Hey friend. I formatted cache, system etc. When I tried to install CM9, It says installation aborted. Or when I flashing the kernel, in the past it was coming freeXperia logo, now nothing but senseless lines comes. What should I do ? What should I flash to open my xperia ?
I managed to install a CM9 kernel but still does not install rom. Any help ?
I solved it by installing a new kernel.

I am using Sony W8 with stock kernel. When I tried to install the Ginger DX v029, problems occured. I used CWM to install this rom with following steps:
1. Install custom rom -> reboot phone. Unfortunately, my phone got freeze when it booted to the gingerdx icon. I tried to reinstall many times but the problem was not solved.
2. wipe out-> install custom rom-> reboot. This time, the phone can boot to the main menu but the system file "has stop working"
Anyone know about these problems? Please help me!
Can anyone help me pls!!!

Hey guys,
actually I didn't want to create a thread for this as I thought I might resolve it myself or that I'll find the answer elsewhere.. But after 5 attempts with each different methods, I don't know what to try anymore.
I have the Xperia MIni (st15) and I want to try the Smultronic ROM. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1796272). My attempts looked like this:
I flashed the ICS .587 stock ROM via Flashtool to get a clean thing to start with (including full wipe)
I root by flashing the .562 kernel, run the Doomlord script to gain root access and reflash the .587 stock kernel
I install CWM (xparts or cwm-install script, both works and doesn't make any difference)
I choose the smultronic 5.0 ".zip" in CWM (no wipe) and follow the instructions in Aroma installer. (Unlocked Bootloader chosen, as I have one).
The installation finishes successfully after a few seconds (!) and I am proposed to reboot.
The result of this is that my phone will get stuck at the SONY screen (>20 min.), which up to my knowledge means that there is no boot process for a ROM, just the bootloader showing it is alive.
I tried a bunch of things, like starting from a "used" stock ROM, fully wipe the system (+Dalvik) before starting the installation or choosing another Recovery installation method. No problem to recover any stock rom, but Smultronic still don't want to start when I try the above again.
I really feel a bit stupid, as this ROM is actually made for my particular device, and I don't manage to install it. Anyone finds the error?
Thanks a lot.

If your bootloader is unlocked, why are you using xparts to install cwm instead of a custom kernel?
To your problem, boot in cwm, do the wipe data/factory reset, install the rom, reboot and see what happens. If it's not working, flash another custom kernel or download an older version of the rom...

Hi, I tried installing a custom rom on my x10 mini pro. I did rooting, unlocking bootloader, and flashing custom kernel right (I also did it on my x8). I attempted to install gingerDX v31b under nAa 14 kernel. After flashing the rom and rebooting to system, the phone keeps getting stuck on nAa logo and then it restarts, gets stuck on nAa logo and restarts again.
I also tried flashing naa jb kernel and a jb rom, and i still get the same results. What could be the problem and how will I be able to fix it?

Maybe you got your kernel and rom from the wrong place. If you have an X10MiniPro make sure you get kernel and rom from the x10minipro section too, and not from the x10mini section. Although the phones seem similar apart from the keyboard, they do have a different digitizer too.

On which kernel are you now? If you're on a JB kernel, make a full wipe ( data,cache,dalvik-cache,system), install a GB Kernel and then install GDX. If you're on a GB kernel, also make a full wipe and then install GDX. Of course, make sure youre using the right ROM and kernel for your device.
Please press thanks if I helped .
Hi at all, i'm italian (sorry for my english) and i've a very big problem.
I've xperia mini. I installed CM 9.1 and mesa hybrid kernel 4.4. I was wrong to enter the unlock pattern screen, and after the verification code google (never finished) the phone went into bootloop. In an attempt to fix the situation I did a wipe of the system and now I have no OS installed and when I turn off the system from recovery (that works) written out "E: Unable to locate page (install." I tried to flash the CM from sd but it gave me error Session 7, then following the advice here on xda I worked around the problem but the rom does not install the same, always says Failed and remains on Updating Partition ...
What can I do? You can send in the warranty?
Thank you in advance if you can help me. Hello.

Ok, i flashed stock last ics with flashtool and it works! I obtained root access with e-root one click, and installed recovery with xparts but CM give me always the same error... why?!
Hmmm....first of all, wipe system will always make your phone in bootloop...your should factory reset not wipe system...
second, since you already use custom kernel before this, then why do you need to go so much trouble install CWM using xparts? jst flash custom kernel and you will have per-rooted phone and built-in CWM recovery....

Hello there,
I have recently attempted to install a custom ROM on my Xperia U . I rooted using bin4ry , then unlocked bootloader. Everything was fine up to that point. Then I tried to use RecoverX to install CWM. The tool said it was a success, but device could not boot into recovery. It looked like the tool did nothing. I then found a custom kernel by AOKP that had CWM Recovery in it. I flashed and got recovery , but stuck in bootloop. I recovered from this by flashing B.10 stock firmware on my Xperia U using flashtools. I am now looking for ways to install CWM recovery safely.
What's the best way to install CWM in my current situation?
What caused the bootloop I experienced(out of curiosity)?

AOKP is not stock rom..
so its kernel is also not based n stok rom...thats why you got bootloop...
just download kernel which is based on sock rom like trancsend kernek...or phantom...
if you have jb then experimenatal kernel will be best....
and use flashtool to flash kernel...it is the easiest way to flash kernel..
all this kernels are prerooted and has cwm 6.x.x recovery.....
you will get this kernels in devlopment section....
Thank you!
Got it working!
I started off by installing transcendence kernel for stock ROMs. That went flawlessly and so I was presented with CWM recovery(which I started by repeatedly pressing Vol- when the transcendence logo comes up). Went to look for a ROM and found MIUI v4 for Xperia U, followed the instructions and flashed with CWM recovery.Very beautiful ROM. I got all my files from the Xperia U Development section.
Thanks for your help and a big thank you to the developers who make this possible. highfive:

Most kernels nowadays have light notification or vibration or borh for the time you need to press the volume button for cwn, if yours does you only need to press it once within 3 seconds.
