[Q] HTC Evo 3D lastest RUU file help - HTC EVO 3D

I updated my htc evo v 4g with the wrong RUU to unroot it. It was the sprint ruu. Then I updated the system and everything up to the march OTA update so now it has 2.95. Then something happened in between there, so now there is no rom installed. it only will show htc logo screen or hboot (1.58). I tried rooting but recovery wont flash correctly. Tried using various ruu files none work either. I really need the 2.95 latest sprint ruu file. Please does anyone have it.

Not sure why you would want a sprint RUU if it is supposed to be a Virgin Mobile phone (Evo V 4g), but two threads I can think of that may help you...
UnknownForce's [TOOL] Ultimate Recovery Tool 3.1 (Unbrick, Downgrade, VM Radio Fix/Reset)
Ramjet73's [Guide] Quick And Dirty Evo 3D/V Root & S-OFF (Sprint and Virgin Mobile Only)
Haven't seen Ramjet73 around lately, but Unknowforce is still patrolling his thread and he is one of the most knowledgeable about the differences between the Virgin Mobile/Sprint partitions and files so that is probably where you want to start. If you can get back to a correct "stock" state, then you will be able to use either thread to get S-Off and continue on for root/recovery/custom roms.
Hope that helps.

Rooted GSM Evo 3D + OTA ICS

I honestly hate to post and will usually spend days reading existing posts as normaly the info I need has already been posted, but this time round I'm honestly spinning my wheels a bit.
Phone: Rogers HTC Evo 3D running original Rogers ROM.
Android: 2.3.4
HTC Sense: 3.0
Baseband: 10.53.9020.00U
Radio: 10.13.9020.08_2M
Hboot: 1.49.1107
Modifications
Revolutionary CWM 4.0.1.4
Superuser 3.0.7
Revolutionary S-Off
All I want to do is install the official Rogers OTA ICS update (which my phone is showing as available). I believe I need to disable S-OFF, unroot and restore the stock recovery loader before the OTA update will install.
I'm looking for the easiest way to go about this. There is so much info out there and majority being CDMA. A push in the right direction would be much appreciated.
In another thread, in the Q&A, i pointed towards a download. Let me try and find it....
Anyways.... I downloaded the EXE, they say to put it in a zip, and let it run from Hboot. I executed the EXE file directly from windows, and downgraded to .2, updated the phone to .3, and then to 4.0. I lost my root, but i still have my S-off and my Recovery does not work in Hboot (used to be CWM, i guess it got overwritten)
My next step is do get CWM back on and flash SuperUser to root my phone again. There's a few things in ICS, that i don't like. If you hear how to do this, or find a thread on it, let me know. Ive been searching for 2 days now and cant find anything.
EDIT: Here's the link
http://file.anzhuo.cn/data/attachme...00_10.13.9020.08_2M_release_203803_signed.exe
what about the kingcobra ICS? Why not stick with that then this?
I've used modded roms in the past. Honestly they were always more headache then they were worth for me. Features not working etc etc.

Unique Problem - My Evo 3d does not apply the updates when it downloads

I bought 3d evo a year ago and I tempered with it at first to root. I could not root it but it was s-off. Anyways , this whole time I thought I was getting updates and such because I was receiving update notifications and downloading them, and phone was restarting afterwards , so I thought everything was ok. Then, recently I checked software versions in settings and I was shocked. My phone was exactly the same as the first day. Then I tried to do a hard factory reset from settings. It did not work. Tried again from the bootloader menu, it did not reset again. There was a method by relocking it at first and using RUU's to make it back to original state. I relocked it but RUU file did not work , i think it was incompatible and gave an error.
Here are the version numbers in settings:
Android version - 2.3.4
HTC Sense - 3.0
Software - 1.20.468.6
This is the bootloader screen:
*****Relocked*****
****Security Warning*****
S- On
Hboot 1.49.0018 Emm-boot Oct 3-2011
I have a phone which can not revert to original state and can not apply any updates. Hboot version is an issue I always see guides about 1.50.
Do I have to start over and S-off first ? I have tried everything, putting pc86img.zip file to sd card , it reads during bootloader but does not ask to update. I tried sprint ruu file from windows but it did not work either. Need directions because I am really pissed off. Please help. Thanks.
bro i'm pretty sure that thats a gsm phone. please dont try to flash any cdma(sprint) stuff on it.
Normally I would have directed you to a thread containing gsm RUU's but apparently the new hosting site is down. Keep checking here though
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2094402
A word of warning: If you update using the RUU you will have the new hboot 1.53 and it is only possible to achieve s-off on that hboot with the wire trick. Whereas your current hboot can make use of flashmaniac's tool to downgrade and s-offf using revolutionary

You probably took the update and tried to install it with a custom recovery installed. If so, it appears that will result in a partially installed update with the ROM updated and the kernel not being flashed, which causes WiFi errors.
If that's your situation the best thing to do is flash a stock rooted ROM if that is what you were using prior to taking the OTA.

I found this thread because I'm in a similar situation. I tried downloading from the quoted link and using 4eXT recovery to load the zip file from sd card and it says "installation aborted".
Any ideas on what to try next? My eventual goal is to get back to 100% showroom stock non-rooted, locked booloader, so that the phone will accept OTA updates fully. Modding/ROMing is a drug I experimented with, and am now ready to go back to the straight and narrow. I'd prefer the phone not have any scars whatsoever from my old habits.
Additional background:
Started with ICS OTA. Used HTC unlock to unlock bootloader. Coworker installed rom toolbox, superSU and 4eXT recovery (not sure what order) to get SOS rom up and running. Never did go for S-OFF.
Decided I wanted to return to 100% Sprint factory stock. Coworker promptly moved across country, leaving me to figure this out. Tried using several ROMs from XDA and elsewhere, and eventually ended up with a rooted almost stock ROM, but had to flash my own radios via 4eXT, as wifi and 4G weren't working from the rom. Flashing my own radios via 4eXT, got to 2.89 with then current radios.
While sitting in my hotel travelling abroad with no international data plan and super slow hotel wifi, I foolishly downloaded OTA this morning, promptly killing my phone's wifi. Phone is still rooted with 4eXT, superSU, installed on it if that helps.

I just did this yesterday (Thanks to ramjet for pointing it out). Backup first. It dose a factory reset. You also need to install the blue tooth fix from this post after flashing the ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29707708&postcount=303
fixed thanks
Hi to all
I just fixed my phone thanks to Mr ramjet and I used the last one because I completely formatted my phone and only had 4ext it takes while to load the first time but be patient and it will work
How about S-Off phones?
Hello... so my fiance' has a Virgin Mobile Evo 3D. I downloaded the update from them and tried to install it through the custom recovery. It did what Ramjet said by updating the ROM and not the Kernel. I now have no wifi,it says wifi error when trying to turn it on. Since then, I have made sure the stock ROM was rooted, and have also HTCDev unlocked the device as well as S-Off with the Junobear wire trick and Linux. Now that I'm S-Off, is it ok to use an RUU to downgrade everything? Just wondering before I go any further and brick the device or screw up something I shouldn't. I figure it's better to ask questions first before doing it lol! Any help is greatly appreciated from anybody! I have my specs listed here for you all:
HTC Evo 3D 4G Virgin Mobile
Mods: Rooted,HTCDev Unlocked, S-Off
JuopunutBear
Shooter XC SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT: 1.57.5757
Radio: 1.09.00.0706
Android Version 4.0.3
Sense Version 3.6
Software number 2.95.652.5 710RD
Kernel Version: 3.0.16-g4211684
[email protected] #1
SMP PREEMPT
Baseband Version:1.09.00.0706

Was this new thread ever made because I am a Virgin Mobile user too just like the above user and ever since last update my wireless has stated error.
If ur phone's bootloader is unlocked, relock your phone by using the fastboot command "fastboot oem lock". Then just download the 2.89 RUU.exe. (i know ur on 2.95 but i have not seen the 2.95 ruu floating around hgere yet) Run it on a windows PC and follow the prompts and it should flash correctly on your phone (caution, it will erase everything on your phone). Once its flashed, the phone will reboot (sometimes more than once) just let it do its thing
Once the phone has flashed correctly, do a software update and it will update to 2.95
Worked for me when i had to go back to stock in order to return it for warranty when the digitizer went out
EDIT:
Here is the link to the 2.95 OTA http://d-h.st/vUe
Download to your PC, then unzip it, and run it after you have relocked your phone
Should you need them, here is the list of HBOOTS (thanks to ramjet73) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29844945#post29844945

This sounds hopeful, I did try to install this before with no luck, it gave me a 131 custom id error. I did it relocked and I am currently 2.95.652.5, and S-ON.
any suggestions?
Thanks

[Q] Evo V 4G Help - Complicated - Please!

Hello.
I am attempting to apply an HTC Software Update to my Evo V which is necessary for me because it will fix my radio issues. In order to do this, I have to be completely on stock because I need to have the stock recovery for it to work.
I have already tried to run the RUU, but I cannot because I am on the 2.95.whatever update..
I am Unlocked and S-on.
I attempted to achieve S-off but it wouldn't work, it would just be stuck at the Juopunutbear logo on the screen after the wire trick.
I am on HBoot 1.58.00 and on a rooted stock rom.
Also, I have TWRP Recovery.
Case and point: I am trying to get on a stock kernel, recovery, and ROM in order to apply an update for my phone, and using a RUU doesn't work for some reason. I have also tried to flash the stock recovery but it would just show a red triangle with an exclamation point on it when I try to update.
Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you
Pretty sure if you are on 1.58, that was implemented in the latest update...so you should have the latest radio

Can't s-off so can't install new roms, pleasee help, I'm desperate

I've read all about this on "[INDEX] HTC EVO 3D GSM Development *FULL LIST* [FINAL UPDATE] " and others that should help me and read all in tutorials section, have lost 3 days trying to s-off but with no luck. On that thread are some links that may help me (a tool for auto dowgrade hboot and s-off or something and links for downloading roms that are needed for downgrading or s-off so I could install new roms like kit kat.). but some I can't try I and some don't work. I've tryed everything and just won't work. I got HTC EVO 3D X515m, GSM, ROOTED, ICS 4.0.3, SOFTWARE NUBMER 3.28.401.1., HBOOT 1.53.0007, S-ON. Also I can't get it to stock GB rom cause neither of ruu's I've downloaded from "shipped roms" don't match so I can't use wire trick s-off with Juopunutbear S-OFF.
I can't install some of the apps that I really need cause my rom is too old for them, and I have no money for a new phone, please help me!
Some Roms require S-Off, but not all. If you find yourself stuck start over and try again. I was able to S-OFF my first EVO 3D but I forgot exactly which RUUs and tool kit I used but the ones I tried this time around couldn't S-OFF my 2nd (kept giving me a "secondary backup" error). Anyway, I just loaded a custom Rom without S-OFF and it works great so I left it as it is lol

Thanks for your answer man. I know, I was able to install KingCobra 3D ICS, but that is the only one that worked. I need at least Jelly Bean or even better Kit Kat but every newer rom than ICS won't work and keeps restarting on boot logo.. Why is bootloader "parsing" PG86IMG with older hboot that I need, why it won't update it, is there a fix? :/

No idea, but if you don't like the loader you can buy one off the store. I use the NXT loader and it has a lot of customization.
Can someone just help me with getting s-off for hboot 1.53.0007 with ICS, gsm, pleasee! :/ Every solution gets me to one unsuccessful step, just can't go to the end without problems..
