So I've been searching around for some sort of solution, or even someone having the same thing happen to them as me, but I haven't found anything.
Whenever the phone is either plugged in, unplugged, or a phone call is answered, my phone disables automatic brightness. I wanna know if this happens to anyone else and if there is a way to get it to not disable, thanks.
Bump
I haven't had that issue myself. Kinda weird.

Hi,
I have a very strange and annoying problem, hope you'll can help me.
When I turn on WiFi/tethering everything's okay, but after I turn them off my phone becomes laggy and reboot it it's the only way to fix that.
It happened with every ROM and every kernel I've used.
Why does it happen? Anyone else have/had this problem? Is there any way to fix it? It is really annoying to reboot after every WiFi or tethering use, and I don't want to leave it on because of the battery.
Thanks and sorry for any mistake in my English.

Maybe the reason is cuz some apps/services can't connect to the internet
Try factory reset from xRecovery
Did it now, still the same.

About the problem, sorry I have no ideas

It's probably because tethering uses much CPU power and some services are shut down by the system and after you turn off tethering, they are restarted.

It happens after disconnecting a simple WiFi connection too, not only tethering.
I really don't understand this. It has never happened to me with other phones that I had in the past and I can't realize what's different now.

check my sig.
After searching this forum and Google in general and not finding any answer to this issue (probably since I'm using the wrong search terms - sorry, English is not my native language), I hope I'm not bothering with my problem here...
Every now and then, the call quality is incredibly poor.
I hear things extremely overamplified, voices sound like really loud, clanking tin cans. It's totally unacceptable and annoying.
Sometimes it happens, most of the times calls are perfectly clear though.
I tried to find out what kind of circumstances these bad calls have in common but didn't find anything.
It can happen when I have poor or great signal.
It happens with all numbers I dial.
Usually, it happens when I call somebody. But I also had it happen when I received a call.
Sometimes a reboot fixes this issue. But not all the time.
And quite often, I dial a random service number a few times until the noise is gone, then I can call people normally again. For a while.
I cancelled noise suppression and amplification - it doesn't make a difference.
I lower and raise the volume - nothing changes.
Funny thing is that I can tell from a symbol on the display that the next call is gonna be screwed up so basically, my Galaxy appears to be aware that something's not OK sometimes.
I would love to post a screenshot but unfortunately, the forum doesn't let me yet.
Basically, the icon looks like a crossed out fever chart.
Any ideas how to fix this?
Cheers
Alex
Really nobody?

Sure. But I can't reproduce the problem.
Sometimes a boot fixes it for a while, sometimes the problem still exists even after rebooting.
Post screen shots if possible.

Unfortunately, I am not even allowed to post links on this board.
I have a problem and I can't figure out what is wrong. I am running hyperdrive on kt kernel but it happens on other rooms and kernels too. The microphone on my phone keeps cutting out during call. The person I am call than can no longer here me. I am able to get the microphone to work again if I put it into speaker phone Mode and than back to headset mode. Does anybody know what is wrong? Will they send me a updated phone if I send it in for warranty?

A friend from work was complaining about this same problem today. She is 100% stock. I might try to look at her phone tomorrow. Any suggestions from the community would be great.

Didn't see anything out of the ordinary. Might recommend a factory reset to her and if that doesn't resolve it, maybe a hardware swap.
I was going to say that aosp is the problem then someone is having same issues with stock, hmm weird on the stock one, as I know the others have the call bug.
Have you guys tried a different kernel or modem?

Yah I have had the same problem on both hyperdrive and slim bean. I have also tried both stock and kt kernel. I did upgrade the modem. I cant remember if I had the same problemon the release modem. Could it be a modem problem? Didn't think of that because it seemed like a microphone issue
I've been having issues on stock also. Its usually when I'm on the phone and sometimes it'll cut out on me and I can't really hear what the person on the other end is saying.

I want to bump this. I am still having this problem. I have even Odin the factory image. Seems like a software problem to me though.
Cuts out
If you turn off the proximity ssensor, the dialpad stays on. When your cheek touches it, the phone will mute, end call, etc.
Hi guys,
hope you'll be able to help me out with this. Under Diagnostics-->Orientation--> Accelerometer, my brand new Xperia Z4 fails the test since it won't vibrate while shaking the device! Now, vibration itself works fine it's just won't do it in that particular test. Does it mean I've got a faulty device? Can you kindly check if the same problem exists in your devices.
Also, when I've got my music/youtube on and changing orientation, audio seems to cut off for a split second during the transistion. Is it releated you think?
Thanks so much for your help in advance!
And 1st i thought mine was too.. Try shakin itnevery way possbile.. Got mine to vibrate

I've tried that with no luck unfortunately. What about this other "audio-orientation" issue I've got? This is my first Sony device so I don't know whether that's something normal or not?

This audio issue is software bug, i have it too. And for accelerometer i got failed couple of times, but it's working. If it doesn't work you would not be able to rotate screen orientation.

I'm glad the audio issue is a software bug. It's a bit annoying but hopefully it'll be addressed in the future updates. I can live with that...for now As for the failed test, you think it's really nothing to worry about? The auto-rotation works just fine but why it won't vibrate during the test? You reckon that's the diagnostics issue, another bug perhaps? I just wonder if that's a common issue, that's all?I hope you guys will let me know

Yeah, tried same app on my phone failed couple of times and suceeded finally. Nothing to worry at all, probably one more bug.

I've tried for the millionth time and it finally vibrated then it wouldn't again! Well, I'm telling you it was far from shaking it gently . Like you said, it must be another bug! Thanks for your help mate. Much appreciated!
If you still have got any other thoughts drop a line
As the title says: Is there a way to force games into a 18:5 ratio? Most games don't work properly yet and have visual issues or are simply unplayable. I added 2 less extreme example.
PS: I'm talking about something like Samsungs app scaling settings. This phone is missing this option which is one of the biggest problems right now. Apps are obviously not always optimized for 21:9 yet so this is a neccesity. I hope Sony reacts to it as fast as possible.
Got a typo in the title. Can some moderator change this? That's a thing xda-developers needs to improve.
did you enable developer options and see if you can make any changes in there?

Yeah, couldn't find anything there. Can't check it again right now though, had to send my device in. Can check it again once it's back which will probably take 4-5 days. My speaker crackled a lot, probably a hardware issue.
so, it was defective right out of the box?

Yeah. They got it today so i guess i should have a new (hopefully) working one in 2-3 days max. It's really weird to not have a phone :')
actually, its a good feeling to not be annoyed for a few days with endless meaningless texts/spam phone calls..

Yeah, it just sucks that i'm unable to make some important calls/ hear music/ keep contact with a friend of mine. Makes everyday things much harder. Definitly happy once it's back

There's a software update coming 3/15 that could fix that.

I hope so. Currently waiting for them to either send it back (or to send me a new device). It only occurs in third party apps after all. Maybe my device helped them to find the problem?
didnt get anything on 3-15..anyone else?
