Hello,
I'm new to Android, just got the phone yesterday.
AT&T Optimus G E970
Rooted and unlocked (Freegee)
TWRP 2.6.
Vanilla RootBox (unofficial, houstonn), stock theme and settings unchanged for now.
gapps signed 7.10.13
smoocha kernel
Phone is stable and running fine. Issue I have is the red led light around the power button. It never turns off when the phone is on and it never stops blinking when phone is off.
Is there a way to fix this?

Menu > settings > display > pulse notification light. Make sure it's unchecked. If so, try toggling on/off.

Thank you!
Edit: seemed it would work but red light is back. Ugh.

Might be caused by smoocha. I haven't run that kernel in quite a while...the toggle is working with houstonn's stock kernel.

I can confirm that it's an issue with the smoocha kernel.

Thanks for the quick replies!
Any hints on how to revert back to Houstonn's kernel or do I need to reflash his rom?
- Like to not lose the settings I had just spent the day configuring, discovering, learning.
Edit: Nevermind, already did a restore of the 4.1.2 OTA and reflashed, thanks for the help though

For future reference, to go back to stock kernel on just about any ROM, you can dirty flash it over itself... Just clear cache and dalvik. You won't lose any apps or settings, except kernel settings.

Hi!
I'm using a recent CM9 nightly with default kernel.
I would like to have your opinion : about 3/4 a week my SGS3 is "stuck" when it's locked : impossible to wake up using home or power button, the screen stays black.
The weird thing is that when it happens, the phone is not frozen : I can still hear music on the headphones and control volume using Up/Down buttons.
Sometimes I let it stuck and receive a notification some minutes later and the phone magically can be unlocked again, screen wakes when I push Home button.
Very weird and annoying when that happens.
My question is : what do you think it could be? An app? How can I debug this and know what prevents the screen to wake up when that happens?
Thanks.

Thanks, but is that the kind of easy answer you all tell when you don't know the exact answer?
When I installed CM9 a week ago, I did do a full wipe...
I think that next time it happens, I will try to connect my SGS3 on USB and do a adb logcat, maybe I'll find useful information.
Have you tinkered with any of the could settings or voltage settings?

Having a similar problem to yourself. Installed CM9 rom had a play and then went back to omegaV9 performing a full wipe using the instructions on this site before reflashing.
Since then when my phone is locked screen off then i unlock either via swipe or using security code (digits ) it looks like the phone unlocks but sort of does a warm boot with black screen for a few seconds with the two buttons down the bottom light up.
When it starts it looks like all the apps have stopped and are restarting again.
I re flashed again omega 9 thought i had it sorted but it started playing up again this evening.
If anyone has any ideas please post..
Hi, I'm a newbie here. I also exprience this problem with my samsung GT-i9300. I hoping to see a fix with this problem.

Hey,
if it happens again, type *#0*# and click on LED. It will test your LED, you only have to click on the screen to change the color. After three colours, it is tested. If you can't activate the call LED in settings, try to reset or reflash your phone!

The best way to reset ya phone is to go in to your Stock Recovery ( Vol. Up + Home Button + Sleep/Wake). There you have to choose "wipe data/factory reset" with "Vol. Down Button". Confirm with the "Sleep/Wake Button". Now you have to confirm that you want to wipe your phone. Use the "Vol. Down Button" again, choose something like "Yes, wipe all
users" and confirm with "Sleep/Wake Button"!

Greetings....
i am really thankful..
but unfortunately
i tested the LED and it work (from *#0*#), andi got the same result (not working with messages and missed calls and etc...).

Hey guys.. I've been having some real trouble with my LED Notifications. Let me give you the gist.
- Battery Light = Working
- Notification Light = Worked for about 2 Weeks after I got the C10 mod, hasn't worked since..
I've done all the basic things I could do.. Went through settings, and rebooted.. I really was just hoping for a quick fix and to realize I was just stupid, but I don't think that's the case. Anyone that can help, please give out a shout. Thanks!
Samsung Galaxy S3 i717 (AT&T) - Rooted - C10 Mod
Have you, by any chance, dropped the phone or made it shock abruptly? Because where I live, many around me, including myself, have seen LED capability die entirely on our i9305 and i9300 Samsung devices.
Face it: It's **** hardware. Crappy produce. Non-lasting, profit-based disposable plastic garbage. Ensuring infinite growth on a finite planet. Which is why we will ALL be gone in, say, 2040.
I've used an awesome kernel app, called Kernel Tuner, to check out what's new in the jb kernel. I modified the min speeds of cores to 320mHz and after that I have locked my phone. After that I've locked my phone and left it on the table. When I tried to unlock it and only the capacitive buttons lit up! No screen response! But the touch screen was working because I was able to pause the song that was playing by blind picking the button. When I pulled the battery, and restarted the phone, everything was okay. But again, when I tried unlocking my phone the screen wasn't responding. I again I restarted the phone and everything was okay. I use the new jelly beans safe mode to find out that's the kernel tuner app was misbehaving. I immediately deleted it and rebooted and everything was okay. I could lock and unlock my phone without any problems. I hope this helps someone else.
Thanks for the tip. Did you test it with other kernel apps?
Thanks, i use this app too on ICS. :/

Flowed from my HTC branded muffin...
I have a strange problem.
E.g. I installed carbon rom. Set it up. Rebooted an lost vibrations. Checked settings an "vibrate on touch" is selected. Haptic is enabled. All seem to be set up for vibrations but phone is not vibrating.
It happens only with AOSP roms. Stock roms are ok.
I also had this problem with slim bean but then clearing cache and dalvig was helping for a while.
I tried different kernels but still not vibrating.
Even in recovery it is not vibrating on touch.
Any one experienced something like this before and knows the fix?
If it's not vibrating in recovery when it normally does, it can't be a rom problem. Maybe its hardware and coincidence? Give the phone a tap o. The side. Perhaps the motor got stuck
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
Ok. So I've installed stock rom and vibration is back. Just flashed carbon again and after reboot vibration again is gone....
Where actually is it "stored"? Is it in rom itself or kernel?
And does it matter what I had before flashing AOSP (stock 4.1.2 or leaked 4.2.2)?

Hi to all! I have a problem with my HTC Droid DNA regarding my notification LED light, when i plug my headset everything is doin fine the problem is when i unplug it or pause the music that is being played the green light starts to light up not blinking but solid green, i tried to disable LED notification in notification settings but no changes, the only way to turn it off is to restart the phone. Any idea how to resolve this issue? i am currently using NOS 3.0.3 GSM sense 5 android version 4.2.2
Thanks in advance!
On sense based ROMs, I believe the notification LED stays solid for ongoing notifications, like the music notification.
