Hi,
Is there a way to open a s note sheet when I detach the spen or am I restricted to just opening the app and having to select what note I want and blah blah
Time is money

No sensor
Note 1 does not have the sensor to detect when you withdraw the pin. Note 2 does. Should be able to enable pop-up note in settings somewhere( sorry so vague, I do not have access to Note 2.)
GMD s-pen control can be used with a gesture to open any app I believe. Can be used with Samsung firmware specifically for S-note. Not quite the convenience you are looking for but could be useful on any custom ROM on original note. Papyrus is an alternative to S-note as well if using non Samsung firmware.

Hello, I know that there is an app which allows assigning keyboard to screen mode (potrait or landscape), but is there any app which can do the same witch application? Any help would be nice, regards.

I assume that there is no app like this? ;P
tasker can prompt on app load
would be a good idea this would. there is a keyboard switcher that works on rotation but to have one for specific apps could prove useful
Is not it very stressful having to use different keyboards for different apps?I can not see the benefits.
Me too
I also want this feature on my note 8. The reason is, I want Samsung keybord in Lecture notes, to have the awsome text recognition feature. And SwiftKey keyboard for everything else!
What app switches depending on orientation, as said in op?
Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk 2
I thought about writing one a while back but got pushed into other projects I feel it should be fairly simple what you would want to do is set the app as default keyboard then inside the app you would choose which keyboard you want and then the app itself would just call the input from that keyboard

Tasker + SecureSettings can do on app and on orientation.

Here's how to do it using Tasker & Secure Settings: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=45570023&postcount=4
How about this? Not free though.

I'm on the verge of buying an LG Optimus G, or a Galaxy Note II, and the one big software feature that draws me toward the Note II is the multi-window feature. But, I'm wondering, will I really use it, and how well does it work?
Please participate in the included poll so we can gauge just how usable this feature is.
Thanks!
EDIT- Thanks to everyone who responded. I finally got my Note 2 and I'm loving it. I'm planning on rooting to enable multi window access for any app
Re: [Q] Do you use the Galaxy Note II's "multi window" multitasking?
When ever I am on stock I use it a lot. Multi window is also the first thing I show to all my iPhone friends
But if you want ASOP, then multi window won't be a option

I use it to show off. Thats it.

Re: [Q] Do you use the Galaxy Note II's "multi window" multitasking?
At the moment I only use it to show off but I don't see why I wouldn't use it in the future. It would be useful to check something while I'm navigating.

I don't use multi screen but I will jump back and forth with the recents list instead.

Re: [Q] Do you use the Galaxy Note II's "multi window" multitasking?
This thread is funny because it's true. Only use it to show off to people. Otherwise useless. Recent open stuff is easy to scroll through and it holds your spot for the most.

Re: [Q] Do you use the Galaxy Note II's "multi window" multitasking?
I use it when I'm looking at a website and I'm copying things to my build prop in root explorer or stweaks or anything else I can think of like that. It's better than holding down home and going back and forth.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 2
I don't find it practical to use on such a screen this size. Just to show off.
Re: [Q] Do you use the Galaxy Note II's "multi window" multitasking?
I use it all the time. I watch videos on top while I do other stuff (games, texts, etc). Fyi.....verizon only includes about 7 useless apps in that feature so you would have to root to really use it. Seriously. ...the apps they limit it to make it pointless. I rooted just so I could throw youtube, nfl, netflix, etc in there.

multi window
i can't add any apps other than the six or so that are already listed. i have the recent LL4 update... i haven't bragged about it yet. i keep it turned off.

Same I always forget about it since I always have it off because the handle thingy always gets in the way :/
You can actually use ANY app in multiview if you mod the apps installer file WITHOUT ROOTING:

Its legit..I use it on the road slacker radio on one screen navi on the other I like it

This sounds perfect. I havent recently but I delivery as an odd job sometimes and having the music app and navigation right there without switching is perfect especially in a car
Is there a way to completely remove the MW handle and have it activated on a swipe gesture? I don't know about you guys, but that handle always gets in the way of something which is why I always have it off :/

I think the large screen size of the note 2 is the only reason the multi Window has any use at all.
I actually do use it more than I thought I would. I've had xda open or a screen shot of instructions on xda open on top and root explorer on bottom so I don't screw up and move mod files to the wrong location.
Another big one is my todo.txt app alongside my calendar app to plan out my day/week. Also YouTube is awesome to have in portrait mode and slide the screen split up a bit to hide everything but the video and do something else in chrome. Or sometimes I'm watching lucidmike on top and trying out whatever he's talking about on the bottom simultaneously

That's the biggest thing I've used it for so far, makes it easy to follow mod instructions while making changes.

Is there an app/widget (for root or stock) that can activate the profiles created in samsung tectile app? I don't want to have to have another tectile just to return to a normal profile, would be fine doing it from a widget. Currently I go through the app to return to a normal, kind of a pita...
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app
I don't know about an app to trigger a tectile, but you could use Tasker to change what you want.
Steep learning curve, but incredibly powerful.
Sent from my Galaxy Note 2 using Tapatalk 2
I don't know why but I read the title as "testicle." What the hell is tectile? I've never heard of it.
Edit: Ah, nvm. I did a quick google. Believe it or not I've had 3 different devices with NFC and have never even used it once.
I'll give Tasker a try. I am alright with learning curves. It looks like I can create a "normal" profile and just activate that through a widget. Thanks for the response.

NFC task launcher can set the NFC tags to have 2 tasks, I. El. One to mute sound, then tap again to turn sound back on.

I came from the Note 2 with 4.3 FTW 1.0 and Synergy r3 roms. Both roms allowed me to open apps in the pop up windowed mode by clicking on the app in the multi window tray. On the note 3 stock rom clicking the apps in the tray automatically opens the split screen mode. Looked through the roms and screen shots and haven't seen a mention of this. Does anyone know how to get that feature on the note 3 besides using pen window manager?
Sent from my SM-N900P using xda app-developers app
Used xposed installer. It's a apk that allow mods. Once you have installed it look for a mod called "Xhalofloatingwindow". It will allow you to have apps that pop up. Oh and there's a cool app to use in conjunction with xhalo. It's called floating notification and you can find it in the android market.

Never. It's just a silly gimmick, along with theair view, hand gesture, eye tracking horse ****, which has been turned off since day one.
Out of everything in air command, I only use pen window and very little times action memo. Everything else is basically garbage to me
Been using mine a lot to help keep up with to do list. Mostly action memo.

I only use it when I try to decide if there is a use for it and then yea, I end up not using it!
I use my S Pen daily. I type faster with it, I use it to navigate non touch optimized full desktop pages, I use it in my machine shop when i have grit and metal particles on my hands, I use it to take notes at meeting and convert to text later, I use it for photo editing, I use it to cut out pictures, copy and paste, take snapshots, draw sketches and use it to auto-complete shapes, etc. I could go on and on.
I use my spen all the time so I can hear the light saber sound when I take it out and put it back .....lol

Never used it on my Note 2, never use it on my Note 3. I buy the Note series for the screen real estate. I could not care less about a novelty pen, lol.
I use it every Sunday in church to take notes. And sometimes during the week.

Constantly. I would not have this device with out a pen. Responding to business questions with an illustrated PDF I personalize with layered explanations over drawings catalog pages, or photos is a unique and invaluable too
