[Q] Finding US Service Centers for S3 I9300 - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

A friend of mine gave me a galaxy S3 from Pakistan. I still have the box with the warranty receipt and purchase date, but on navigating the website I am only directed to UK service centers for the I9300 Galaxy S3. I'm sure they can restore my imei stateside just as well, but whenever I try to register my product on the US site, I can't, it doesn't even give me the option of entering i9300 manually? I live in New York. If you can just direct me to the nearest New York City Samsung Cell phone service center within the 5 boroughs I would be eternally grateful. I live in Queens New York. Searched threads looking to find something similar and couldn't quite nail it. Yes I'm n00b. It happens Can't make phone calls.

Judged by previous posts USA users have sent I9300 to UK for repairs ,

They won't accept it, even for warranty repairs in the US. It's not a US phone. If you need it repaired, you either take it unofficial or post it to Pakistan and have your friend get it repaired there.

If you just want a Samsung repair centre the a USA model forum would be better to ask .

[Q] O2 warranty question

Hi guys, just bought an Samsung Galaxy S II from UK and waiting for it to be delivered. I was wondering if the warranty provided by O2(the phone was purchase from them) has EU coverage through Samsung service or O2 has their own service network and in case something wrong happens i have to send it back to UK.

Your warranty is with O2 UK not Samsung UK Sale of Goods Act .
Samsung warranty is secondary but they seem to carry out warranty repairs with a valid receipt . Many choose to by pass the seller and go straight to Samsung for repairs .
Thats the way i would go .

Thanks JJEgan, thats awsome news. Samsung representatives told me that as long as on the warranty card is the Samsung logo im covered for Samsung warranty on entire EU.
After 14 days O2 default to the manufacturers warranty but within the contract terms (sales of good act) it is the point of sales responsibilty to organise the repair with the manufacturer not you.

Ok so that means if i my phone stop working in the warranty period i have to send it to O2 and they will send it to Samsung without me being able to get in touch with Samsung directly?

SALE OF GOODS ACT UK
The seller is responsible not anyone else . Phone breaks after 36 days it is down to the seller not the manufacturer to repair or replace .
However in practice take your phone to O2 40 days after sale and they will honour the warranty in one of two ways . One send it to their own service centre or more than likely send it to Samsung . But make no mistake at all times the seller is liable not Samsung .The warranty that Samsung offer is over and above the sellers responsibility . Though many will say not our problem after 28 days . But it is 100% their problem .
Thas not to say the best route is not via Samsung .

No contact Samsung first see what they say probabilities is they will fix it .
All i am saying is that in law the manufacturer is not responsible for warranty . But in most cases take it on direct for the customer .

Seems like it S2 is only available in UK right now or atleast the place i can get it shipped from...will this warranty be valid in north america?

International Warranties?

Hi there
I bought my Atrix online, I live in Australia.
Now I have problem with the phone I took to the moto repair shop they said they can't fix it as it does not have an Australian label on the back! and it's not a OZ stock!
I'm still 6 months warranty according to me IEMI number but it's based on US!
What do u guys suggests? can I post it to US motorola? possible?

IMO, you should call up Motorola customer service during their normal business hours.
what is wrong with your phone though? it might be cheaper just to do the repairs yourself.

[Q] Repairing LCD for i9305 in the USA

All, I bought a Brown International Samsung Galaxy SIII i9305 that is registered Germany in December. Naturally with a little bad luck, after having it for 3 days I dropped it 1 ft (with a case) onto a wooden floor and cracked the screen. Samsung USA won't touch it as mentioned in other posts because of the model. After checking with Samsung service centers in multiple countries the Service center in Germany directed me to their repair service provider in Germany. They are able to repair it BUT will only ship back to a German address. I explained the situation to the repair center but they were unrelenting. I've checked back with Samsung and there is nothing they will do as it's their only service provider in Germany.
Btw...I did check the other threads before posting this and saw that the last person with this problem sent the phone back to the UK (where it was registered) from the USA. I would be willing to pay the price, but I can't get the phone back because of the shipping only to a German address. Also as an alternative I was looking for a new screen and replacing it in the USA, but finding a Brown Digitizer seems to really be a challenge anywhere as I've only found a couple brown ones online after days of searching, and they are all for the i9300.
I checked every forum about replacing screens on an international i9305 with an international i9300 LCD and haven't seen a solid answer yet. For the time being, the LCD on the phone still works, it's just the glass is shattered,..so worst case, at least I still have a working phone.
Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

[Q] Does the Galaxy S3 actually have an international warranty?

So I bought a GS3 in july last year from Dubai (and thought its the best thing happened to me) then moved to Germany to stay permanently, the phone was mostly used for Android app development and had a luxurious treatment and was rarely used for other than that and navigation!
And starting at December random red hues started appearing around the screen, then a couple of weeks later the blue led was blinking so I tried to unlock it but it wouldn't, then I removed the battery, and it never booted again, no single reaction!
The real problem is that Samsung Germany refused to fix the phone saying:
thank you for your request.
According to our terms of warranty only mobile phones distributed within the EU are entitled to free warranty repair in Germany. Therefore please contact the local Samsung support center in Dubai. Thank you for your unterstanding.

What I don't unterstand is that the dealer in Dubai assured it has international warranty. and the whole thing makes no sense since its the same phone and it wasn't my fault, and going all the way to dubai would cost several times what the phone is worth and if I ever buy a new phone it wont be Samsung or android at all!
So I desperately searched the net for a way or hint to fix it, and found some main boards that cost almost or more than half the price with no warranty.
now I went back to use my old S1 which feels like a calculator compared to the S3, and I could cry whenever I see the S3 lying on the desk:crying:
any ideas?

That's incorrect and a misinformation from your seller. US-customers also cannot have the i9300 fixed locally.
Just because the phone is called "international" does not mean it has international warranty.

Samsung Europe is not Samsung Asia, is not Samsung US, ...
They are different subcompanies of the same mother-company.
By the way; Samsung is not and never was under any obligation to fix your phone. The term warranty is usually used completelty incorrectly by customers.
Warranty is a voluntary offer by the seller or manufacturer to fix or replace a device and can have arbitrary conditions (such as location specific, only so many hours of usage, ...)
Guarantee on the other hand is ONLY provided by the seller (not the manufacturuer!) and it's definition is provided by the law of the country you buy the product in.
E.g. Most EU-countries have 2 years guarantee but you can still have only 1 year of warranty. Confusing...
Most manufacturers DO allow direct bring-in for 2 reasons;
1) customer service quality
2) they would get the device anyway through your seller so it does not make a huge difference

Don't get me wrong, I am the biggset fan of Samasung since the S where all my electronics are samsung and I always recommended it to others, which is why I feel betrayed!
I think I'll try lumia 920 for now, nokia phones never failed me ... at least the old ones!

it was just used to test apps under underdevelopment, the phone was unlocked out of the box.

My Galaxy S III GT-I9300 Phone has the SDS (Sudden Death Syndrome).
So I would like to get my phone repaired using the Samsung Warranty.
How do you guys, that have the same problem with the same model, get your warranty?
I'm getting mad! The brazilian Samsung don't want to give the warranty for my model because it says that is the international version and the brazilian Samsung warranty only cover national models.
Can I get, by law or other method, the international warranty (USA, Europe, Asia, ...) without have the buy proof, just showing the IMEI or S/N of my phone?

Nope their is no Samsung International warranty .
Warranty through Samsung applies to the original market area location of the phone .
US US EU EU only .
The Samsung warranty is a limited extra warranty .
Your phone vendor is the one that is liable they sold it not Samsung .
First step is to find your original firmware work out what country its for and find a Samsung service centre in that location and ask them if they will repair and without a receipt for the sale the probable answer is no .But its worth asking .

From a site called Mercado Livre, like eBay.
Is from a company that had a physical store, but was forced to close by the law, because they were distributing fake receipts, or don't give at all.
I don't know from where the company bought the S III.
well, if it's not from an official retailer, then you're probably out of luck

Do you know how I find my original firmware when my phone is "dead"?
I contacted the Samsung of USA and they indicated that my phone is from UK (maybe China), but they are not sure of that :good:.

From the box from the IMEI .
UK maybe China sounds more like a guess .
