I am facing a very strange ram usage in the forground apps when I have reflashed the stock ics it was like this

I would try two things, one is to clear the cache and the other is reoptimize the SQLite database. If the lagging starts after a few days it is probably the cache, but if it takes longer than this it is probably the SQLite database. The easiest way to fix these things is with init.d scripts so that they happen on every reboot. There are also a bunch of scripts or apps that you can also install that will also do these for you. Something like the V6 supercharger of Pimp-my-ROM will probably let you do both.

Thanks for replay , i was thinking that it's an app that is goning to be launched but but it probably doesn't so i tested the apps one by one an then i figured out that it was because of android.process.acore related to contacts , when launched in background it reduces ram in foreground and if killed it increases ram usage in foreground so no solution its amount of ram usage is always used if in background or foreground :/

There are lots of ways to optimize the SQlite database. It is often installed as an init.d script as part of a tweak/mod package. For example both the V6 supercharger and the Thunderbolt packages can be used to install a SQlite cleaner. I think there are also stand alone apps that will do it for you for ex: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1268522 I also think that something like sd maid from the play store also has the option for cleaning up the SQlite database. Look for SQlite vacuuming or SQlite defragging and a lot of things should pop up .

OK, I dont know where to look for help more.
I search the forum, all x10 roms and help treads even on the other forums also post some message in my rom (WB) treads nobody knows how to fix this or gives me advice that didnt work.
I got a fc on google maps almost every time i turn it on only reboot helps it works few minutes but when i need it again i get the FC i tried wait until maps around my position loads (but i thik i dont have to it should work).
I didnt have this problem few months ago. Im using still the same Wolf's 4.0.4 rom. I tried update to v5 (battery drain) and v6b7 (newest) still the same problem.
I did few times repair in PC Companion root, xrec, erase (full wipe) every thing i could even sd card every time i do a clean install, also again clean Dalvic Cache, reinstal the app i tried everything really.
It happend before i unlocked BL and after it, on stock and on custom kernels.
Navigation runs well but the maps... im so frustrated.
Got no fc on stock but i cant live with the stock se system any more.
Any advice?
(Moderators if there is something wrong with the tread let me know do not delete it)

Yes i did still fc, once i run stock for a half for a day no fc's then i flash custom still 4.0.4 and there was no fc but got to try some apps and system was slow so i make a clean install again and fc came back
Make backup and try other ROMs,like freexperia or stock with zKernel.Maybe is ROM,or kernel.

Try stock with zKernel,just remove stupid se apps,i score 1598 pts in Quadrant Advanced.Its fast,stable and beautiful.

Just root ur phone first,install root explorer from market,with it u can delete se apps.Apps are in system/app,find list of apps that u can delete,make backup of all apps in that folder(copy apps someware on sd card) and delete unnecesary apps.Link for kernel:

Its OCed to 1.13 ghz,less laggy than stock.I tried other ROMs but this combination is the best,most stable and fastest for me.

I tried install theGo12 rom but still force close on the maps :/
I like to have sortcuts on my desktop so I always install those apk from arc: http://forum.se-x10.pl/topics36/widzety-wyciagniete-z-xperii-x10-arc-update1-vt2275.htm but only turn on/off widgets for wifi, bt, not all of them etc.
When i install new rom maps are going great but after go sms, fancy widget, opera, evernote and few reboots i get fc :/ this is so fu***n annoying
older version of google maps (v 5.*) is working fine.
newest google maps v6 is not working properly on my x10 +cm7 (both fxp052 rom and achotjan v4.1)

i have the same effekt, on FXP, maps 6.x
killing maps in settings (instead of rebooting) helps to render the phone useable again.
maps 5 seems not to have this effect.
I always did a reboot, fact it helps but it is so annoying. GM v5.0 is **** so have to try stock with zkernel we will see.

Prerequisites
1.You must have /system/etc/init.d
2.You must have sd-ext partition
3.You should not have any a2sd or any other such script like darktremor or link2sd installed.You must uninstall them or delete them from /system/etc/init.d folder
Installation
1.Extract the zip.Copy 40ad2sdx into /system/etc/init.d
2.Change permissions to rwxrwxrwx inroot explorer(or adb chmod 777)
3.Reboot
4.Be patient...it may take 5 minutes or more to boot for the first time after copying the script as the script copies and symlinks the apps between sdext and /data.
5.That's it. No apps or terminal required!

The secret is in the method of symlinking.
Darktremor/s2e do not distinguish between system apps and 3rd party apps ...so decrease performance.
For me with about 80 applications darkrtremor a2sd system had become slow but with amarulz a2sdx system performance was like when I did not have apps.
This is the explanation by amarulz:
Another advantage -No app or terminal setup required. Just paste,give permission,reboot and you are done.

It works fine for me.There is nothing in the script which is dangerous provided you do not have any other a2sd script in init.d. Only you have to find those scripts in init.d. The rest is just copying and giving permissions.Took me just 2 minutes.

try modified script by alex-v . it's also move dalvik cache to ext
Another information :
-Your phone already rooted
-Better use this script before you install any apllication (fresh rom) except root browser/explorer or terminal to copying or change script permission.

What rom are you running? I'm running Stock Lite v6 and when I copy the file, set the permissions and reboot it just hangs and keeps hanging
it just slows my device

The app data or launcher settings are restored to default after using this ... to bad.
Before applying this i need to delete a2sd init.d scripts, u also need to delete a2sdgui correct?

I migrate my s2 all about 740 apps into the new galaxy s3,and then I reboot s3 to go into the apps folder using brief mode to view all the apps like the second picture as follows,and I find slip down or up lag vey much,I find when installed about 200 apps will cause this issue,and I go to the settings->sound->auto haptic will be forced closed,the same go to the settings->application manager will be forced closed too,or maybe into the downloaded apps list and slip down or up lag vey much also,go to the settings-> language and input will dely about 3 seconds to get in,and I compare the s2 and s3 with the same 740 apps installed to boot to the desktop speed,s2 is faster than s3 very much,and compare the cwm backup time to backup into internal /mnt/sdcard folder is the same,finally compare to create /data folder into tar with gzip using root explorer ,the create speed of s2 is faster than s3 also,I have try to flash any kernel & ROM to solve the issues on board is useless till now,below is the titanium backup 700 apps download url,anyone interested can download using titanium backup to restore hundred apps to test it....
s2 rooted SiyahKernel v2.6.14 cwm 5.5.0.4/ stock firmware -> gb 2.3.3 zskf4
s3 rooted SiyahKernel s3 v1.0 cwm 5.5.0.4/ stock firmware -> zsaled

Actually I often used only 10 apps,about 740 apps,The main reason is I have the collection hobby,the second reson is the smart phone is very Expensive need to the best use of,the third is the google play store is full of tens of thousands of apps,I don't want to waste time to look for the good apps when I need to use,so when others say what apps is good to use then I will download it to install,I create 16 folders on destop to classify each apps belong in order to find to use quickly like the picture as follows,and I will use the autostarts apps to do the startup manager jobs to control apps do not take up too much memory, as time goes by I got used to,everything is going fine when I use galaxy S2,everything is smooth,faster,quickly,until I migrate my S2 to S3 the nightmare as I described first is coming...which master can fix these issues...plz...
actually, you can delete those apps you dont really need thru root explorer (or counterpart) but be careful to do it. Below is the attached guide for the apps' use & functions.

I'll try it....Thanks for your information......but I think this is the bug of settings.apk /odex ,and touchwiz UI,as to the cwm backup Performance is poor,may be the problem of cross partition read & write becoz S3 use the new technology to merge the capacity of /data & /mnt/sdcard...
back to report,I solve two problems,one is the cwm 5.5.0.4 v 1.5 backup time performance is not good,I use the official touch version cwm 5.8.4.3 the backup performance improved Several times than cwm 5.5.0.4,and another is apps folder using brief mode to slip down or up lag vey much,I downgrade the touchwiz UI to the modded TouchWiz 4 for ICS then all the smoothly...
The remaining are two forced closed problems,I think that is settings.apk /odex need to tuning...maybe others release soon ...

Honestly, what you need, if you like to play games, is another phone. This obviously depends on what type of games you are trying to run, but between the single core processor, a weaker GPU, and very small amount of RAM as well as being on Gingerbread, there just won't be much to do.
Your best bet, to help a little, will be to either install a custom kernel and / or a custom rom that will have some performance optimizations. You might want to head over to the forum for your phone and read up on how others are enjoying the mods to see if they would work for you.

So i just got one used and I'm noticing the ram meter never goes above 4g, my apps get restarted frequently when i open more than 6 , and there's an "s pen" section in advanced setting, which doesn't make sense. Does anyone else experience the same thing ? Or did i get one with crappy custom rom and should return immediately ?

I think this device has a custom ROM installed, that's why you have such issues.
maybe wrong custom rom on wrong device download letest stock firmware of ur device nd flash it. then everything will be ok

but before i go through with all the hassles , i just wanna know if anyone with the same phone, on stock rom, get to use all the available ram ? ( or at least most, ideal for me would be 500mb free left so i can multitask to my heart's content ).
currently i have 1.8g just sitting there doing absolutely nothing, while my apps get killed. if stock rom doesnt change that then i'll just dump this and get something with 8g ram
i use this device G965U modal , nd if u buy any device there will be always around 40% ram used without installed any app by yourself cause of preloaded app nd also there's always system reserved memory around 500mb in 6 gb ram modals

i'm not trying to get more free ram, but rather the opposite . i want to fill 6g as much as possible but its not letting me.

the 1.9g available is what i want to use but cant
i hv around 2.5 gb ram always free (installed apps on my device- 5 games pubg, walking dead s1 nd other 3 small game 500mb each, nd big ram eater apps like FB ,Mssenger, tiktok, Instagram. first tell me r u using all these apps or may be its cause of installed rom problm . add a screenshot of ur device info from 》 . settings-about nd another screenshot of your software info

i hv around 2.5 gb ram always free (installed apps on my device- 5 games pubg, walking dead s1 nd other 3 small game 500mb each, nd big ram eater apps like FB ,Mssenger, tiktok, Instagram. first tell me r u using all these apps or may be its cause of installed rom problm . add a screenshot of ur device info from 》 . settings-about nd another screenshot of your software info

yes this is when im opening all of my work related apps. i also want to open youtube or reddit sometimes without reloading any of the apps before them. 6g supposes to let me do that, but it doesnt
do you have to reload any app with that much free ram ?
i normally dont use lots of apps together , but sometime i use 4-6 app without reload during switching apps. but there r some apps nd games if i hold them for long time in task bar or in background they need to start again ... which modal is ur device??

mine is G965N running custom rom. can you try out an experiment for me ? open about 10 apps then quickly switch between them to see if any has to reload. also see whats you maximum ram usage is. many thanks
