[Q] Wrong angle on back camera? - Xperia Tablet Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just wonder what angel the back camera (screen side) should have. On my sg321 in horisontal mode i have to tilt the top slightly towards me and this is the oposite of what any angle should be if any. In vertical, it will tilt slightly one or the other way ant this is quite anoying. Is this supposed to be right? Neutral angle/position would be more correct than this.

I actually have a crooked screen

My SGS2 screen tilts SLIGHTLY to the right. Once I started to notice this I see this every time I use the phone, and it's getting very annoying.
Is someone else experiencing the same problem? Is this something you would send the phone in to service because of?
Can you provide a photo of your phone showing the problem?
I know of no software issue that causes this (there is a Google Egg that hangs the phone screen output slightly to the right).
It sounds like you could have a hardware screen issue but it would have to be showing on all screens, be that the Home screen or when running any Apps/Games.
I don't know if you can see it. If you look at the bottom of the screen it might be noticeable to you. It's the same way in every screen, so I think it's a hardware problem. It tilts slightly to the right.
Sorry, I can't see any tilt from that photo.
I also measured the angle of the bottom edge of the screen and the Home button.
They are both in alignment with each other.
When the screen is switched off you should see the outlining edge of the display.
Now when you switch on the screen does it fit to this?
It seems to be that to whole frame is is a BIT crooked. I don't know how I can show this accurately when it doesn't show that much.
Are you sure it's not your eyes deceiving you?
Try taking a few more shots (close in at the bottom) and then load the shots up on your PC and look closer...... Try and measure the angle against say the bottom of the phone to see if there is any discrepancy.

I've been staring at the photo for like one minute now. And I don't see it. Maybe if you go closer with the camera?
I can see it the top leans to the right, like the frame is not correct. defo faulty
Out of curiosity, has anyone tried using a ruler? Or a measuring tape (like the free paper ones you get at Ikea if you are afraid of scratching it).
I just did a measurement of my screen to the edge of the outside bezel... Starting from bottom to top..
Bottom from both corners of the screen to the outside bottom bezel: 1.55cm +/- 0.025cm
Bottom of both sides of screen to the outside bezel: 0.45cm +/- 0.025cm
Top of both sides of screen to the outside bezel: 0.45cm +/- 0.025cm
Top from both corners of the screen to the outside top bezel: 1.55cm +/- 0.025cm
Never knew this before, but the screen is dead center of the phone..
I also took a measurement of the diagonal: 4 1/4" or 10.25cm +/- 0.025cm
Height: 9.30cm +/- 0.025cm (both sides)
width: 5.55cm +/- 0.025cm (top & bottom)
My Galaxy S II is perfectly aligned.. I do admit though, after you said it, I felt it was crooked... That's why I ended up taking the above measurements --

Left and right camera sensor different color tint

Can someone verify if their 3vo's are showing this? Use MPO2JPEGS from this toolbox:

My left sensor seems better in general. The right one appears SLIGHTLY less focused and has a greenish hue.
I've noticed a difference in tint but it isn't consistent. Seems to be worse inside with flash. One thing I've noticed is that on mine, the left camera seems to expose a little brighter than the right (see attached and note: this image is set up for cross-viewing so the left and right images are swapped). Looks like HTC needs to do an update which consolidates the white balance and exposure between the left/right sensors, either before the picture is taken or in processing (before it is saved to the sd card).
As far as focus, make sure both lenses are clean. I thought one of mine focused better than the other until I cleaned them both. Then they seemed about the same.

Another short review

Size:
I've had it for a few weeks now, and I no longer feel the size of it. It almost feels like I might choose an even bigger one next time! But this is definately gonna be my daily driver for the next two years.
The back button is very hard to reach when I've got the phone in my right hand. Left-handed use is good, though.Sits nicely in the pocket of my jeans.
Chassis:
The front is gorgous, almost no bezel at all. I thought I would dislike capacative buttons, but they are no problem. The hole for the front camera is not perfectly aligned.
The back gets quite smudgy.
The power and volume buttons are so petite, they took some getting used to.
I don't like the placement of the audiojack and USB. If the audio was on the bottom I would be able to slip it into my pocket without changing my grip, but no go.
Call quality:
Yup, it's an issue. I'm gonna try to change my grip when I experience it.
Resolution:
Perfect for my eyes. I can not distinguish individual pixels.
Screen:
Very good colours and brightness. Blacks are always poor on LCD's, including this one.
Battery life:
Lasts me two days. Perfect.
I've come to believe that this:
The hole for the front camera is not perfectly aligned
is purposeful. There's some "lip" around the top portion of the hole, probably to help the light pattern in use patterns for front-facing cameras.
Now if you say that your "lip" is around the left, right, or bottom, *then* we have an issue . But I'm guessing yours is on the top also.
This is the first I'm hearing about the camera not being aligned... In practice, it works perfectly, and these things are designed with micrometers or even smaller units of measure: I don't think that misalignment is something that is likely to happen.

Yeah, the "lip" as you call it is on top of the hole, so I guess it's the same for everyone, and I'm prolly never gonna use the front camera anyways.

Can colour of back cover affect the quality of photo?

Hello,
i am going to buy SXS just because of camera. And i know it is ridiculus, but i got an idea if white back cover of phone cant make photo too bright. Because the sun´s rays are all reflected from white back cover and it can lower the quality of photo by adding a too much light there. However black back cover absorb the sun´s rays, which are not subsequently reflected from cover.
I know that the rays are not reflected from cover straight into lens (it is not possible), but even though i rather ask you people what do you think about that. Dont treat me like a fool, i am just a person who is deciding whether to buy white or black SXS.
All in all, it is crazy theory perhaps. If it was as i say, mobile companies wouldnt make white mobiles. But can you tell me your opinion? I will appreciate it. Thanks.
It's a Joke isnt it??????
No need to worry. There is no way any reflected light can get in the lens. From the inside everything is shielded properly. The covers are quite solid, I doubt light would be able to penetrate it.
So no, the photo quality on the white and black one isn't different. It'll be exactly the same. Which means you just take whichever you consider prettiest
They're not talking about reflect sun light into lenses.
The effect here is with exposure and how black and white color reacts under sunny or artificial light.

Depth sensing camera misaligned?

When I looked closely at the second depth sensing camera on the back of my phone, I noticed that the sensor is located slightly to the left of the vertical line below it. I also noticed that whenever I use the foreground effect, the outlines are always offset to the left in portrait mode and either up or down depending on which orientation landscape mode is in. Does anyone else have this problem with their HTC One? Should I contact HTC to replace mine? I am going to be using this phone for 4 years so I want it to be in the best possible condition.
Same here, htc m8 from UK o2. Just noticed this today.
