ROM's, etc.

Need help with flash a recovery. Re-locked by phone and flash 2.13 RUU so I could get the OTA. After getting the OTA I unlocked again and trying to get root and nothing is working. When I use the command "fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.1.8-jewel.img or fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.3.1.0-jewel.img" it keepingsaying "sending 'recovery' (7220 KB)..." and never happens. It just sits there. The OTA installed hboot 2.09. Anyone have any ideas what is going on and does anyone else have the same problem after taking the OTA.
Did you try flashing recovery through bootloader at all?

Thanks for the reply. I have it working now. In fastboot mode the drivers provided no longer work. I had to download and install HTC Sync with the latest driver. The I was able to install a recovery (TWRP) system. With the posted drivers would not work.

Okay so I used the SuperCID apk and it converted my CID to a bunch of Twos and then I used the HTC unlock method to unlock my phone. But after I select root my phone I'll void the warranty it boots into Android mode where I reboot it into recovery it says locked. It doesn't say relocked or unlocked it simply says locked like it never unlocked my phone even though it had just said it unlocked it maybe 2 minutes prior. Has anyone else had this problem? How do I fix it?
Can you try to explain what's happening a little bit better.

Okay so I ran the SuperCID from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=36976137 and it changed my CID to 22222222.
I then do "fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin" that I got from HTC and then select Yes on the prompt.
It then boots into normal android mode and then it goes through the normal setup. I then enable the debuging mode and then do
"adb reboot-bootloader" it then reboots into bootloder locked.

Is there a way for you to take a video of when you send the unlock token and click yes on your phone. Because I'm really not sure what's going wrong.

I've only heard of it taking multiple times if your trying to re unlock, not on the first unlock.

Just keep trying... some people get it first try other dont...
If you do a factory reset first from bootloader then unlock, it will work first time every time.......it'll wipe your SD tho. Once you have a custom recovery flashed don't use that method anymore tho

For me. I had to turn phone completely off. Then boot into HBOOT/Fastboot in order for the unlock to work. Make sure fast boot is unchecked in the power options before turning off.
In about three minutes this video should show a HTC DNA not unlocking even with SuperCID change and the correct file to unlock the phone with.
Code:
youtu.be/6P7mQ0rP-ms
Just keep at the command. Keep redoing it until it sticks. Took me 5 tries. Now I'm S-OFF & unlocked...with the OTA. Just keep doing it. It'll stick...eventually.

Thanks a lot turning it completely off actually did the trick. Now my next question is since I had to put on a custom recovery to install Super User now do I install a stock recovery so that it can do over the air updates now that I have S-Off. If it updates my stock rom with OTA will I have to flash a custom rom to root it again or will SU still be there because its S-Off?

I'm not sure why'd you want to take the ota, but yes, you'll need the stock recovery if you want to take it. Then you'll need to install a custom recovery and install a superuser package.
Having s off has nothing to do with superuser or the ota.

Sorry they are a dumb questions , i don't know.
I unlocked bootloader and installed cwn , and rooted my rom.
I have two questions:
1. Can i have root and cwn with locked bootloader? (guess not .. but not sure)
2. Can i lock again bootloader? say if I flash stock ics via lg tool or..
please don't laugh or something.. i'm new here and curious. (after i rooted my phone and tried a few roms i end up to the conclusion that it's better with bootloader locked and root only)

You just temporally locked it back, it's still unlocked.

If it's "temporarily locked" why can I not unlock it without flashing 20b again and going through the whole process again?
Hidden menu says locked - s/w update does not indicate unlocked bootloader
And I still cannot get into fastboot without running the fastboot.Bat through windows

You don't have to install the 20B again, all you need is it's u-boot.img. If you don't have the u-boot.img, just extract it from the kdz. Open this thread in a browser, and look at my signature.

So, I unlocked my bootloader, re rooted flashed cwm. Blah blah blah. However, I had to skip a step, I could not flash from 20B to 10G like the guide I followed said I should. SO, I have an inverted screen still. with a weird orange tint to add to boot. So, any one have any ideas?
Any help is welcome and well appreciated!
I also have fastboot and CWM installed.
And the one and only time I got it to properly flash was after I installed fastboot. But I retraced my steps and I can't create the same outcome.
Did you try flashing the ICS u and x with fastboot? After that, you can flash any kdz.
