My S3s bench mark score is significantly less compared to the given score. Around 900 points less. What could be the problem? Galaxy S3 India. So what do I do? I'm running stock ROM, not rooted, hard reset done twice.

Does the phone feel slow?
Nope. But a few high end games lag on playing continuously for more than 45 min. And the phone gets really hot.

Just the cpu throttling, bound to happen with a device that has no cooling, especially if the ambient temp is high

Heat is to be expected. Benchmarks dont really mean anything. Our phone is no way near high end when it comes to gaming capabilities.

That's normal, just the way processors work it is very rare to get an exact number. You will be wasting your time taking it back because they are all exactly the same.

Your phone may heat/warm up while flashing, this is normal but excessive Overheating can damage your battery but I don't think it shouldn't be too hot to damage your phone except you are microwaving it.

Darker coloured phones absorb more heat probably..
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
so you could say it's drawing more heat away from the quad core thus being better for it? lol
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
well yes and no, it could also be worse as it will absorb heat from its surroundings and may conduct that back to the processor
And yes I do realise how silly this thread is
So better not buy a black one, it will frie your cpu
It's not just internal heat that the dark colored phones are trapping, they trap ambient heat as well (e.g. Sunlight, lamps).

No, normal behavior. It only comes on as needed. (well, should.)
Should come on when the load on the processor increases more. Check the Times tab up at the top right of that screen after you've done something processor intensive like loading up a game. Will probably show a few stats for the second core as well.
Forcing the second core on is not recommended either.

yep. second core is only used when needed. like a computer, the phones first core is primary but if it feels it cant hold up it will turn on the second one.
Some processors are designed to use all cores at all times.
This one only uses the second core when it's under heavy load.

Sent from Rezound
ICS could definitely use it. My games are more choppy and laggy since ICS. I know GB couldnt utilize second core because the kernel didnt support it. Youd think it would try to use it with the Sense lag... Lol
In my experience, undervolting doesn't do much to improve battery life. All these new Sense kernels are fun to play with, but they haven't done a thing to improve performance for me. And I've tried all the recommended settings that are supposedly great.
And yes, they may work fine... But I can't say any of them were noticeably better than stock. In fact, most were worse.
But, the flasher in me will continue to experiment. It's just what we do.

I think it would be possible with the quad core 2gb ram model as it has the same specs as the note 2 and that has been seen at 2ghz
im what Willis was talking about
Feel free to try it but I have a feeling that the phone will reboot because of overheating buy try it and let us know...
Intact why the f would you want it a 2ghz our phones are phones not blumming computers ... most mobile games don't even touch our phone... but like I said try it ... it would be a gimmick type thing

Hope i helped if i did please click the "Thanks" button

Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Siyah Kernel allow up to 1.8Ghz . I believe it is possible however I do not believe it's safe. Overclocking that much might cause the device to over heat not forgetting the Battery drain issue that you will be facing as the battery isn't optimized to endure that power .
