Does your EVO 3d turn off?

My phone turned off today but it only happened once. I remember my original EVO used to turn off all the time.

No. take it back. Not once on my Evo4g stock and not once on my 3D. Just imagine how bad it will get when you start overclocking it...
...and if you don't start overclocking it, well, wtf? You wanna underclock it just to keep it from fruitloops?
Take it back.

By turn off do you mean random reboot?
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
Yea I looked up at the tv and when I looked down it had the green HTC logo with white background but I don't remember if it booted up fast or not
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
Mine straight up shut off once. I just chalked it up to being upside down in my pocket tho
My Samsung Moment did that all the time, but no thats not normal and Id say take it back. Neither my E4g or E3d has ever done that.
I got it from best buy so I'm going to take it back tomorrow but someone told its better to take it to sprint is this true?
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
Mine went back to Sprint today for a few strange issues, including random reboots. This was the first time I had exchanged a phone, it was quick and easy.
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
mine is doing that :O brand new. this was the problem i first had with my evog. so this sucks......... a lot
I should be able to take out back to either one i think. I hope they replaced it and not send out for repair

funny? anti-joke?
Reboot? Yes.
I did a hard reset after 4 days of it happening and it didn't reset for a while then it started happening again randomly. Like I could have the phone charging while not using it then a reset. It even happened to me while I was actually talking on the phone. I dunno why it's happening. It has to be the software coming in conflict with some app. I mean it's not a root or bypass method out that would cause damage to the OS. Maybe I should contact Sprint tomorrow about it.
Well, I called Sprint after I got another random reboot this afternoon. The rep connected me to order support and they're sending me a new replacement with a return kit to send this one back. So if you're having this problem, contact Sprint ASAP.
Mention to them that you did a hard reset to avoid going to a Sprint store. They won't replace it at the store if you purchased it online.
I just went to best buy and they replaced mine so I'm happy

Sort of on the same line, seems like sometimes a brief power button tap will bring up the shutdown menu, instead of putting the phone to sleep recently. Been watching it debating about returning it for a different phone. That happening to anyone else too?

No but I would definitely return it and get another one that doesn't do that

This happened to me with my first phone. Random reboots, like 15 the first night I had the phone. Took it right back to the sprint store and swapped it out. New phone not one single random reboot.
Ok, I've had the replacement for 3 days now and I just got my first random reboot. I wasn't using it at the time. Just charging.

Sms spamming?

So I was talking with my buddy about spamming over sms. Long story short I know in the past I have bombed him with like 100 messages in a few minutes. He said you can't anymore. I said I can and tried to show him. Now he will only receive like 4 and the rest go poof. Did sprint limit this somehow?

I highly doubt it.. my girlfriends phone will, for whatever random reason while getting a signal off our airrave (what a P.O.S. that is.) spam anyone she last txt like 40 times. no rhyme or reason. only her phone does it, and it's not even the phone because we had that replaced as well.. still does it. Mine has never done it.
Try jds SMS bomber. You have to Google for the apk.

[Q] Does your Note flash on and off quicky at midnight?

I have a Rogers Galaxy Note, rooted, but running stock.
Every night, at exactly midnight, it flashes on and off very quickly.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
Nope
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using XDA
YES
I do not know, I'm always sleeping at midnight. In the words of Bette Davis "Gettin' old ain't fer sissies!"
I'm usually up around midnight and I have not seen this. I'm on an AT&T Note though.

What rom are u using? Maybe flash a different ron to see if a software issue. Or do a factory reset.
Sent from the TermiNOTEr!
I'm running the default stock Rogers rom.
If you're on the east coast, midnight is coming up. Check it. To test, just have your phone locked and screen off at midnight, and watch it. It doesn't reboot.. just flashes on and off quickly.
It's quite possible there is an app I have installed that is doing this, so tonight I plan on checking it with logcat. I'll report my findings afterward (PST).
You sure its not notifying you something but I would go with the posses idea. I see dead people comes to mind.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using XDA
doh! i was coding and forgot to plug in and check logcat. tune in tomorrow. sorry.
Its probably some app scheduled to do something at midnight over your wifi.
I know my Captivate used to do the same thing, any time the wifi was used, the screen would turn on briefly (less than a second) and turn off the screen while doing whatever it was doing over the wifi (like Beyondpod when it went to update my podcasts, the screen blinked on/off, then immediately after the screen turned off, it started checking for new episodes and downloading).
So it's either APOD, or it's my system. Those are the only two culprits. I'll uninstall APOD and report back tomorrow.

Random reboots

Ok, I got this bad boy yesterday and it has already done about 7 random reboots. What the heck is up with it?
Sent from my EVO using XDA
thats way weird.. did you isntall something or root it? factory reset i think!
Do u have a case on it? I have the platinum surface case from best buy and the top button was getting pushed in by my holster & pocket.

Nope, not rooted yet and no case yet, waiting on otter box.

i had that happen too, it kept rebooting in my pocket glad to know im not the only one i suspected the power button being pushed
Same here thought it was pt holster also but now I wonder.

I just picked up my EVO 4G LTE last night, and it rebooted twice last night and at least four times today. It seems to happen most often when I'm on 3G, and I haven't noticed it happen yet while I've been on Wifi. Sometimes it happens when it's in my pocket, and other times it happens while I'm using it.
I tried restarting the phone and doing a factory reset, but neither resolved the problem.
My wife and I both got the phone at the same time, have all of the same apps installed, and her's has not rebooted once...
I plan to contact Best Buy tomorrow and see what I can do about exchanging the phone. I'm not very optimistic about being able to exchange it anytime soon, but I at least want to have this documented so that I can get an exchange when one is available. I feel that I shouldn't have to go through having the phone serviced or giving me a refurbished one, when this one is clearly defective from the start.
These reboots are making me mad. I have noticed that just before the reboot, the phone freezes up theen comes the reboot. I'm guessing the reboot is a feature that HTC has put in to restart a frozen phone. Maybe I'm wrong but I will be at best buy Monday. Not wasting my weekend at bb so I will wait till tomorrow lol. It's not like they have any replacements yet.

I wouldn't count on bb having any replacements for at least a week, maybe longer.
Yea I just called them and they said another shipment is due in around June 3rd. Damn what I wait. Atleast he said it would be like an exchange and no sending it off.

My random reboots only happen in my pocket they don't happen when I am using the phone or anywhere else
I haven't had any reboots since my first day I'm wondering if its some sort of automatic update process Prl profile etc..
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
I was getting reboots and shut downs but it was with the pt case from BB I took it off and no problem since.
Sent from my EVO LTE!!
I've seen a couple of reboots myself, but it's been when the phone had been in my old phone case. It seems that my case hits the power button because of where it is located. Looks like it's time for a new case.
I hope they are related because other than the reboots, I am loving this phone.
Sent from my EVO LTE using XDA
I have no case on mine, and it happens when the phone is just sitting on a table, so it has nothing to do with the power button being pressed in.
It seems to happen almost once every hour or so...
I've already contacted Best Buy, and they're supposed to be holding the first non-preordered EVO that comes in so that I can exchange mine... they didn't provide me with an ETA for when that would be...
I honesty don't think its a problem with the phone its day 4 and phone is flawless still using my pt clip and case and no issues since first day.
I'm sure its some kind of settling in thing.
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
Ok its day four and mine is still doing it a lot. I woke up and there's the tell HTC crap in the notification bad again, so it had to reboot while I was asleep.
There is something going on for sure because I don't even have a case on it. It seems to do it about every hour or two.
I will be at best buy as soon as they open.

Ok, I got lucky and best buy had 1 that someone cancelled and BB swapped mine. The new one has not rebooted at all. Definitely a problem with the phone. Thank got they had a replacement.

That's great. My best buy doesn't have any available, so I need to wait. They tried to tell me that it was a software issue, and Sprint/HTC were planning an update, but I pretty much told them I don't buy that, and I want an exchange.
If it was a software issue, a much higher percentage of us would be having the issue...

Anyone else's Tbolt on the east coast just bootloop today and die?

my best friends tbolt just died today; he's rooted, s-off etc, but hasn't flashed anything new in months. he unplugged it from his car, and it started to bootloop. get into hboot, hit recovery, it starts bootlooping. did an RUU, it keeps bootlooping.
i wouldn't think it's a big deal and i'd think it just fried, but then i had a customer come into my store with a stock s-on non rooted thunderbolt today that did the SAME exact thing....he unplugged it and it started bootlooping...and we couldn't do a thing to fix it.
i'm wondering if this is a network problem akin to when the rezound would bootloop and we'd have to get into phone settings and change it from WCDMA back to CDMA/LTE?
I live in Georgia. No issues here.

Virginia, my brothers just suddenly boot-looped too.
He hasn't touched any roms or radios for awhile.
I had a weird issue where my tbolt shutdown on its own while I was listening to Pandora omw home from work. I booted it back up but it wouldn't gain any signal whatsoever. Tried airplane mode, which works sometimes if data gets screwy. Tried rebooting twice to no avail. Finally I pulled the battery and it got a signal after that. It was really odd as I've never had that happen to me before in my 1.5 years with it.

My data has been EXTREMELY screwy today, but no bootloop here. NC.
Every time i go to Atlanta mine will reboot about 3:00 PM everyday but only while im in Atlanta... I'm Back and forth from Guntersville,AL to ATL... Thought it was just me but it does it on any ROM I use..?
Southern California here, no problems with that stuff.

That's funny you said this, my gfs Dinc2 bootlooped last Saturday and since she wasn't rooted I had to order her a new phone and I'm in Baltimore MD.
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2
i don't get what's happening here...likke i said, i had a customer with the SAME problem at the SAME time my friends died. we RUU'ed my friends, it booted up...then it just rebooted itself and started to bootloop again. i lent him a phone, but when he gives me the Tbolt i want to try some more stuff with it.
i wish i knew wtf was up..
also, when my friends looped, he was listening to slacker in his car plugged in, and shut his car off, so when power disconnected, that's when it started to bootloop.
Dude, time for a replacement. I had a few tbolts do that. Dunno how its related to the bootloop or what screws things up in the usb port but nothing is going to fix that. Unless you tinker with the hardware.
Guess its just the tbolt aging and it don't age well. Its a grumpy old bugger.

Mine has recently just started to turn off by itself and act like it's rebooting. Instead I have to do a battery pull and get it up and running again. Happens at least once a day now and nothing has changed as far as ROMs go. Actually just rebooted a few min ago.
Sent from my Thunderbolt using Tapatalk 2
Mine turns off, but doesn't reboot... I don't think it's the ROM, I've never had CleanROM v1.0 do this...
