Hi, I'm using Desire X and my power button doesn't work very well. Can I set to wake up a screen when I press volume button?

Try rooting
then use button remapper app (google it).
I think it should work.
Its just what i did on my old phone, so havent tested on this. However be careful while doing it.

I have root it. I searched in setting, but there are no option for it. I tried some apps which I found on market, but even they are not working.
Isn't there just some dust between the power button en the housing?

When I remove mask, it works fine. I think its problem with power button on mask. But how to fix it, without buying a new one?

The power button can be taken off the cover / mask as seen in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzRsLDahWVg.
Don't know though if it is possible to put the button back after removing it..
Thanks, but I'm not sure should I try this.

Was that really called for?

I don't think so. The okay is the power button..... At least on the Vibrant. On other phones it's the okay or enter button on the keyboard but never the home or back buttons. As a matter of fact the back button does what it's supposed to. Just my 2 cents.

The OP might be screwed at this point. Unless you can remap the keys in recovery?

Dude, did you not read his entire post or do you just not understand ebonics?
HIS POWER BUTTON IS GONE!!! If you have ever flashed a rom before with clockworkmod, you would know that the "Power" button is the Ok button, which he doesn't have anymore.

Have you done anything to the file systems? Do you think it will still boot with just a hard reset? You can reset if its been rooted with adb. Do you have the sdk installed on your computer? If not, install the android sdk from the code.google site, and find an adb tutorial on this forum with the search tool..

I can 100% fix this for you. I have a few extra buttons in stock. If you send me the phone, I can solder you on a brand new one. You are not screwed...
Just PM me if you are interested....

In his vid he took a screenshot holding the power and vol down, that didn't work for me at all. I can still take a screenshot using the old method, power and home button...odd.

Mine has never worked that way from what i recall. I had the EVO 3D and took so many screen captures by accident. Ive just always used the Home, and power button.
I'm facing the problem of rebooting of phone due to very long press(5-7 sec) of power button. The power button just randomly get pressed and then the mobile reboots. I remapped the power button with volume buttons but still the power button long press cannot be remapped.
Any fix and thoughts please!

Hi!
Does someone know about this feature?
I was very excited when i found it
Now want to share it with you.
Yes to activate just hold the volume down button.
I really wonder why peole don't know about it)))
It's cool feature, but useless, because quality of pictures is low(
I hope LG will add new features to our smartphone after the g3:highfive:

Woah :/ never seen that before... Anyone know how he did that?
I'm thinking it's the same as just holding the volume down rocker to activate camera, but with the quick view case.
Yeah I knew it, it's an awesome feature, sadly no video rec haha.
