Dont play too many intensive games, and if you have a cover take it off to let it breathe

Hi all,
I've been using the PadFone since the release date. After the new update (9.18.8.41) I noticed the PadFone starts heating up when playing games (any game), with other applications it'll be fine.
Is anyone else having this problem too? Trying to narrow down if it's just my device or the update.
Cheers

It was not heating up before the update. I played let say Big Win Soccer before the update it was fine. After the update playing it will overheat the phone causing it to switch itself off.
I think it's normal
each one of my current and previous Android phones used to heatup when I play games or HD content!! I currently own GNex and it's the master of heat

Did it heat up to the point where the phone switches off? This is after about 10-20minutes of gameplay
because it dont have custom firmware or custom kernal, that's the problems
Hello guys, I'm having a very weird issue with the 4.2.1 stock firmware (it only has root).
My phone boots up normally, but after a couple of hours or even a day, by some reason the background image gets screwed up on the top it like you can check on the images and also my battery starts to drain (it shows up huge consumption on "Android OS"). After the graphic issue the only temporary solution is a reboot... any ideas? I've flashed the rom twice and it keeps coming back... can this be a software (app) related problem? Or do you think it is a bug from the actual rom since it is still a leak?
Tks
that's a known bug in the leak
damn it... I was thinking that it was but couldn't find it on google or XDA...
you mean both things right? drain + graphical issue?
tks for your reply!
Better to wait for the officia 4.2.1update from Samsung,
OR there will be ANDROID 4.3 with CM10.2.. vote for GSIII

Howdy,
I recently had my phone repaired.
I was running Anono ROM before it died. No issue on that ROM cool as a cucumber. I try another Sammy Base ROM and my phone now heats up during lightweight tasks. I installed an AOKP ROM and I had to shut my phone off or risk it melting.
I'm confused on why it overheats. I'm not charging or playing games. I call someone and it becomes ridiculously hot. Even looking at images on my SD card. What in the world is going on?
Take it back to where you had it repaired, sounds like the motherboard is faulty or the phone hasn't been properly assembled.
I'll contact the engineer and talk to him.
Why dont you try to install a stock rom first and test if the problem continue. I experience the same issue once and it was rom related problem.
Stock is fine, all 4.1.2 Sammy based ROMs fine. Only happens on 4.2.2 ROMs.
have you
Have you tryed another battery?

It's only in 4.2.2 leaks and it's a known issue.
That solves the problem. Thanks.

My Samsung Galaxy SII Heats up a lot in my pocket and gets switched off automatically. It Heats up too much. If any one of you have expierienced such issue then please give your suggestions !
My phone goes up to 50C, but never turned off tho.
You can try installing KH3 modem, as I saw some people said it fixed their overheat problem. I just installed it now and will see how it goes.
Yours,
Amiroslo
Look at whats running in the background. bbs will help aswell. Modem shouldnt really make much difference.
Heating issue
Its a common issue amonf S2 i9100..i guess its one of many issues discussed over this forum..
1. It can happen because of a Kernel that u have installed that is not going with ur ROM.
2. It could be due to some app that is sucking up your battery and intun causing heating in ur processor..i mean some game..weather widget..Etc..
I would suggest that u can browse thru this forum for the solutions that fit u best..
i think its a kernel or some latest App that u have installed latest..as problem 4 sure..
I am having S2 with ASNET MIUI V5 3.7.19 now and b4 tried several ROMS..When ever this heating stuff happened it was only when i played heavy games or while on wifi or data usage..dat too heating was very minimal..battery temp never crossed 44 degree Celsius..
please chk on the latest apps or widgets that are running in background in ur mobile..it ll probably help u in identifying the issue..
Hope it helps u in some way.
Cheers mate :good::good:

Hi guys i have a ??? What is the maximun temp running s2 sorry mh bad english
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
About 90c will kill it mine runs at 60c quite a bit.
Mostly it is the Media scanner issue of heat up. The major culprit of jb roms. I am too fed up of this media scanner.
4.2.2 has been reported to have it resolved. Still ages away for our s2.
Well My S2 does the same, I think its the only drawback of samsung galaxy s2 i9100
Flash media scaner fix. Mine heats up from what I do with it. For me heat is normal.
Andrew what do you do for it to sit at 60?
Sent from a galaxy far, far away
Downloading many roms. Dont sit at 60c all the time. Some games push it too. Normal running its at 20-30c
Hi, guys
I'm having a problem with my S6 edge(g925f), its keep rebooting randomly, I tried a couple of different things:
-installing the latest software with Odin
-Installing a NobbleROM
-Hacker kernel and decreasing the a53 to 900mhz
nothing really helped me...
Can someone of you suggest me a different solution?
p.s I don't have a warranty
Thank you in advanced!

Have you tried a wake lock app and set to level 4? Should stop the reboots but battery may be a bit worse

I had the same problem on my s6 edge and note 4. And to be honest the only thing that fixed it for me was replacing the batteries. It's not exactly cheap to replace the s6 battery but it did stop the reboots. Just a suggestion. Are you rooted or do you have warranty?

Ahh I was going to suggest a custom ROM but I see you have tried already noble ROM.
Have you tried stock firmware with full wipe data and cache? To rule out if it's an app causing the reboots?
Also you can try to disable auto optimization for all apps in battery settings, I've read numerous times on here that it helps.
Also you can try with greenify and Lspeed from plays store. Both need root but there are settings to tweak within Lspeed which helps.
