I have an htc evo 3d gsm. I got s-off using the wire trick then downgraded my bootloader. Now my hboot is 1.49.0007 unlocked with s-off. I was wondering how I could revert my phone to stock.
Thanks!
relocking the bootloader and running the appropriate RUU will get you back to stock but your bootloader will show relocked and s-off

not yet rooted but i unlock bootloader & try to s-off but not supported hboot 1.49.0018 so i try to downgrade h-boot but not success & its now hanging on htc screen & rebooting time and again so plz if u have idea
The only hboot number supported is 1.49.0007 and 1.49.0008 anything above this require HTC dev so youve done that next you need to install a custom recovery next download a Rom and flash it next you will start the process off downgrading of your hboot to any of the hboots thats stated above once this is done your ready for alpharevolutionary.io then and only then you will be able to reach the almighty and famous s off in this order

And remember, if you screw up anywhere during the process, you can always download the GSM RUU, relock, and flash it through bootloader.
I wouldn't advise relocking unless you're completely stumped since i dont think you can unlock again after that.
HI all! I want to know if downgrading HBOOT 1.53.007 is possible.
Before I did the OTA update I was able to downgrade my 1.49.0018 HBOOT to 1.49.007 using this method and to easily get S-OFF and unlock bootloader(http://mess-hall.co.uk/2012/04/rooting-htc-evo-3d-hboot-1-49-0018/).Also it was very easy for me to obtain S-ON and LOCKED using this guide (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1710033).
Now my question/s.If I do the same thing to this 1.53.007 HBOOT(put the PG86IMG.zip in the root of the sdcard and open phone in fastboot and let it flash):
1.will it downgrade my device to 1.49.007?
2.will it brick my device?
Can you suggest something else?I mean I want to obtain S-OFF and an unlocked bootloader BUT NOT WITH htcdev.com method.
THANKS!!!
1. No
2. No
I don't think there is a way without htcdev. I had to do it last night and searched all over for an alternative. I tried what you are suggesting as well, but it runs through the flash process in bootloader then nothing.
I bit the bullet in the end and went htc dev followed by the wire trick on io. Got hboot unlocked then soff then flashed an old stock to get hboot 1.47. Just in case I accidentally s-on at some point!

Is it possible with hboot 1.19 s-on running MeanBean? If so what method? I tried dirty racun and it failed on the on the step fastboot oem rebootRUU and black screen with HTC. Then wouldn't flash RUU. t/u
Ruu when in bootloader. Then unlock and then run racun.

Last weekend I relocked my phone then ran the RUU and took the OTA then unlocked and rooted again. I couldn't get Racun to work for me either.

I will most likely try the unroot method since I have tried the racun and was stuck with a phone not working for a while.
What RUU

The RUU to use depends on your hboot, for example, if youre on hboot 1.15 use RUU 1.22.651.3 - HBOOT 1.15
for hboot 1.19 use RUU 2.13.651.1 - HBOOT 1.19
The best guide to follow is the unlimited guide from their site, they will acutally support your efforts live! I used this method and I was able to gain s-off, unlock my bootloader and root; here's the link (it contains eveything you need including the RUU):

That is the one I was using and failed on step 8 second command went to black screen with HTC in center and nothing after that. Then failed to load the RUU. I am on HBOOT 1.19. I will look at it again tonight and might give it a try again.
hey guys. im trying to root my evo 3d.
i unlocked the bootloader via HTCDEV. i also changed the cid from HTC__E11 to HTC__001.
i used Flashmaniac's tool to downgrade from 1.53.0007 to 1.49.0007 but it didn't work. all it did was restarting the EVO.
i watched some videos on how to use this tool, in the video's the phone gets a black screen with HTC logo and a beam.
when this EVO gets the black screen with HTC logo, the beam doesn't show up and the phone restarts into android.
I also tried to downgrade manually, but i can't find hboot 1.49.0007 on xda.
There is one thread with the link but that one doesn't work.
can someone please help me to downgrade to 1.49.0007??
that tool will not work for you. you need to have gingerbread and hboot 1.49.x18 to downgrade using that tool. right now your only option is the wire trick.
RUU back to stock and perform the wire trick to get s-off. then you can flash any hboot you want (you cant just downgrade to 1.49.0007 w/o s-off)
all instructions about the wire trick are here
PG86IMG.zip of hboot 1.49.0007 modified to work with any cid is located here
which ecalos

What he said ^^^
Hi,
Because my HTC Evo 3D is gone for repairs it will (hopefuly) return fixed and most probably updated to stock ICS with hboot 1.53.0007. Previously I've used HTCdev to unlock the bootloader and install 4ext recovery, then the Wire Trick to get S-off and finally this guide to downgrade to hboot 1.49.0007
Before sending the mobile for repairs, I've reverted it as close to stock as possible, using the method described here. One of the steps required extracting ROM.zip from RUU exe file, renaming it to PG86IMG.zip and installing in fastboot.
Now my question is... With a "fresh" phone (ICS, S-on, locked), will it be possible to install PG86IMG.zip extracted from Gingerbread RUU in fastboot? If this way works, it would downgrade hboot to 1.49.0007 and then allow me to use Revolutionary to get the phone Unlocked and S-off (instead of the HTCDev + Juopunutbear + hboot downgrade combination).
Will this work or will it fail? If the latter, is there a chance of bricking the device?
I'm sorry if my question is noobish, but I'm still very new to all the HTC hboot, S-on/S-off and fastboot stuff...
Best regards,
Crocodil

Yes, but if you left your phone s-off you could get it back s-off. Then you can do the RUU thing. AFAIK service won't touch s-off unless they change the motherboard
It will fail because the main version of the Gingerbread ROM is lower than your current ROM

Well, the touchscreen in lower bottom of the screen has stopped working and the phone is still on warranty, so I've reverted it to stock ICS + s-on + "Relocked" (didn't find any way to get back to "Locked"). This way there's a better chance that they will do the repair on warranty but I've read different reports about the Polish HTC certificated repair service... Sometimes they void warranty for using HTCdev unlock even if a problem is clearly with hardware (like in my case).
I hope that my EVO does get repaired as I've really enjoyed using it with CM11...
I don't unlock the phone, I use Ultimate recovery tool to downgrade hboot.

I did see this method before (one of the 2 hboot downgrade options I could find), but the step of "intentionally bricking" my device made me too nervous to try it But I might use the tool once I get my mobile back
lol, scares every one. But it was the frist way to downgrade

Use the firmware zip from OTA 2.95 makes it easy to do.
