Hi,
I just got my phone, and one of the first think I did, was to start updating to latest firmware on Kies. This seemed to get stuck for hours so i disconnected the USB cable, and after that, all that happens when i start the phone is that I see a phone and a computer symbol with a warning triangle in the middle.
I have tried emergency restore in Kies, but cant get into this mode (vol up,home, On/off button ?). I suppose I somehow have to reset my phone, but how am I to do this now?
If you are wanting to do a Factory Reset then, *2767*3855#. And you should press Volume Down+Home+Power key to enter Download mode I guess.
Regards.
I cant dial any number because all I see when i turn it on is that screen i described with some symbols. I do manage to get it into download mode, but I dont really dont know where to go from here to restore everything. Kies tells me I need emergency restore, but I cant get into this mode...
phone off vol up = home + power hold down until splash screen and release .
Then wipe data and factory reset.
That fails service centre next .

When i Try the combo vol up+home+power nothing happens other then the phone starting with the symbols.I suppose this combo doesn't work on my phone, at least if I am not doing it horribly wrong.
As soon as you get a display release vol up + home followed by pwr .

I have tried what you are saying several times, but I am still stuck at the screen with the symbols:/
edit: this is how my screen looks: http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=File:Samsung_Galaxy_S_Black_Screen_of_Death.jpg
I have tried to flash the firmware in ODIN but that gets stuck at zimage.
Now i fixed my problem by flashing to branded original kernel from Orange. I have realized I am not able to update this though, and I dont want all these useless apps preinstalled. Therefore I have tried to flash to EU unbranded ROMs like XWKE7. But when I am doing this, Odin always gets stuck.
Is there anything I should do before I flash one of these ROMs (yes I am new to this...)?
I am sorry to spam my own thread, but now my phone got locked up by the same symbols again, but this time I cant manage to flash back to original orange kernel. Each time i try to flash, the process gets stuck at zimage or some other point.
Any ideas how to fix? Or have i bricked my phone?:/
Start at the beginning .
Boot to recovery mode Advanced Wipe Dalvik Cache .
Mounts and storage Format data system sd card .
No recovery on phone just wiper data and factory reset .
Power phone off source stock rom from stock roms post in dev section set up Odin .
Boot phone to download mode connect cable and flash rom .
Or
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1108499
That fails its a service centre .

I didnt quite get what you were saying there. I have wiped my phone with recovery, but when I try to flash any ROM with ODIN the process stops after a few seconds, and I have to flash my original Kernel to get things to work. Any thoughts on this?
Edit: I figured my "fix" was using another PC with another USB port, because my current pc seems to hate my SG2 device

SOS
Quick question first - Where are you and what network are you on? Because the one below is for INS India so you may need a different firmware
OK try this.
Download this firmware - Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus GT-S7500 (get both parts)
And the flasher - Odin3 v1.83 GT-S7500
Extract everything to the same folder then do this -
1. Open Odin
2. Make sure phone is totally powered off (Remove battery for 30 seconds then reinsert)
3. Boot the phone into Download Mode. You can do this by pressing and holding down the Volume Down and Home buttons while pressing the Power button until you are welcomed by a green robot indicating you are in Download Mode.
4. Once the phone is in Download mode, connect your phone to your PC while keeping the Odin3 application running.
5. Within a few moments, the ID:COM section in the Odin3 application will turn yellow. This indicates that the necessary drivers for your device have been successfully installed on your computer.
6. In Odin3, click the PDA button. Browse for S7500DDLB1_S7500ODDLB1_S7500DDLB1_HOME.tar.md5 and select it.
7. In the Option section in Odin3, make sure only Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time are checked.
8. Hit the “Start” button in Odin3 to begin flashing the Gingerbread firmware to your phone. It may take 5-10 minutes for the installation process to finish. Your phone should automatically reboot itself.
9. As soon as you see the Samsung splash screen, disconnect your phone from your PC.
10. Switch off your phone completely.
11. Reboot the phone into Recovery Mode. You can do this by holding down the Volume Up and Home buttons, then pressing down the Power button.
12. Once inside recovery, perform a wipe:
Select “wipe data/factory reset”, then select “Yes” on the screen that follows to confirm data wipe.
Select “wipe cache partition”, then select “Yes” on the screen that follows to confirm wiping your phone’s cache partition.
13. Head back to the main menu, then select “Reboot system now” to reboot your device.
(If you have problems with the drivers get these and install - Samsung USB Drivers)
Original instructions from here
Hope this helps unbrick your phone. You may need to re-root after this though
I figured that earlier but thanks... I didn't checked xda-forums......

I didn't get it. You are not able to boot into recovery? If so then you haven't flashed CMW properly. Try again and get into recovery by volume up + center button + power button.

You have a galaxy s ii alright, what model? I9100?
So let me get this straight, you flashed via odin and the phone rebooted in CMW?
That would mean you didn't flash a thing.
Have you followed any flashing guide?

you flashed via odin by putting your device in download mode right?
did it restart after flashing the firmware? did you see result in the odin window?
if you can attach screenshot of the odin window it might help to understand the issue.
after flashing I9100XWLS8_I9100FOPLS3_FOP via odin, device should restart. first time it takes time. if you are stuck in samsung logo go in to recovery mode and do factory reset then restart the device. it should be fine.

Did you even read about what those links are meant for?
One is for flashing ICS, the other is for getting back to stock firmware, and the last one is for getting out of a soft-brick.
REBOOT into Download Mode (Home + Power + Vol. Down)
PLUG your device in your PC.
KILL all KIES process working on the background (If you don't have Kies, install it and then close it all up)
OPEN ODIN and select the JB LS8 tar file on PDA and press start.
When it says "pass", phone will reboot itself.

When Odin shows "Pass" the device should reboot itself and go straight to android, not recovery.

I had a similar issue(more than once) and in my case I split the myFirmware file into it's 3 individual parts using Cygwin and SplitFUS2 and flashed from that with Odin 1.85. You could do this with FW file S5830IJPLK1_S5830IOJPLI1_XSG. I also used the pit file(cooperve_0623.pit), but I'm not sure if it was required but point is, it worked.
I also got out of trouble with the use of a backup which although not solid did get me out of trouble. The backup would not restore so I loaded ClockWorkMod recovery and in advanced restore, restored the system folder from my backup, this worked and got me into the phone. However you may not have a backup.

Take your battery out of
your phone, and again insert it and enter into
the download mode by pressing Volume
down + Home + Power button. If your phone
doesn't enters the download mode don't
worry. Connect your phone with PC by USB
cable and open the Odin V1.85 in your PC.
After opening the Odin, Now press V olume
Up + Volume Down + Power Button . Your
phone will now boot in recovery mode by
Odin. After entering into the download mode,
it asks to press Volume Up button, Press it.
Now you're in the download mode by Odin.
While, the Odin running in your PC must
have recognized in your PC. Now select the
Pit Option, and select the .pit file that you
have downloaded with the Odin .zip file .
Now extract the stock ROM file in your
desktop. Then open the Odin. Now you've
selected the .pit file, now leave the boot
loader blank. And select the "PDA " option
and select the file that is named similar to
PDA that you've extracted in the desktop.
And now select the "Phone" and select the
file that is named similar to "MODEM" . Now
select the CSC and select the file name
similar to "CSC" and select it.
Now the Part is over. Just click the Start
Button , and it will be flashing the Stock ROM
on your Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830i. Wait
for 5 Minutes, once it is complete. Unplug
the USB cabel, and boot your phone
normally. It'll take 5-10 Minutes for booting
because it is now booting in a new ROM.
And that's it, your phone is now back! Your
phone has got back the Stock ROM !

I have done it but still this issue of booting up persists. What do you think? Is it a hardware related issue or still I can make it live with some flashing techs....
thanks

If this solution doesn't work, then your only solution is USB Jig.

Whenever I flash back my stock rom using odin on my Galaxy Ace, it gives me a bootloop just like yours. The simple solution for this is go to recovery mod and do a "Wipe data/ factory reset". That's it now reboot. It should work fine. Please try this. Hope I Helped
use Odin3 v1.84 for Samsung Galaxy Ace-i instead
Its working........great.........
If u want to flash then use "Odin3.v3.07.Cooperve" and also put "cooperve_0623.pit" in pit tab...........
why odin3 v3.07 can't detect my phone, my phone displays odin mode and at the bottom donloading do not turn off target, nothing happens..
