1) Good.
2) Of course.
3) It doesn't have a heating problem, it's the game you're running that could be demanding.
4) Good & kind of good.

and what about S2's burn-in problem ?
Come again?

Hi SGS2 owners and experts. Im new here and a proud new Galaxy s 2 owner now. Im quite android savvy coming from the Spica development from Samdroid. I'v got a brand new GS2 on contract and wondering if the things I'v been experiencing are normal.
Battery life is only 14 hours with light usage and 3g, GPS and bluetooth turned off.
Phone gets warm around the camera sometimes, watching video and browsing the web.
Battery gets warm while charging.
Wifi reception is horrible.
Front facing camera is laggy.
Thats all I would like to know if its normal or should I take my phone back for new one.
Its running on Samsung firmware, gingerbread 2.3.4 XXKI1

And my device is the same the top left of the screen gets worm when multi tasking when the weather was cold i didnt feel it
But now after its summer i can feel my device getting worm abd hot when playing hd games
For battary mmm it gets little worm when charging
But if u use ur device while charging it will get hot ofc

Front facing camera yes its laggy
My advice update ur firmware or use custom kernel it will make ur battary and heat little bit better

yup all is normal an giv the phone some time to settle like charge and dischsrge cycle...and flash diff kernel an c which suits u.
Ya it's a bit weird to see people still on GB and not on ICS, but for sure update to latest update on GB (or try ICS).
As ayhamx360 said - try a good custom ROM. Look for one that has a lot of users and help. Check what bugs there are and anything else that's important to you (like battery life, heat, camera, wifi, etc).
PS
Most smart phones only last a day and need charging daily... it's the nature of their screens and other hardware excelerations. Newer phones will be coming with better tech that hopefully can consume less energy.
*That being said, with the right tweaks and kernels it can lost longer - mine is usually good for 1 day and 8-14hrs (1.5 days).
Your battery life seems low, but you may need a couple of cycles to get a more realistic idea.
Never had any of the other problems you mention.
I'd try XXLA4 - either stock or as part of a custom ROM. It's very stable.
Thanks for the advice. I sure feel better now. Thought I had a dud phone. Yeah I'm waiting to update ICS via Kies but old sammy hasn't released the update in South Africa yet. My phone is a little new to me to start messing around with custom ROMs like I did with my Spica. I'l prob switch to Cyanogen 9 when its stable.

I remember having much of this when I first got my S2, poor battery life, phone gets hot around camera (the cpus are located behind it) warm whilst charging and although wifi reception was never an issue, it would drop the connection if left idle for short periods of time, (sleep policy was set to off), most these will subside once you've updated to the latest firmware version, especially the heating up, and battery life will improve once the battery has been properly cycled.

Hey all! Is the Z Ultra still worth buying today? It has one of the best displays around, its design is not matched and it is half the price than when it was released which is around 300$ now.
But here is my dilema, at 300$ there are small tablets like the galaxy tab S 8.4 and others with great screens and battery life to compete. With that said my biggest concern which led me to consider other devices is the mixed review I got on battery life. But there is no great place to ask except ZU veterans
IS IT THAT BAD?? I do reading and watch occasional videos with average of 4hrs of screen on time with 3g/4g constantly browsing and downloading/uploading. Can't it handel that?
Are the days of the Z Ultra over or does it have some fight in it to compete?? I am all ears to listen to what you all got to say.
Thanks in advance!

Previously on Kitkat I would get around 4.5 hours of screen on time.
Now I'm getting around 2 hours on Lollipop...

Thanks for relying kanej2006.
Wow 2hrs is ridiculous. Is it under heavy usage like high graphiics games and such or foe simply texting and phone calls? I want to buy it badly but that is not unacceptable for me....

Some wi-fi usage and web browsing. However, this was done whilst the screen was at full brightness.
I'd say Kitkat was better for battery life. Should you be patient, Lolipop 5.1 will be released for the Xperia Z Ultra sometime in February.
Bugs and stability/performance and battery should all be improved.

Normally with every device i have used, i havent been able too see anything while outside. If i turn the brightness up, i can read and see everything fine. The phone has the latest android lollipop, and does have a good display with some still very good specs, i havent found anything that does not run perfectly. With lollipop, this thing just flys. My battery life is around 5 hours with very heavy usage, that is because i am always watching videos, or playing games, searching the web, etc. With light to medium usage this lasts me easily all day and then sone. I have unlimited 4g LTE and stream movies all the time, it works great.

Thanks for replying theinsector!
Ive been asking around and am getting roughly the same answers. 5-6hrs on heavy usage which is good news for me, and with some tweaks and mods things will get even better I hear, which makes it that much great. With the visibility issue, if setting the brightness at maximum will do the trick, then i have no complaints. I rarely use it in bright daylight but I don't want to squint and stress my eyes when I do. thanks again!
Question: August 2015 - is sony ultra z still relevant today for its price? The camera has been a dissapointment to me. I am thinking of selling off and getting similar price phone but with better camera. I don't need big screen, I have since discovered..

I just rebought the device. I have the nexus 6 and I went back to the Z ultra for the third time. I'm running bliss pop w expanded desktop and resized the screens on the launcher and no dock w slim pie. Camera is a disappointment sure. But I love the design, love the size, and still zips through without any issues.

Hello xda-Community,
currently I am using CyanogenMod and I have big battery problems. For example: I watch YouTube for like ~30 minutes, the display flickers and my S3 turns off. However, I am looking for a battery saving ROM+Kernel for my Samsung Galaxy S III i9300. I used the search function, but I only found old threads: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/general/fast-battery-saving-stable-rom-s3-t1980380

Hi
I am Nexus 4 user - great phone with lot of great ROMs available here, great performance and good size - but battery is no longer big enough to match my needs. So I am looking for a new phone and ran into Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro.
There is a lot of positive comments about this device, but also quite a lot of drawbacks - no 800MHZ band, problems with microphone/speaker, some battery performance issues... So, is there any better choice in that kind of money? I am looking for something with big battery to be able to do something more than 2-2,5h of WEB vieweing... I am not playing games, apps that I am using are not really demanding ones. My other thought is Asus Zenfone Max - but Redmi Note 3 PRO looks much better while comparing some statistics.
So, any other thoughts? I would be grateful for all responses and advices
If you need 800mhz try: http://www.geekbuying.com/item/-HK-...OTG-Fast-Charge-Gyroscope---Black-367828.html
I have no issues with battery or speaker. 800mhz isn't the end of the world unless you 100% need it
If you can live without 800mhz and bad low light camera, nothing can beat this device value. Battery and performance is among the best you can get today.
I never have those mic/speaker/battery/performance issues.
Hello, I received my RN3 Pro yesterday and I have to say it's freakin amazing. A definite upgrade from Nexus 4(I came from a Moto G2, and before that Nexus 4). I charged it to 100% yesterday and it gave me 7.5hrs SOT till 1pm today, which is frankly mind blowing for two reasons,
1) More than 4hrs SOT ftw
2) I played around 1hr of Pokemon go ( continuously uses 3G and GPS) and still managed 7hrs sot.
So yes, you'll easily get >3hrs of web viewing. The one issue I found however is that the phone makes a hissing sound when connected to AUX cable, many people have this problem and are saying it's software related, so maybe there will be a fix. Secondly on very low volume with earphones,(step 1-3) you can hear a noticeable hissing sound which I'm pretty sure is software related, but it's not a deal breaker. The drawback of the Asus I feel is that there's no rom support, not as good specs as the RN3. RN3 has a snapdragon 650 which is basically an improved version of last year's flagship SoC. Also, build quality is amazing on the RN3. MIUI is a great feature packed rom!
So basically I definitely recommend the RN3, the battery life is going to definitely make you very happy
Yes definitely, its a beast and even I came from mako to this phone .I've to say I'm amazed by its battery and performance.really so fast the custom ROM development is awesome for this phone.. definitely a good choice to buy this phone for such a low cost..!
Thank You very much for all answers
Yeah, I think I can live without 800mhz, for taking good photos in every occasion I have other more specialized devices
I just ordered 2/16 version
Hello,
Please forgive me if this is placed in the wrong forum.
Anyone bought the Vernee Apollo (NON-light)?
I did, and so far I'm not pleased. The battery is very, very poor. The camera does not feel like a 21mpx Sony and the OS feels slow.
Does anyone know if there is any development on a custom rom? Tried searching Google and XDA. (This is not a request).
What are your experiences of this phone?
Regards,
The phone itself looks great and for 250 bucks, i think the camera is okay. in good light conditions it taks good photos and the new update improved the ingerprint sensor a lot. the battery life is poor but if you charge your phone for half an our in the afternoon you will get over the day. i dont experience a slow os, it feels really fast. overall i like the phone but a very disappointing issue that i have is that it disconnects from mobile network while in standyby. i cant receive calls or messages until i reboot my apollo.
Vernee apollo /non lite /
hi ... anyone knows how to root this device ?
Vernee apollo
HI,
I got my Vernee Apollo just yesterday and to be honest even though phone has a good built, I am not quite impress by the functions of it. The vibration option in my opinion doesn't work so great it gives the phone a very cheap feel. To be honest it sounds like it is vibrating but doesn't feel that way. Display is good not stellar with the VR headset tho. But I guess for the price it is not bad. However usd$250.00 is like TT$1700.00 so which makes it a big deal for me. I am yet to see how it stands up as time goes by. I however had some hiccups on the first day. The went into boot-loader mode by mistake but i was like a headless chicken because everything was in Chinese sighs but I manage to get out i am hoping everything runs smoothly from here tho. :fingers-crossed:

After about 2 months of use, I have to say that I don't recommend this phone at all. Keep in mind that I am using the phone with the MadOS 7.1 and not the original rom. I have two main issues but they are both important. The first issue is the battery, it is not powerful at all and this is not the problem at all. Vernee lied that the phone has a battery of 3500mah battery but the battery capacity is actually ~3100mah. The major problem that I faced is that the battery sensor. The battery can go from 20% to 80% in seconds and as you can imagine it can do the opposite as well. The battery readings are not accurate at all. The second problem is the 3G-4G connectivity. For some reason sometimes the phone is slow in connecting to the 3G-4G network, which is pretty disturbing. The overall performance is pretty good for me, I didn't face any lags.
